Everything goes from bad to worse for the Turtles. Life spins out of control in a nightmare of horror and pain. Who is behind all this? How will it ever end? P.S. Your cat is...

----------------

I don't know if you have to be an "official" person to make a talkback, but i really wanted to discuss it.

when i first was watching it i thought to myself, man this version of the turtles really have it bad (and poor kitty ;(). but once we see the van explode with april and casey i knew it had to be something behind it, specially after splinter was up against everyone. I usually hate "dream" episodes of anything because they tease you and use a very cheap way out, at least in this episode it felt a little more "real" and not as bad as mikey just waking up from meditation saying "wow", though it could have been a nice angle them being revealed to the public and everyone going at against them. I did enjoy it, very grimm episode though.

Surprised nobody made the talkback earlier.

The Bishop segment at the beginning was very promising. I really wanted that to stay real, or at least hope something similar to that happens later in the season. Bishop going after the Turtles in full force would really be awesome, and the Turtles wouldn't stand a chance.

I was surprised when April and Casey's (Turtle) Van blew up, but then it was obvious from that point on that this was going to be undone. Especially when Shredder showed up out of nowhere along with the other villains.

Even if it was an astral projection, the violence was still pretty heavy for a Saturday morning cartoon. Showing multiple bullets firing (which weren't laser guns...yes!) and showing April/Casey "die" was really surprising. I'm amazed that 4kids puts so little restrictions on the TMNT writers. Now if only we could have some blood during the heavy fight scenes...

Never though I'd see the Foot Mystics at the end, and it was nice to see at least some part of this episode was real. Karai looks to be as every bit a threat as Shredder was, love the fact that she has his gauntlets.

Not to mention at the beginning of the episode it was nice to see Splinter finally comment on the Turtles reckless behavior. Leo's angst, Mikey not taking his fights seriously, and Raph and Don being sloppy.

If this is a preview to what the main Bishop and/or Karai arc is later in the season, count me in.

My main problem with this episode was... I've seen Batman's "Over the Edge". I guess this was based on a TMNT comic that came out earlier, but still, as soon as the Turtles were made known to the town, I flashed back to when Batman's secret identity was revealed and I knew it must be the same type of thing.

Wow! This episode was just...wow!

Everything that could've gone wrong for the turtles had gone wrong...even if it was all just a dream. There were a lot of implied deaths in this episode as the turtles feverishly tried to escape Bishop's forces only to run into Shredder(?).

Splinter commenting about Leo's hard-edge behaviour was a needed touch and I'm glad they brought that in.

The fight against the Shredder was awesome and the scene involving the battle of the minds between the turtles, splinter, and the foot mystics was very well animated. :)

Karai is back and ready to do business once again!

Best episode of the season so far. Next week's episode looks like an ATTACK...FROM MARS!!! :D

P.S. Those who have stated in this board that Shredder's storyline is done just saved themselves an "IN YOUR FACE" backlash.

So this episode DID show today. Good. Stupid yahoo.com and excite.com TV guides.

Wow this episode rocks! Really it was cool the fight scenes, the scenes i like the most are Leo getting out of the van, the Shredder and the last scene with Karai.

It was pretty obvious that they where manipulated somehow because we all know that Bishop hates Shredder and Baxter too, can't wait for the next episode to come.

The way I see it Turtles can not do another episode like this unless it is real. I liked this episode but this is the second time they pulled something like this off. These type of episodes are great in moderation but lose their impact if you keep throwing them at us.

The next time they do something like this, if there is a next time, there has to be a real impact to the episode.

Same as it never was take two, er I mean Bad Day was still a good episode though.

Awesomeness!:D

Especially near the end when Splinter noticed that it wasn't real, and the Foot mystics revealing themselves.

"This one is too strong". Loved this episode, best of the season.

Well, in SatNW, it was the TMNT themselves that kept dying. In BD, it was almost everyone close to the TMNT that died.

Good episode, but it loses points for the obviousness of the fact that what happened wasn't real.

Meh. Except for the Karai bit at the end, this episode was a waste. Maybe it would've worked better if the writers hadn't so obviously made it a dream the moment April and Casey died, and instead kept the mystery going awhile longer.

EDIT: Where's Ian today?

Yeah the godly Shredder sort of gave it away. even at his best he never owned the Turtles that much.

I knew this was a dream, mainly because of the fact that it had consequence without prior advertisement. That's right, they didn't hype up the destruction of the lair, hence ergo, it was a dream. (What's what? I'm jaded? Whatever do you mean...?)

Then April and Casey died, and then everyone shows up at the end, and I knew it.

Then we get those dorky elemental guys.

Gah.

This episode was better than the last few (Context: I liked Sons of the Silent Age...), but still not as good as some of the genuine winners they had in the previous season.

But, somehow, it's still the best thing on Saturday mornings.

I realized this thing was a dream/hallucination rather early on, when Klunk drowned- the writers might be willing to destroy the Turtles' home again, but they'd *never* kill a pet.

From that point on, the events served to indicate that a very malevolent and powerful enemy was moving against the Turtles (like they needed any more of that!), finishing with the revelation of who the enemy was. Alas, it seems Karai has turned Bad for good (so to speak.)

Most amusing item: the glimpses of TMNT 'wanted' posters. The presence of those should have tipped off the Turtles; there's no way they could've been posted within seconds of discovery.

Heh. I figured something was up when it was Bishop who exposed the Turtles. As Leonardo noted, he usually worked from the shadows and a mass media farce just doesn't seem his style. That's why I like him so much, I just wish we'd see him more in action rather than just gloating. "Killing off" April and Casey, as well as "resurrecting" the Shredder just tipped their hand a bit too much. It was close to the end when Shredder appeared, though, so it should have been obvious by that point.

And Splinter's finally laying down the law on Turtles, noting just how they have been acting since defeating Shredder. If anyone can set the boys straight, it's their dad. And Karai is back with a vengeance, and her daddy's gauntlets! The plot thickens big time.

Favorite action moment: Leonardo jumping out of the van, snagging the military SUV (or was it a Hummer?), and launching it into a helicopter.

You should never doubt the Sketchor when it comes to Ninja Turtles. But I do find it odd that all the TV guides got it wrong.

This episode is fantastic. It rivals SAINW. It'll have you at the edge of your seat until the very end. You're going to feel a lot of anguish watching this just like the final fight scene in SAINW.

The difference I feel with Same As It Never Was is that *actual* death happened in that episode. There is now an alternate universe where the Turtles ran a suicide mission that finally ended the Shredder's reign. Really, I'd love to see a follow-up where alternate universe Donny finally reappears and finds out the Donny from our world got his brothers killed. That would be pretty strong drama.

Whereas with dream episodes, all the consequences are undone before the episode ends. And it's not like the Turtles really learned anything from their dream other than enemies are out to get them in new, improved ways. What we had was a long chase sequence that upped the ante so quickly that it went from shocking to silly. It just didn't satisfy me.

Those posters said "GREEN MENACE," which was a phrase from the old cartoon. If it was from the comics, I wouldn't know, I've never read them.

There was also a sign for a shop called "2nd Time Around"...

Well, something else I found peculiar about the TV listings was how it said "A Wing And A Prayer" would air today, and it had it listed as episode 86. That's "Bad Day"'s number.

I watched this episode when I got the DVD back in August. I was upset when Klunk drowned, and then something happened later on in the episode that made me think that this could all be a bad dream. It was. Klunk lives.

TiVo said that too... Man, they really let the action shows get away with a lot on alternate universe or magical projection episodes don't they? But I'd sure love to see one that was real, tho'.

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
