"While most announcements at “Star Wars Celebration” are focused on new feature films, live-action and animated series, video game news also has some exciting reveals at the event. And now, at this year’s “Star Wars Celebration Japan”, EA announced their next Star Wars game is “Star Wars: Zero Company’.
Set during the Clone Wars, the game is a turn-based tactics game similar to “X-Com”, “Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle” or “Aliens: Dark Descent”. The official announcement from EA’s new website for the game summarizes the game as follows: “Command an elite squad through a gritty and authentic story set in the twilight of the Clone Wars. You will step into the shoes of Hawks, a former Republic officer who leads Zero Company – an unconventional outfit of professionals for hire hailing from across the galaxy.”
Here’s the trailer:
Though the game is coming from publisher EA, the actual production team is a relatively new studio called “Bit Reactor”, which is composed of several former “X-Com” game series programmers. The company is partnering with EA’s “Respawn Entertainment” (the studio behind the hit “Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order” and “Jedi Survivor”) for assistance on the game."
