There has been talk recently that xmen tas will come out in volumes and sets in uk not season sets mroe like what happen with dungeon and dragons just a set with all of like maybe 6 volumes, the one that suppose to do it in uk is fox kids or at least sponsered in some way but if it is happening it wont be untiul summer 2005, this aint offical though

I'd like to think that Disney will eventually do the larger sets for the 1990's Marvel series once they are done working through the 1960's classic shows. They have another huge set for next year to tie into the Fantastic Four movie. I'd like to see much more after that. Disney has such a huge catalogue now of material to put onto disc.

the hanna barbera FF show only lasted, what.. 2 seasons.. and I suspect that Warner controls the distribution rights to that era.. Hopefully they'll act quickly and release everything on a double disc set..

disney would control the Fantastic Three Show (with Herbie ).. lasted one season.. blurgh.. and then the 90's FF show lasted 2 seasons.. but only the 2nd one is really worth watching..

FF was only 26 episodes long. A box set with all of the episodes isn't unfeasable. But Hulk was 21 episodes (?) and we got one single disc.

I have a terrible feeling we're going to get that horrid Mask Of Doom 3 parter, and the subpar Origin 2 parter from the first series. I hope I'm wrong, it would be great to get some of the second season episodes on DVD.

It's getting a November 8th release in region 2, if memory serves. They practically announced it with Spider-Man Vs Doc Ock, so I doubt it'll be a case like the second X-Men DVD. But... this is Disney. Hopefully that set of the cartoon who's name I can never remember correctly will inspire them to release more animated box sets. Is it Gargoyles, or something like that?

That's the thing. I wouldn't put it past Disney if they just didn't release this. This seems to be following what happened to the second X-Men DVD. They did have a huge preview for the Spider-Man VS Venom DVD on the last Spidey disc (twice even!) but why wouldn't be surprised if they just don't mention anything. December announcements are just about done and there's been not a single word.

I'd love to see this show on DVD in almost any form, as I missed the last few seasons (never saw the "Old Soldiers" episode). You would think that since X-Men: Evolution DVDs are out, releasing more of this series would be a no-brainer. I have a feeling that we may not see a DVD release until the next X-Men Film.

It is a no-brainer, but for some reason. Disney doesn't seem to be putting the two together with any success. There are so many ways this old series could be put out, but season sets of volume sets would just be the best way to take this. It's still possible given the low number of episodes currently out. I really wouldn't feel cheated. And even if every episode can't get out, there are some that really deserve to be released.

Australian (Region 4) release of Spider-man: The Venom Saga was Oct 13th... which strangely enough given the dateline difference is today, and I have a copy in my hands.

Nice menu transistions (black ooze), but still following the same non-menu system as the Ock disc but with a red/blue split. No show/disc title on the main menu still looks wrong. Extras are Stan Lee introductions and "interview", no old episodes which is understandable given Venom's modern nature.

The Alien Costume Part 2
The Alien Costume Part 3
Venom Returns
Carnage

As I said, the only extras, unless there are easter eggs hiding on it, are the Stan Lee episode introductions and Stan's Soapbox.

The problem is unlike the other discs the main villain isn't one Stan created, so he actually doesn't know all that much about Venom, so he talks in more general terms about the suit by linking it to the characters he knows (Peter, the Hulk) before really going off into a tangent about robots and his parents forcing him to dress up as a cowboy for photos...

That said our Doc Ock disc only had one 60's episode on it where I believe you had two, so we could have been cheated on extras which is the usual for Region 4....

Has anyone read the TZ News page yet? I am really mad here! It turns out that Disney hasn't announced a release date yet for the DVD and it looks like they don't even know when it will be released! Thank you VERY MUCH Disney!

More bad news, when Jim Harvey contacted Buena Vista asking about possible boxsets, they quickly brushed him off.

One word comes to mind. Idiots.

If you had a whole shows worth of someone who is arguably, the most popular characters based of recent memory sitting in your vault, wouldn't you want to exploit it.

Spider-Man 2 is apprantly the highest selling game of the year thus far. The movie is the second biggest of the year. The toys sell like hotcakes. The DVD of the first film is the second highest selling DVD ever, if memory serves.

Christ Disney, wake up.

R1 release was just a few months earlier, but pretty much identical. R4 is the side the gets screwed on features after all

IIRC R1 also got a later release with only a few episodes per disc to cash-in on the release of Spider-man 2, where we only got the full disc around when the movie was released in Australia.

Welcome to the new Official Marvel Animation DVD Thread. The idea worked so much over at The DC Animation Forum we thought we should give it a try out here. This thread will be the place to discuss upcoming releases. Everything from the next X-Men: Evolution, Spider-Man: The Animated Series, The Incredible Hulk, and every other Marvel animated series inbetween, from the past to the present!

Hoepefully this will make things a little easier when looking for information. I combed through hundreds of posts from this board, ones I thought fit right in, and put them under one title. Continue posting and discussing DVD news in this thread all you like! We got some releases on the horizon and plenty more on the way. Besides, there's plenty of controversy to be had, as well, so things should be rolling along quite smoothly! Enjoy the new Official Marvel Animation DVD Thread...now continue on with the discussion!
