I thought I heard somewhere that he wasn't paid, but I guess I just mixed it up with him agreeing to do it for little pay. Thanks for the clarification.

Either Steve or Jason explained that "doing it for the love" means that he was doing it for less than his standard fee.

Yeah, during Jason DeMarco's interview on the Toonami Faithful Podcast, he mentioned Steve Blum is getting paid "a tenth of his usual rate" to voice TOM, but has such a love for the character and the block that he's willing to do it for that little.

And it turns out Cowboy Bebop actually skipped ahead to episode 20 last night. I wonder why?

The question was recently answered on tumblr:

Just the way it was programmed. Bebop will be on for a long time to come, you’ll have a chance to see the eps again!

I found a few answers very interesting:

*There was a note that we should stay tuned if we want to know if the intruder survived(?!)
*If we keep staying tuned we will most likely get to see what's up with Tom 4.
*FLCL and Big O are currently "resting".

I'm not too surprised to hear that. They probably want to give the series a full run on Toonami and the ratings have been pretty decent for the most part. Although, I am kind of disappointed that they aren't airing the original FMA series. It hasn't aired on Adult Swim for a long time and even though Brotherhood follows the manga storyline, it would be kind of interesting to see the differences between the two series, especially since there's a chance that there are plenty of people who watch Toonami and haven't seen the original series.

Here's some interesting information from Toonami's tumblr today:

- They no longer have the rights to air Deadman Wonderland, Casshern Sins, and Durarara!!
- The reason why their show pages are still up is because "web isn't TV."

I guess this pretty much confirms that they license all FUNimation anime for one run only, not just Deadman Wonderland.

I think I'm more disappointed that they don't have the license to air Durarara!! than I am with losing the license to Deadman Wonderland and Casshern Sins. Deadman Wonderland was surprisingly entertaining, along the lines of a popcorn movie, but not something I'd want to see again. Casshern Sins was more interesting and it really improved in the second half, but I don't know if I'd want it on the block again. Although, even without the license issue, I couldn't see them airing Casshern Sins again given the ratings it normally got. Durarara!! would have fit on the block pretty well and maybe it could have worked during Brotherhood's slots. It would have been nice to see the series again.

I imagine that this would probably connect to their small budget and airing the series once would save them from spending more money to keep them around for another run. Personally, while I'm disappointed that they don't have Durarara!! available, it's probably for the best since they can try to get new and hopefully better shows, which is what the block really needs. Although, given the first impression I got of GXP, I'm thinking that they were running really low for a new show and just went with a really cheap one that they could afford.

I think bla was referring to the tumblr post RockmanDash mentioned, where they're hinting that the Intruder may come back.

Looks like the Adult Swim grid schedule is actually right. According to the Toonami Tumblr, Bleach WILL be on hiatus starting December 1st, and for about 8 weeks. Honestly, if Bleach has to wait for additional new episodes from VIZ, I think they should use that time to air FLCL instead of Bleach re-runs. It's almost as long as that frame of time and it would still be new to Toonami.

I would have preferred that they put Bleach on break AFTER the arc is over, but oh well.

I do wonder if Bleach reruns will lead off the block while it's on hiatus. Seems like that might be a bad idea tho/they could do better. Maybe the reason for ending bebop sooner is to temporarily replace the hour of Bebop with an Hour of Bleach and put something else at Midnight? I feel like the Bleach hour might bump the FMA hour later tho..
