No. My guess is that it will be released in early summer.

There are eight episodes of the second season DVD, right? How many more does that leave for the rest of the season? I bet we'll get at least two more DVD releases this year for X-Men. I wish I could find all of season one, but I can't find those DVDs anywhere!

More MTV Spider-Man DVDs?

SuperheroHype! is reporting that Sony is releasing three more DVDs based on the MTV Spider-Man series. I am assuming these three DVDs just feature random episodes, or episodes spliced together to form movies. Could there have been new episodes made with no one knowing? Here's the link:

The fact that their releasing more could very well mean that the first DVD sold relatively well...

I mean, if it didn't, they wouldn't want to milk more money out of the series would they? I'll be watching the news of these DVDs to see what they actually are...if their episodes that weren't aired...I'd me more then glad to go out and buy them.

They sound like re-releases. The mutant menace one is a bit tricky, the only one I can think of is Law Of The Jungle, the Lizard episode, and, at a stretch, Mind Games.

Perhaps they are edited versions for childrens viewing. I'd love it if they where new episodes though, I remember reading that MTV did order 26 episodes of the show way back when it was first announced, but I doubt they'd go direct to DVD.

I have no complaints about the possibility of the episodes being editted versions; we already got all of them uncut on DVD. I would, of course, be overjoyed if these new discs included previously unreleased episodes. If not, then hopefully some new bonus features not included the season set would be nice. I'll wait to see what is on these DVDs before I decide whether to buy these.

Most importantly, I hope that the successful sale of the season set and these new DVDs will lead to a new season of Spider-Man: TNAS or possibly a direct-to-video movie.

Personally, I would rather buy the episodes as single releases because the entire series isn't worth watching in my opinion, IMO. The only episodes I really have an interesting in watching and owning are the two Electro episodes and the two-part finale. Everything else isn't really worth it in my eyes.

I'd really like to know what they are going to have on them. I can't tell if it's something new, or just random episodes. I'm leaning toward something new, because
1. I don't really think there was anything that had to do with mutants in the show. (For "The Mutant Menace")
2. Ultimate Face-Off makes me think more of someone like the green goblin instead of the episodes with the twins, which they would have to use if they were re-releasing existing episodes.
3. It wouldn't be that hard for them to make something new, like the previous DVD said, once they've made the models, they can just keep reusing them.
But, High Voltage Villains sounds like Electro, and could go either way. Same with the others. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, 8 episodes. That leaves 9 in Season 2.

Supposedly we'll have all of Season 2 on DVD this year. We'll see. Anyway, you might want to try Amazon.com to get the Season 1 DVDs. That's where I got them after I couldn't find them in stores.

Oooh, I love that cover! It's nice to see that the cover art is a change from the style used for the past three discs. I do hope we'll get the details of what episodes will be on the disc soon. I can't wait for this disc!

Not a brilliant cover, but it's better than any of the previous Disney discs. The only really ugly part is the font used on Doc Ock.

And those titles don't even really make that much sense. How is Talon a high voltage villain?

I actually really like the cover art for the Spider-Man/Doc Ock DVD. It looks much better than the head shots we got in the other releases. I wonder if this means we will get to see the cover art for ther 1967 box set soon. I really want to know the direction they are taking with that set - design wise.

Why would anyone buy the re-releases? I paid about $18 for the whole collection. I can't see them selling the new releases for $6 each, probably more like $9 to $12. Again, why would anyone buy these?

I have bought single DVD's from a series before. But that was a series where the boxset cost over $100. I only wanted a few episodes enough to buy them so it didn't make sense to buy the whole set.
