"Glad to see you stuck with us. Toonami loves you."

Just thought I'd toss that into the mix.

:tom:

So is it finally time to bring back the Toonami board. Although as a teenager I used to troll alot on there (just look at my early posts from years and years ago, William C. Maune used to send me warnings all the time) it was always my favorite board. But perhaps since it is AS we should keep the discussion on here.

I'm still surprised with how quickly they announced Toonami's return. I figured that if the Twitter campaign was successful, the block wouldn't come back until sometime during the summer so that they could have more time working out a schedule. Though, they could have been planning this from the start and just used the April's Fools bit to test the water for a revival, which seems pretty likely at this point. Anyway, I agree that they'll need to have a mixture of old and new shows for the revival, but hopefully more new than old. While seeing the old shows on April's Fools was part of the appeal for a lot of people, Toonami is going to need to have more new shows in order to really last. I have heard a lot of good things about Madoka Magica and I wouldn't mind seeing the dub on the block, even though I was planning on watching the subs on Crunchyroll after my finals are done anyway.

It's really all about the programming, let's not forget that. If all they plan on doing is tossing Toonami bumpers into their normal anime lineup than I seriously don't see the point, it's not going to boost the ratings for very long as I'm sure viewers would soon just tire of the programming. Well, either that or discover the lineup for the first time. I honestly think Toonami needs to air a mix of new anime alongside some classic stuff, they don't need to go too overboard but they need to do something to freshen things up and give those who bailed on the Saturday night block a reason to come back to it.

I agree that Toonami should be a mix of new shows and classic stuff.

AS has to find the perfect balance. On the one hand, you have fans of Toonami, who if it was up to them, would take the lineup from 2000 and replay it until the end of time. On the other hand, you have fans who want an all-new lineup with no new repeats for older shows. AS has to appease both somehow.

See, Adult Swim, this is how you run a biz-ness.
Quoted for truth.

I am REALLLY hoping/impatient for an epic return promo(s) In fact if that's how we hear of the line-up first I think it would be quite appropriate frankly.

I'm just REALLY hoping for the return of TIEs. and fanart. But mostly TIEs.
Oh god Adult Swim, please bring back TIEs D:

The possibility of co-productions has me on the edge of my seat. This could be huge guys......real huge.

Since Toonami is coming back, does that mean the return of Toonami Digital Arsenal, TylerL?:D

It'd be awesome if they would re-launch Toonami Jetstream as well, but I guess only time will tell.

They might not revive the Jetstream brand but as for streaming the action animation on and off the block? I'm counting on it. http://www.adultswim.com/toonami will surely be used for that some day.

I've got Adult Swim on in the other room, and I heard Toonami-esque music when Family Guy took its first commercial break. I ran over and saw that they were showing the Toonami teaser image they posted online earlier.

So on air promotion is already beginning. Maybe there'll be some more elaborate promos later on in the next week. :D

And just for fun, here's a side by side comparison between the original TOM 3 and the new TOM in the teaser image

It's TOM 3 (The best TOM), but he's definitely been upgraded. Subtle design changes here and there. I love it. :tom:

Mmmm...High definition Toonami...

Out of all the TOMs it's the least amount of changes from previous designs but I'm still calling him TOM5.

Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
