So, as a collective, is everyone thrilled with the new Toonami (2012-current) or are we finding it merely adequate since the old Toonami is gone forever? Personally, I'm digging it and finding it entertaining, though do think of it as an evolution into something different more than I do as it being a true continuation of Toonami.

i feel its merely adequate. the various promos and intros aren't nearly as well done and they seem too content to air anything funimation gives them on the cheap. however, i like about one-third of the current programming and also the video game reviews.

Considering how their budget is still most likely small, I'm not surprised if they are too content to air anything that they can get for cheap. Granted, their budget should be much more than when the block was first brought back, but they probably still need to be mindful of what shows they pick up. Plus, I wouldn't be surprised if Funimation is more willing to compromise with them in regards to the prices for their shows, at least compared to other licensors like Viz Media.

Yes, it has nothing to do with it being an extremely lackluster series that tosses in perv stuff to try and bring in viewers.

Toonami 2.0 has surprised me a number of times and has already aired a pretty diverse lineup of programs when you step back and look at the big picture. There's certainly things on my wish list, but I'm satisfied.

Space Dandy's Season 2 will be coming to a close. Clone Wars is riding off into the sunset, and there's a realllly long Hellsing that night. Starting Oct 11th our regular line up for a while will be Bebop at 3:30a, and Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig at 4:30a

Nice premiere times going forward...I love that One Piece is back at 1 AM if only because it proves exactly what I've said about its status being fine all along. Maybe now we can not go through the "it got moved forward a half hour, so it's in big trouble" canard again for a good long awhile.

So I guess this means that the rights to Star Wars: The Clone Wars are reverting back to Lucasfilm/Disney. Man, that sucks. Two of my favorite Toonami shows are leaving on the same night.

Hopefully, Adult Swim pulled another Ghost in the Shell type of deal with Space Dandy and has perpetual television rights.

Okay shows are leaving, now perfect time for Fairy Tail to join the lineup. That is the only missing piece left.

Well there will be an open slot once Bleach ends November 1st. Granted it does well at it's slots but it seems like with how Toonami is operating they're not going to restart it from scratch after the last episode airs. I mean it's not like Space Dandy where it's something Toonami has direct money over or Attack on Titan which is a super new property... and you know those shows being only 26 episodes long. So I assume there is going to have to have something come in to replace it, and can't think of a long running show that has as much traction as Fairy Tail right now. Especially as it's a lighter series. We'll see though in October though as I'm sure if there is something replacing Bleach we'll hear it at least by Mid October.

I still don't really think that they need Fairy Tail on the lineup. I like the show, but Toonami doesn't need another long running series taking up a slot for years. Even after Bleach ends, there are still One Piece, DBZ Kai and Shippuden that will be on the block for years, so I don't think that we'd need a fourth long running series on the lineup. While I'd still watch it if it does air on the block, I also would prefer seeing them get a shorter series from Funimation instead.

I do like the new lineup. I was kind of hoping for something new to come in after Space Dandy ends, but moving One Piece back to 1AM is awesome. I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to air the three SJ series together again before Bleach ends in November. Beware the Batman airing at 2AM is also great and Hellsing Ultimate airing a bit earlier might make it easier for people to watch it on the block. At least I won't need to stay up as late as I have been for awhile to watch what I want to see on the lineup, so that's good for me.

Kill La Kill hasn't gotten it's turn and it deserves it way more than Fairy Tail. Same with Jojo. Either of those would be suitable additions to the block. FT isn't really needed. I'd rather they have Magi be on the block over FT. Plenty of shows are out there that would love to be on Toonami and aren't saddled with the burden of 100+ episodes and questionable quality. We have Naruto for that for the long term.
