the #AttackOnTitan release will have dual audio. So, both English and Japanese tracks.

I love how often FUNimation denies leaks only to proudly announce them as if nobody could've ever guessed just days later. They'd probably be better off just pretending they didn't see the questions about them. Anyway, I'm very intrigued to see visible work being done for the home video release of this so early.

All of this points to a release much sooner rather than later. A Spring 2014 release seems more likely now than the often suggested Fall 2014 release.

Space Dandy confirmed to air on Cartoon Network in January. I imagine it'll be Adult Swim, since I doubt Cartoon Network main would air it, so...

Well then, that's quite interesting. I assume that's the official site for it.

Anyway, translated though the wonders of chrome, it says this:

Broadcasting station decided! ! :
Posted October 25, 2013 Author: admin

Although it is TV broadcast from January 2014,

TOKYO MX · TV Osaka, TV Aichi · BS Fuji

Broadcasting in has been decided!
In addition, simulcast in North America and Asia is determined at the same time as Japan!
In North America, Cartoon Network
Asia (except Korea), it will be broadcast by Animax Asia.

Is determined not only Japan, developments in the world after another "Space ☆ Dandy".
To enjoy the broadcast from January ☆

Its an incredibly broken translation and this doesn't mean its going to air on Toonami as of yet.

That's Chrome for ya.

I think it's kinda suspicious, to be honest. If this is simulcasting, that would mean that a dub would have to be ready in advance for it, since we know Toonami won't do subs. Can they HAVE a dub ready in time?

I guess we'll find out tomorrow when DeMarco will probably comment on it.

A simulcast in North America? Has that ever been done before?

I mean, I know Viz does a simultaneous release of WSJ (and, hey, we just got the first world-wide simultaneous Pokemon release), but I've never heard of it for anime.

This article confirms that it'll be Adult Swim.

Specific text in question:

一方、北米は、1月のほぼ同時期から、カートゥーンネットワークのヤングアダルト向けの放映枠アダルトスイムとなる。

This translates to something like: "Meanwhile, in United Stated, it will broadcast in January at the same time on Cartoon Network's Young Adult (Network), Adult Swim."

It's also worth noting the article also mentions that they have broadcasted Cowboy Bebop for over 10 years.

EDIT: Update, it appears FUNimation has it according to this bit, unless I'm misunderstanding it:

北米での放送は英語吹替版となり、吹替版の制作は北米でのパッケージ販売や配信などを担当するファニメーションが担当する。

Google translation of the part of interest from the second article:
On the other hand, from the same time in January, North America, will be airtime Adult Swim Young Adult for the Cartoon Network. Japanese animation is broadcast many Adult Swim, "Cowboy Bebop" is known to have been repeat broadcasting without more than 10 years, a break almost among others. Broadcasting in North America is the English dubbed version, Funimation in charge of such delivery and package sales in North America is responsible for the production of the dub version.

Funimation is the studio dubbing it. Also nice that they gave a nod to the fact that Adult Swim aired Cowboy Bebop almost nonstop for over 10 years.

Kurokami the animation.

Edit: More confirmation that FUNimation has it. Directly from Bandai Visual.

So if it starts in January it will either take over for SAO or FLCL if they do 2 runs of the series.

I theorized that Toonami might double up on a show once FLCL ends in order to fill in the "gap" until the show's ready in January. Regardless, I'm sure Adult Swim will announce the details eventually in the next couple of weeks.

EDIT: Okay, nevermind. It's going to premiere BEFORE Japan (unless there's a schedule change) at 11:30PM on January 4th. Apparently the show is also set for 26 episodes, rather than what was originally announced.

With that, we've finally got a small expansion, guys!

A TV broadcast like this has never, ever happened before for the U.S I don't think. Kurokami was close but even that was on a minor TV network. This is bloody incredible.

This show................ single-handedly granted the block a half-hour expansion.

This show BETTER be damn good.

Well people whined and whined and whined and whined and whined and whined and whined and whined.......... *deeply inhales* ....and whined and whined and whined and freaking WHINED that Toonami was obselete, that they add American cartoons at all, that they air the same shows over and over again on the block and don't air newer shows to the block and that Neon Alley and Crunchyroll and Hulu and other streaming service are better (even though I've always found that comparing apples to oranges).

Well anime fans get exactly what they wanted and then some so
SHUT THE [BLEEP] UP ALREADY!!

Oh nice we get an expansion and 3 movie nights in December! I wonder what will air, Evangelion 3.33? Cowboy Bebop:KOHD? GITS? Full Metal Alchemist? Bleach? Naruto? One Piece? or something completely random and unexpected,

If it's something random and unexpected, my money's on Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.

3 movie nights in December? (also, is there any dst change in coming weeks (or months?)
IIRC, they said something like "we are working on something special" when a One Piece-related question was asked. So, they might air it soon, I am hoping...

Edit: So, dst is happening on Nov 2 and they will have to fill-up the 1AM slot, which is absolutely perfect for the One Piece special.

You know who has 3 movies that covers the pre-qualifier of being from a property that has never aired on Toonami before? Aniplex with their 3 Madoka movies. Of course there is the problem that movie 3 isn't dubbed yet, unless they're not telling us something.

Otherwise, I'm ecstatic that Space Dandy is coming. It's amazing that Toonami gets to break the midnight wall to do it as well and it's a world premiere also. That's an amazing feat and I can't wait to start the show.

* crosses fingers for Attack on Titan in 2014 *

WB has done so well with releasing the Paramount Popeye cartoons on home media that they should be chosen to distribute the long-delayed animated Popeye film that at various points was to be made by Sony and directed by Genndy Tartakovsky (who has a long association with WB sister property Cartoon Network).

Today marks the 25th Year Anniversary of when Pokémon Crystal was released in North America. To this day, the Johto Games remain my favorite games in the Pokémon Franchise.
Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
