The Legend of Korra "Reunion" Talkback [11/14/14]

And you have proof?

IIRC, when Korra was renewed it was for 52 episodes, which were meant to be divided equally in the 3 books but as Book 1 had a chapter less they gave Book 2 an extra one.

Boy oh boy could Season 3 and 4 have used that extra episode.

Also book 3 was already well into production by the time book 2 aired. They literally can't have adjusted the episode-count due to the reception of book 2, because there was no reception of book 2 by the time they were planning out book 3.

My recap for this episode is up. Meh episode. I mean, it moves the plot and all, but the Bolin and Varrick subplot feels tedious and I can't believe I'm saying that since they're my two favorite characters! Korra's plot needed more emotional weight after she reunited with Mako and Asami. I would have pushed the Wu kidnapping plot till the last act just so the three could spend more time discussing the awkwardness of a three year time gap.

I thought this episode was pretty good....I found the B-story with Varrick and Bolin to be far more entertaining tough. While Korra, Asami, and Mako getting back together was sweet and had me simmering in a pool of shippy feels, I felt that the reunion was a bit...quick. If I hadn't seen somebody in 3 years, the first thing I would NOT say is "Your hair looks good" and give a second-long hug. And Asami snapping at Korra felt a bit OOC on her part. The two seem to be really close, so for her to yell at Korra when she's been gone for 3 years is odd. But Mako and Korra's bickering was kind of understandable.
Now I feel the need to notice the juxtaposed behaviors of Wu and Varrick to their...lackeys, Mako and Bolin respectively. I feel like Wu is what Varrick was like when he was a kid. Spoiled, overly-pamepered and physically and mentally unable to support himself without his "best buddy" who secretly can't stand him. Mako could very well be how Xu Li behaved when she first started working for Varrick.
While this is all cool and interesting though, Varrick's current character arc appears to be him learning to be more considerate of others. To have Wu do the same thing would be repetitive, so I hope they do SOMETHING for this guy so he contributes more than just headaches.

Thank you, Romania, we thought the film will never see the light of day here. Still, why are you waiting some more and launching the film days later than in good ol America?

Today marks the 5th Year Anniversary of the HD Version of Skyward Sword. I appreciated how the HD Version of the game included quality of life improvements such as the option to use button controls.
You know at this point we really need to admit it is never coming home.
