Looks like I wasn't the only one unable to access the Forum recently. Did "Ghost In The Machine" air yesterday as scheduled? What did everyone think? I, for one, was happy to finally get some more Doc backstory into the show.

Goog episode, Fisk was funny and cute as usual and the action was always as entertaining as it always is. One question I have though though, I was wondering if Drew was voiced by someone new in this episode? When she was screaming "His name is Zak and you can't have him!" and "You know me!" she sounded different from her normal voice, but maybe it's just me, I don't know. Either way it was a fun episode, I caught it last night on YAH and this morning on Crushzone.

Yes, it aired yesterday night, and I absolutely loved the episode. At first I thought Argost might have been behind the entire thing, but those old scientists were a pleasant surprise. A secret government project created to produce cryptid super-soldiers...never saw it coming. I sadly didn't recognize any of the cryptids beyond the Momo and the Honey Island Swamp monster. Can't wait to see Fiskerton's backstory in a few weeks.

I thought it was a really enjoyable episode. Nice to see Doc's backstory.

Jay, were all those cryptids real or "manufactured" for the show?

Bravo, Mr. Stephens. Great ep. I'm usually pretty good at predicting plot twists, but I must admit, I saw nothing coming. Way to keep me guessing!

I noticed that one of the bayou cryptids resembled DC Comcs' Swamp Thing.

Coincidence, or inside joke?

By the way, Ghost in the Machine was also the title of a Transformers episode. Interesting.

Not to mention the title of an album by The Police.

Cryptozoology 101: The Honey Island Swamp Monster and MoMo.

Well after watching the show last night I could tell about two of the creatures that were in it, One of them being the Honey Island Swamp Monster and the other being Momo. But there were other cryptids that were in this show that definitely were related to a number of sightings in the southern US.

But we'll discuss two of them, namely The Honey Island Swamp Monster (which Doc Solomon Saturday first tracked in 1984, and his cousin Momo (Which is short for the Missouri Monster.)

Now the Honey Island Swamp Monster was supposedly a creature that towers in at seven feet (2.2 meters) tall and emits a foul smell, as well as having four toes on each of it's Bipedal feet. It is bipedal in nature, and is supposedly lurking around the Honey Island Region south of New Orleans, Louisiana. In fact here's a rough sketch or potential picture of the monster.

Now as for sightings the first sightings of the creature were 35 years ago in 1974 by a retired air traffic controller by the name of Harlan Ford who after retiring from his job took up nature photography.
It was in that year that Harlan had somehow photographed this creature in the sloughs of the Honey Island Swamp region (which is just an hour south of New Orleans. After this initial sighting in which Mr. Ford describes that the creature had 4 toes and walked on it's hind legs that the story took off. and for the next six years Harlan Ford along with his best friend Billy (Ray) Mills hunted the creature to accquire more footage of the creature.

It wasn't until Mr. Ford's death in 1980, that a mysterious Super 8mm Film showed up in his belongings that had photos of said monster.

And even today there are yearly reports of the creature still being reported. And that in fact in 1989 (If this is true and more than Likely is) that Doc Solomon Saturday (as a young boy) Tracked down and proved the existence of said cryptid, some 9 years after Harlan Ford's death.

Now as for the other creature mentioned, which is called Momo (for the full name The Missouri Monster) this creature is the name of a local legend, in Missouri and in some ways is similar to the Honey Island Swamp Monster but is more like Bigfoot/Sasquatch which was located in Missouri. The creature is reported to have a large, pumpkin-shaped head, with a furry body, and hair covering the eyes.

The creature was first reported in Louisana Missouri in July 1971 by two locals of the area, Joan Mills and Mary Ryan. Both women described the creature as having it's pumpkin shaped head and that it stood about seven feet (2.1-2.2 meters) in height. The creature also emitted a foul smell as well. While some scientists dismissed the incident as being that of a rogue black bear, it wasn't until July 11, 1972 at 3:30 pm that afternoon, that the creaTerry, Wally, and Doris Harrison, the sightings lasted for about 2 weeks after that.

But Momo has been sighted over the next thirty years with the latest sighting being in October 2002. In that instance Momo was spotted crossing a highway just south of Bourbon Missouri by a motorist who was driving along the road.

In short Momo and the Honey Island Swamp monster could be real cryptids.. Or they could be some experiment that went horribly wrong.

But either way these creatures do exist.. There are others and I'll try to find more examples of some of the critters that reside in the Southern US. (and Mr. Stephens, feel free to add in the Missing Monsters names and I'll be sure to do a follow up class on those creatures.)

But until then... Class Dismissed.

Thanks, folks. As far as the title goes, that was the writers' purview... but judging by the age of us fogeys on the production end, I can pretty much guarantee that it was inspired by The Police, and not another animated cartoon.

Researching 'bigfoot'-type sightings in the American southwest turned up a ton of similar-but-different cryptids, which inspired this story. The complete list of man-made cryptid anthropoids includes:
-The Bishopville Lizardman
-Booger
-Devil Monkey
-Fouke Monster
-Georgia Pigman
-Green Goon
-Hawley Him
-Honey Island Swamp Monster
-Kinchafoonie Creep
-Lake Worth Monster
-Man Cat
-Mississippi Swamp Ape
-Momo

It was a real treat to do a 'Southern Gothic' tale, set in the swamps. The Scientist names are homages to classic horror film stars, and I think we got it nice and creepy!

F.Y.I.
There are no cast changes. Our stellar actors are the same throughout the series. Nicole Sullivan got to show a softer, deeply concerned, side of Drew Saturday in this episode, which is why she sounded so unfamiliar. Normally Drew's a pretty tough nut! But future episodes will continue to utilize the full range of Nicole's considerable talents.

This episode was freaky! Freaky awesome, that is.

And as a resident of Missouri I'm delighted to hear Momo was featured! My dad told me about Momo a few years back. I think he was threated with Momo coming to get him a few times actually!:p

Good Episode, I really like the scientist VA...it just sound so evil IMO. Nicole Sullivan is just an incredible actor/VA overall *remembers all the old MAD TV skits* I can always recognize her voice.

Excellent. Another solid episode. There were a few scenes that seemed a bit odd, such as Zak’s escapade with the ‘gators, but I had no real complaints.

The truly evil-sounding voice of Dr. Lee was done by none other than Deidrich (Fiskerton/Batman) Bader. He's another of our astounding cast that has great natural instincts and range, and he has provided a few other back-up voices for us in the series.

Wow, for the first time since um.. episode 4, I actually didn't mind an episode.
Are there anymore backstory eps. coming up?

A bit of Fiskerton backstory coming up shortly, which also involves some childhood Zak stuff. The new episodes we're working on now have even more treats-- like, how Doc lost his eye and what really happened to Drew and Doyle's parents.

The Zak-Fiskerton-Komodo gestalt creeped me out something fierce. I was truly expecting him/it/them to open a can on the scientists, outside their control. Let's see ... Fisk's strength and agility, Komodo's chameleon power, and Zak's intelligence and cryptid influencing powers, which he could theoretically now use on himself to keep his three minds operating in concert.

I'm fairly new to the show ... I didn't realize Drew was into psychic/paranormal phenomena besides cryptids. Kind of surprised me, given that she seemed to be a pretty keen scientist.

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
