Episode 170: "Major Boobage"

Summary: "A South Park homage to the 1981 film, “Heavy Metal”, the boys are trying to get Kenny off the latest drug craze that’s captured the junior high and under set."

Hope its good. Airs tonight at 10:00 Eastern. It repeats tomorrow at 10 pm Eastern.

I am seriously enjoying the Heavy Metal-esque scenes. The obvious psuedo-rotoscoped animation is hilarious.

Ya know, I like women's breasts as much as the next guy, but that's kinda too much.

I love how Kenny started to get high on the flowers in the end.

That was awesome. MUCH better than last week's.

Too many highlights to list, but I'd say they include, in no particular order:

1. The psychadelic sequences.
2. Gerald and Kenny fighting in the sandbox
3. The Anne Franks parody.
4. The very end, where Kenny gets high from life (flowers)

And is that a reference to Spitzer in the end, where Shelia is beside Gerald during his press conference?

Can I say the whole episode? But seriously...

Kyle: What are you doing with cats in your attic?
Cartman: They need to be hidden Kyle! Something you wouldn't understand
(Stan and Kyle's astonished faces)

Kenny: (muffled) Her boobs were sooooooo huge

Sheila's face during Mr. Broflowski's speech also "Don't touch me"

Kyle: So you don't see any parallels between that and anything in history?
Cartman: Ummmm...Nope, Nothing

Mr. Mackey: So you can get high off cat piss, m'kay?...I probably shouldn't have told you that m'kay

Any scene where it showed the "Heavy Metal" world and what the "cheesers" were actually doing (Like Kenny and Mr. Broflowski's "fight")

So cats are one of the few things Eric Cartman truly cares about.

That was a classic-style episode, with better animation. I'm sure a knowledge of Heavy Metal would add to the experience, but the scenes were fairly brief, somewhat funny on their own terms, and from what little I know of Heavy Metal I sort of got the joke. I also liked how they had that Anne Frank parallel going throughout the episode to chuckle-worthy effect and then finally had the punchline where Kyle called Cartman out on it. It also tied in well with the plot, when Kenny found the secret stash.

The alarmist news report on "cheesing" was probably the funniest part of the episode. Also, I think Gerald Broflovski's confession press conference was loosely modeled after Gov. Elliot Spitzer's, so that's probably going to be the extent of their riffing on that situation. (I got that from the general look of it, plus when he said something like "I let myself down and I let my wife down.")

I liked them playing the theme at the end, I was laughing out loud at Kenny getting high on the flowers.

Kenny with the crossed eyes and opened shirt with yellow all over his face was the best part. But him throwing up next to Butters and having no reaction was priceless, too.

Great episode. Felt like a season 3/4 episode.

Dang! Just DANG! I know this is probably the only show to ever reference Heavy Metal, but that was the BEST Heavy Metal parody I've seen and will ever see. I was surprised at how many of the stories they were able to squeeze in all at once...

They even managed to squeeze a Locknar reference into all that boobage. The only stories they didn't reference were Harry Canyon and Captain Stern.

And even if you've never seen Heavy Metal, you can't help but admit that was some awesome animation. Hopefully, this will inspire a new generation to check out one of the greatest adult animated films of all time.

Say, did anyone notice that Kenny didn't die in this episode? Must've been tempting to have him die from drug overdose, but they chose not to.

That just makes this episode better.

I loved all the scenes involving Cartman hiding the cats....and his ignorance toward similar treatment of the Jewish in the past (or else he was just feigning ignorance to piss off Kyle)....
Also loved seeing Mr Mackey again....accidently telling kids ways they can get high (and Gerald repeats the same joke at the end)...

Cable technically has no censors -- just advertisers who can withhold their support -- so there are no clear-cut rules. That brings it down to a judgment call on Comedy Central's part, which is already a plus. Then I guess they decided that it wasn't really done for pornographic effect, and it was a TV-MA show, so I guess that's that.

I can't imagine any advertisers being upset by this given the context. It just didn't seem all that filthy or titillating.

Although I have a feeling this will one never air in network syndication.

I didn't get that bit myself. Anyway, I laughed at this episode a lot, and it was a good way to make up for last week's God-awful episode.
