Bart and Lisa, with a little help from Professor Frink, get a look eight years into their future, where Bart and Lisa (who is about to receive a scholarship to Yale...who's that muscular kid she's with - what do you mean, that's Milhouse?), are about to graduate from high school together...and does 9-year-old Maggie have anything to say?
It was pretty good, I guess.

Wow, that was actually...good. Certainly the best all season, IMO.

It was interesting, but probably because of the whole future thing.(again?) Because I remember a few other episodes that show the future that where fun to watch just to see what happens.(gypsy, Indian Casino)

But in all reality it kinda was crap and I hope they dont do more of these just because ther're easier to write:sad:.

-most enjoyable episode this season(sadly)

3 out of five brendons
:brendon::brendon::brendon:/:brendon::brendon::brendon::brendon::brendon:

Anyway, my thoughts....you know I'm not too keen on these super-future-Jetson-RIPOFF jokes, but I'll only review this based on the three 'future' episodes: It's nowhere as good (storywise) as Lisa's Wedding, but it's better than Bart to the Future. In either case, that's not saying very much.

As for the future jokes, the only two I laughed at were the furry tail since, I think, it's a take off of the Yo Mama! joke: "Your mama's so ugly, that when she went in for plastic surgery they suggested adding a tail!". And the other was was Bender's "You two will be my new best friends!" which was followed by my shudders as he's tossed disrespectfully aside by his inferiors...

Other minor complaints: Bart's hair, and how some characters looked A LOT older than they should've, especially Snake and Willie.

Bottom line: Not as nausiating as Kill the Alligator and Run, but I have no desire to watch it again.

5/10 and I think this episode rated so highly on other boards since there IS an interest in seeing the characters older.

First of all, This episode was only set 8 years in the future....so why was everything about one century too futuristic. I mean, come on, a cloning machine 8 years from now, please, just kill The Simpsons now!

Come on thats part of the joke(I guess?)

recent thought: I liked barts g/f
I thousght the whole episode was a little sick and twisted, like : bart and Mrs.K, nelson and the twins, Professor Frink hanged himself and even the rude actions toward bender.

I was expecting disaster, but was pleasantly surprised.

Nelson impregnating both Sheri and Terri was great, so was the Bender cameo.

Yeah, it was a little too futuristic, and Maggie was only in for half a scene, but they did have some good political humor - Gulf War V - Find the President's Head.

Smithers admitted that he was gay if he didn't take injections every 10 minutes.

The beginning was good too - No one's gay for Moleman.

6/10. One of the best of the season.

Sometimes it irks me that all these future episodes vary in quality of technology. The teen years seem to have advanced the most while the other two future episodes seemed not to.

That wasn't half bad. Yes, I rather liked it. It didn't make a whole lot of sense, but it was fun. i feel dizzy.

Missed the beginning, but from what I saw, it was pretty funny.

Aww, poor Bender. That's the CLOSEST we'll ever get to Smithers admitting he's normally gay, since its the future, which might not happen, plus they never said what he was if he didn't take the shots, he could be bisexual, asexual, or something........yeah, not much to go on but lets face it, if they want to, they could work around that. Milhouse getting muscles rocked, but I didn't like how he wanted to wreak Lisa's life so she'll cling to him. Anything where Bart is both a jerk AND later does the right thing is always good. Loved the Moe Triplets. The fact that, even in the future, Homer and Marge ACTUALLY divorce, even if they get back, was good for shaking things up, as well Krusty dating her. Nothing else too memorable, but still chuckle worthy.

Speaking of that, did anyone else laugh at the sofa scene where they all came in as vehicles a la Transformers then changing into Leggo-like block versions of themselves? That was a riot!

Aww, poor Bender..............

I think his scene would have been just as good if it were just his head. Does anyone else remember that in "Roswell that Ends Well" the Planet Express gang left his head behind and it was buried all that time until they found it. If they were smarter here, they could have had Homer and Bart stumble upon it about that same way and they could have chucked the head away like a basketball in a street wastebasket. That would have been even funnier, especially if they had Bender say "Eat my shorts!" since he would have remembered finding the Bart doll on that garbage asteroid that threatened Earth in an earlier Futurama episode.

Wow, that was... Pretty bad.

I loved the Bender cameo. I love Nelson getting Sherri and Terri pregnant. I love Smithers having to take shots every ten minutes. But...

I was kind of disturbed at the idea that Homer and Marge got seperated and the implication that they had sex with other people. Some people say, shaking it up, I say distorting everything we know about the characters for the sake of cheap gags. A LOT of people have said The Simpsons have done that in recent years but like the episode where Mrs. Krabappel left Skinner at the alter or the one where Apu cheated on Manjula this was done at the expense of Homer and Marge being written as a loving if dysfunctional couple into, well, trailer trash. That bothers me a lot.

I really didn't like this episode even if some of the gags were funny. **.

I missed Bender's cameo. Does anyone have a screenshot?

It wasn't really very funny. But, it was kind of interesting. So, this is supposed to take place in 2013? How much you want to bet that Bart is still 10 when the real year 2013 rolls around...

You know, I didn't like the skeleton of Frink hanging on the rope. I really don't find suicide jokes very funny...well...usually...

I guess this is what I get for actually giving a new episode a chance. That episode was horrible.

While it was nice to see Bender again, I almost turned the channel after hearing Smithers scream "I like boobies!". Add that to other characters OOC moments (Lisa saying that Bart is gay for Moleman?) and you have all the making for a crappy episode.

Call me when the series ends.

Interesting idea, but it seems that on Futurama The Simpsons was a show and on The Simpsons Futurama is a show. Then again, anything can happen in a Quantum Tunnel.

This was Bender's third appearance, I believe, on the Simpsons, and they got John DiMaggio, which was cool.

As for the rest of the episode, it was a bit too futurey for me. Loved the beginning, but as soon as Frink had a machine that could see into the future, I felt like I was watching a Halloween episode.

I did like Homer living under the sea, mostly because he sang about it that one time.

So did Apu, but I liked a lot of the kids. Martin, Ralph, Apu's kids, etc.

Was it me or did bender look diffrent? I really didn't get a good look at him

For me, this was the most enjoyable episode all season. Although it wasn't better than the previous "future" episodes, it was still interesting. There was also some OOC moments that irritated me, such as Marge and Homer separating and Smithers saying "I love boobies". I feel that cheap gags like that really cheapen the characters. Also, this is just about 8 years into the future right? Everything looks too futuristic and I guess Lisa must've went up a couple of grade levels because she's supposed to be two years behind Bart.

Milhouse with muscles and still trying to woo Lisa was a laugh. Also, I did think Milhouse was kinda cute in the future:sweat: . Same went for Nelso getting Sheri and Terri pregnant with twins and Bart stealing the scholarship from Lisa.

Overall, not great, but mildy pleasant. Possibly the most enjoyable episode for me this season and that's not saying too much considering I didn't care for many of the episodes.

Yes his arms were dark dark grey and he seemed to be a lite grey with out his blueish tint: )

I agree that this seemed like a halloween episode:?
