  • You know, being captured by Somali pirates would be a better option than watching this episode.

I like how they gave Ike some decent lines as opposed to just spouting random words.

Very fun episode. It really started getting good when Kevin managed to take over the French ship with a plastic lightsaber. My other favorite moment was the peg leg.

HA!
This episode was awesome. I love how Stone and Parker can manage to crank out a South Park episode in only 5 days and keep up with current events. It's definitely one of the show's biggest strengths.
Cartman constantly saying "...the f--k!?", Clyde bawling, the toy lightsaber, Cartman being a pirate, the Somalians getting shot at the end, truly a great episode.

8/10

Dang. That was...out of the blue.
Seriously, sniping the pirates that quickly.

The pirates were killed just like that in real life, if they are going to do a real adaption of current events, they are staying true to what happened.

Argg, I loved it a few weeks ago when the Daily Show with Jon Stewert covered this story.

"Pirates?....Pirates!?....Pirates....(covers eye like eyepatch) PIRATES!?"

but how would they find one piece
I was waiting for someone to make this joke

You want to know why there are a lot of Cartman based episodes? Since if they're of this quality Cartman based episode kick a lot of ass. In fact this was even better then the half season finale last year. More out there since this one dealt with going to Somila and finding a group of Somilan rebels and Cartman getting them to loot and plunder like more traditional pirates but still pretty good. In general I really like it when Cartman's imagination gets the better of him and he tries leading a life that most wouldn't even think of, in this case being a pirate. And he made a fairly good captain anyway, convicingin all to go (except jews, mexcians and gingers), pirate talking his way to the Somila natives, getting the French crew off the boat and actually getting the Somilans to pirate pretty well (and actually lecturing them on the pirate song. That felt like the good kind of out there moment SP really needs to have more of) until they were all gunned down (the ending was a bit arput but that was the point: I mean it's obvious the U.s Military will just go and take the boys home with the pirates dead and everyone else learned they're lesson. And since the rule is Cartman never learns anything he had to be taken out of power somewhere else). There were also a lot of good moments as well from the others as well: Kyle encouragnging Cartman to be a pirate to get him to leave and then going to Somila to get his brother and the others bike, Ike having a more educated reason for leaving to not be around anyone else (I always like the examples of Ike having a superior IQ to others even with his baby vocab), Butters phrase book and joining in on the priate song, Clyde constantly crying out whenever there was trouble (guess he is the worrywart of the boys) and Kevin being the 5th with his usual not getting the theme and lightsaber (similar to the LOTR ep but actually useful in this scenario). And in general the idea of doing a pirating adventure ep made for a good romp with nice local jokes (the montage of them getting over, the french easily surrending, The U.S in shock at lightsaber technology and the Somilan pointing out how pirating sucks). Kind of saddened they didn't have any more modern pirate refrence (like you know to say Pirates of the Carribean) even as where Cartman got the idea of pirates being a lot fun and adventrous as but the episode didn't need it. Unlike other SPs it didn't empahize the same stupid jokes over and over and had a very good flow to it. Defintley one of the top eps of the season so far.

I had a funny twisted thought, a little off topic, but I thought those that watch South Park would appreciate it.

Remember that episode of Rugrats when they all pretended to be pirates, how about if we rewrite the ending and have them end up like the Somilan pirates in this episode and in real life.

I thought it was pretty funny throughout....Highlights..

Kyle encouraging Cartman to leave to become a pirate (so he'd be gone, and possibly killed),but then having to go save his little brother,Ike (Ike got some funny lines in this one, too, I loved the letter to his parents)...

Cartman allowing everyone but "jews, gingers and mexicans",and kicking out the ginger who wanted to join his group...

Cartman and his "crew" unknowingly being taken hostage by the Somalian pirates...

Kevin managing to scare the French off their ship during the rescue with a plastic lightsaber...

and Cartman taking over the Somalian pirates, and making them behave how he expects pirates to act...

Pirates? Somalia?!

"Dude, seriously... THE ****?!"

Oh who am I kidding? This is Cartman we're talking about...

I have to admit, Cartman and his 'crew' actually did a good job... until the real pirates got shot in the head...

Cartman is one of the best and most twisted cartoon villains ever. :)

Hmmm...not sure what to make of this one:

1. The French surrender seemed like a pretty tired joke, especially since in reality the French fought back against the Somalian pirates before the U.S. did. (Which might have made for a funny gag, but no.)

2. Cartman was a riot, as always, however.

3. So how come Obama wasn't shown? They could have shown him having 17 meetings before finally deciding to let the military do their jobs. ANOTHER gag possibility lost.

4. I have to wonder: what child does Ike's voice and who's teaching him all those naughty words?:p

5. The Susan Boyle joke was a bit superfluous, but funny. (I think she's ubercool BTW).

6. If I'm supposed to feel at all sorry for the plight of Somalians, um, no. It's their country and it's their job to do something with it. Hijacking ships and threatening innocent people's lives does not engender my sympathy. FWIW.

7. The ending was indeed abrupt. And a bit unsatisfying.

All in all, an okay episode. I guess the South Park crew can't hit it out of the park every week.

Awesome,hilarious episode:D,

The highlights:
Cartman wanting to be a pirate to cause trouble(like Peter Griffin),interesting plot.
Cartman wants to go to Somalia.
Kyle wanting to get rid of Cartman.
Cartman's pirate talk on the speaker, hehehe.
Butters,Ike,Kevin,ginger kid,& Clyde as pirates.
Cool of Kevin to have a major role, since he's my favorite minor character.
Cartman as a pirate.
Cartman kicking out the poor ginger kid,he's a racist afterall, hehehe.
Kevin's plastic lightsaber=NIICE,hahahahaha:D,well he's a Star Wars fan when he wore the Stormtrooper helmet in the Lord of the Rings parody episode.
Butters should be lucky to get away from his crappy parents:anime:.
The Somalians warning Cartman & the boys on the Somalian crooks' turf.
The Somalian crooks holding Cartman & the boys hostage.
Poor Clyde's crying is hilarious along with Ike's slap.
Kyle/Stan totally free of Cartman for good.
Sorry Kyle, but Eric Cartman will never die,the show will be lame without him, hehehe.
Ike had some good decent lines along with the Susan Boyle joke.
Cartman holding the French hostage & Kevin's plastic lightsaber action.
Cartman bringing the cruise ship to the Somalian thugs.
Cartman giving a pegleg & turning the Somalians into pirates, well,he is one super, manipulative little punk I tell ya:evil:.
Cartman's pirate song, another great villain song like Mumbo Jumbo/Dr.Doofenshmirtz's.
The French crew mentioning the plastic lightsaber.
The head guy sounded a bit like Randy:p.
Kyle coming to Somalia & he's hostage again like in Cartoon Wars part 2,hahahaha.
The small mutant fish="AAAHHH:D:p!!!!"
The poor Somalian pirate's speech was sad/touching:crying:.
Poor Ike & Butters finally realise that running away is not the answer:(.
Butters' speech was great & poor Clyde's crying.
The guy="don't hit the white ones,"hahahahahaha.
The Somalian pirates shot dead along with the poor Somalian pirate in yellow, hahahahaha, what a shocking ending:eek::p.

I agree with Dub,Eric Cartman is one of the best, most evilest/demented cartoon villains in history after seeing this episode:evil:.
The chemistry for the four boys is interesting while Stan,Kyle,& Kenny are the good boys,Cartman is the fat, evil, racist, sadistic brat to rip on his friends & do something evil while the boys(mostly Kyle)try to stop his evil acts, pretty amazing.

Ayeh! Pirates who don't do anything in Somolia!

Will the next batch of South Park episodes air in October-November?

That episode was fantastic. Classic South Park.

I'm glad it didn't just turn into a Kyle and Cartman episode, and Kyle was only used for a few jokes instead. It's been a while since we had a pure kid adventure episode like this.

Also, I thought the ending was good, if abrupt. Probably because the episode was so packed in, they needed a fast ending. I thought it worked.

Probably the best episode this season. Absolutely hilarious throughout. Cartman's pirate song, Ike slapping Clyde to get him to stop crying, and Cartman sticking a table leg in the guy were just a few highlights. Almost forgot..."Jews can't be pirates, thats true...I'm glad you finally came to terms with your disability, Kyle." LOL

6. If I'm supposed to feel at all sorry for the plight of Somalians, um, no. It's their country and it's their job to do something with it. Hijacking ships and threatening innocent people's lives does not engender my sympathy. FWIW.
Even though the majority of Somalis don't condone that behavior. Right.

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
