I must have been the only one that didn't expect an anime after Deadman Wonderland ends, but then again, I didn't care as long as we got a new show after Casshern Sins ended.

However, as I stated before, shouldn't we be concern about Samurai 7's ratings? It's not exactly the most accessible show if the first episode indicated anything. And I feel as Panty and Stocking With Garterbelt would have been a better choice.

It's better than nothing and I'm not going to throw a hissy fit about it (thought I am disappointed that we're left with a likely bomb), but there's good reasons why the Adult Swim Toonami forum is throwing a fit over this.

I'm hoping Samurai 7 is a placeholder. I also hope that some of the "6 or 7 things" that Demarco mentioned are some new anime acquisitions but unfortunately that seems like wishful thinking at this point. I seriously hope people support the block enough for it to have a long lifespan. That being said, I haven't seen Samurai 7 as of yet and despite its age I'm still interested in watching it.

I am a bit worried but it;s definently a better pick ratings wise than Sins was so I think it has a chance at doing decently. Its good a pretty good amount of action.

I haven't heard of Samurai 7 until now, so I'll be sure to check it out on Toonami when it premieres. I'm kind of bummed that the Deadman Wonderland OVA won't be airing on Toonami, even though it doesn't really have anything to do with the plot. I'm also kind of surprised that Deadman Wonderland is completely off the schedule instead of Ghost in the Shell or Cowboy Bebop. Those two have been on non-stop way too long. They need breaks.

From what I hear, Samurai 7 has been on 3 channels in the US-- IFC, Animania , FUNimation Channel, and it's on Netflix. I don't think the ratings will be low, but I'm kind of worried that it might end up like Casshern Sins. It's apparently a heavy-dialogue show like Moribito. Hopefully the Bleach canon episodes will give the show a boost.

I started watching Panty and Stocking uncensored, and I'm starting to think it wouldn't be a good idea to air it on Toonami. A LOT of the words would have to be bleeped out, ruining most of the jokes in the process. It just wouldn't be the same if it was censored. And even if there were bleeped out words, I still think some of the imagery and language would be too raunchy even for Toonami. There's no real nudity or anything, but it comes close, and it would still probably be too inappropriate.

I still think Madoka would work on Toonami. It has far less cursing and raunchiness than P&S, if any at all, while still being dark and mature. It also has some creepy and creative visuals.

Samurai 7 is a good one. As stated, it's been on TV before (I caught it on the IFC run), but a lot of people haven't seen it. Toonami is it's low tier cable debut. It is very Moribito, I'm not sure how it'll work out having 2 slow paced shows on in a row, but it's a good sign that they still got a show like this after Casshern. It means we probably don't have anything to worry about RE: Casshern ratings.

As for PG&S, it's really no worse than any of the comedies running now. Black Dynamite for instance.

Samurai 7 is an accessible anime so it has that going for it. It sure wasn't the show I was expecting to come in August not that I was sure of anything in particular. This choice feels like another case of the programmer letting their preference rule but at least this time the show isn't polarizing to mainstream viewers.

I enjoyed it a while back and I'll watch it again.

I'm much more concerned that they are keeping both GitS and Cowboy Bebop. Ghost in the Shell has held on to FMAB's ratings well enough to possibly earn another run following it but Cowboy Bebop's ratings have been getting worse and worse lately and that should not be rewarded with another run but on the other hand it's one of the most accessible anime ever made and a fresh start gives it the opportunity to get new viewers. Of course they are not likely to advertise that fresh start for Cowboy Bebop or Ghost in the Shell which lessens the potential success of both this run. They're the kind of shows that you have no idea how far along in the story you really are if you've never seen them before.

I think they should drop Cowboy Bebop for a moment and swap in InuYasha at 2:30/5:30 or bump FMAB and GitS a half hour later to bring Deadman Wonderland to 1:30 for a second run.

Back to the positive side of things... 3 fresh shows in less than a year bodes well for Toonami, as does 3 premieres every week since day 1. The future has been secured indeed.

Regarding P&SG, it has episodes that would make Metalocalypse, Black Dynamite, Superjail, Robot Chicken and Aqua Teen blush. Episodes centered on sperm ghosts A big breasted ghost shooting cream out of it's nipples in grotesque fashion? Heck the first episode probably has more excrement piled up than Adult Swim has ever shown. I think they could handle most episodes but some of them out-raunch the crudest shows on Adult Swim.

I would still love to see Madoka on Toonami. From what I've heard, it would fit really nicely with the tone of the block and I don't want to spend a hundred dollars just to get the series on DVD. Though, that show is probably too expensive for the budget at the moment, but hopefully it can get on the block at some point.

I don't mind Cowboy Bebop sticking around for another run. I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to give the series a complete Toonami run for the heck of it. Plus, I've only seen the last few episodes completely and I would be interested in seeing the whole run of the series, especially when I haven't seen most of the series before anyway.

Samurai 7 very nearly wound up on either Toonami or Adult Swim back in 2005 but Williams Street was outbid by IFC so this is kinda karmic. And shows WS' determination to get a show even if they have to wait.

At the same time, though . . . Samurai 7 is showing up seven years too late at the wrong timeslot replacing the wrong show. Samurai 7 should be taking Casshern's place in November, not Deadman's place now. I'm not really that happy about this one. The show is not even going to pop up as new in DVRs.

I, like many of you, saw Samurai 7 on IFC six years ago. Hell, I even OWN it now.

This will be the first time I've collected an anime BEFORE seeing it on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim. They've already given me five series (six, once I get Durarara!! on Amazon).

Oh well, it's actually a very good show with fun characters and excellent giant mecha action scenes. Plus I'll probably watch it anyway, since I owe it an episode guide on the TZ Wiki.

Well, it's at least good to see Adult Swim giving it a chance.
I just hope it does well in the ratings.

I'm also A-Okay with Cowboy Bebop restarting its run.
I've never seen the show all the way through, so I look forward to seeing it from the beginning.

It looks like they aren't airing the OVA, which is too bad since I would be interested in seeing if that offers any more conclusion to the series.

It doesn't. The DW OVA is more of a standalone backstory about one of the characters in the show than a continuation. You wouldn't miss very much.

That's too bad. I was hoping that the OVA was more like a brief continuation of the series. Now I don't feel as disappointed that it isn't airing on Toonami if that's the case.

Nice pick up. Samurai 7 is really good anime and its one I own but I'll still tune in to watch.

So much for Funimation not being able to get anything on TV anymore. They're 3/3 so far with Toonami

I assure you there is action in it. A LOT of action.

It doesn't really drop any major fight scenes on you until just about midway through, so just stick with it. It will surely not disappoint.

I've never seen Samurai 7 so it will be a bit of a treat to be able to see it through Toonami, hopefully it's enjoyable and something I can get into and from the description of the show it appears that it could be interesting. Hopefully more new shows are announced soon and maybe some new TOM animations too, that was be really neat.
