A friend of mine found this on Worthipoint. It's the script for the original intro for Strange Tales of Weird Science

It confirms a theory @Peter Paltridge has had for years. The original intro had Buster and Babs in a Frankenstein-esque laboratory, giving a proper intro to the episode and its theme.

The intro seems like it would have been effects-heavy, which is probably why Encore's takes were considered so unsalvagable the whole intro was dropped and replaced with deleted scenes from the pilot.

That;s an interesting find -- and there are a few more scripts there. One for a short called "Pool Sharks" where Plucky Duck is called Mucky Duck. Ruegger said the names of the characters went through several revisions, usually due to legal clearance problems.

I'm the bloke who happened upon this script page - and for what it's worth, it's not the only one I've managed to discover during my Internet travels. There exists a Google Sites page with hundreds of scans of scripts done for various television shows, and there just so happen to be a few TTA ones in this massive archive. In the event folks here haven't seen them, and wish to study and examine them, here ye be:
"The Wheel O'Comedy"
"The Buster Bunny Bunch"
"Animaniacs!"

The fascinating thing with these is that they (most notably "Animaniacs!") contain many scenes that were ultimately not used in the final episode as aired despite being final drafts more-or-less. "Animaniacs!", for instance originally had Hamton's student film depicting him being chased by the stop-motion "Rat Fink"-inspired Elmyra from the "Love Among the Toons" segment in "Spring in Acme Acres"!

"Hamlet idly whistling Material Pig" - not remotely surprised this didn't make it past the script stage.

The "Animaniacs!" one also confirms something Peter once suspected: Gogo's film was originally supposed to be something boring (specifically, a driver's ed film).

Mucky Duck is actually a brand of mustard, which may explain why it had to be changed. (Also note that Hamton is referred to as "Hamlet" in the Weird Science script.)

EDIT: After looking at the episode again, I think part of the original intro may have actually been incorporated into the beginning of "Scentimental Pig" (note that the opening shots appear to match what's described in the script):

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
