"Toonami" News & Discussion Thread

There are some FMP and Black Lagoon rumors on the AS boards. You hear anything?

DeMarco seems to have just debunked FMP and Black Lagoon. Or at the very least, we are not going to be told about said series potentially airing yet :P

Jason DeMarco tweeted that Eureka Seven will be able to finish its run on Toonami regardless of what happens to Bandai, but he's not sure if it'll affect the block itself in any way.

well at the very least TOM will be forced to stop teasing with Gundam W/Outlaw Star dvd promos

DeMarco tweeted something interesting! I'm glad that toonami will be getting some weekday love!

Here's the Dragoncon Toonami panel:

Haha! I remember that whole Hamtaro mistake with the train episode of Kenshin. :p

That entire panel was very interesting, and it brought the truth that people really need to keep watching if they want to see the block staying around.

I was there. Actually at some points you can see me putting my badge in front of the camera. I was right beside it so you might actually hear me at times.

If they are going to air shows on weekdays, I am thinking Euerka Seven ought to air there. Either in addition to the Saturday airing, or in place of it.

There's no plan to have Toonami on weekdays. Jason DeMarco was referring to a promo for Toonami that is currently being made and will be shown on Weekdays.

If Toonami would to air on Weekdays, Eureka 7 would not be a good show to air. It doesn't really get good ratings, and Weekday timeslots are a little too valuable for an under performing show to air. Bleach and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood would do better, but even then they wouldn't do well enough for [adult swim] to seriously consider having a weekday Toonami at this point.
Watching that video brought back so many memories!
Uh....What video?

Sorry I misunderstood.

That video lol....you probably passed it without noticing it

Bleach would be great on weekdays. They haven't stripped it since the Soul Society arc was airing, and there's plenty of episodes that have only aired once.

(Of course, it'll never happen, but it's still nice to think of the possibility...)

While Adult Swim stopped streaming Deadman Wonderland episodes, FUNimation is beginning to post the dubbed episodes to Hulu and their YouTube channel. So far the first two episodes are up. Also, there are no more bleeps in the episodes. It was also nice to see the full opening with the English credits.

EDIT: Jason DeMarco tweeted that tomorrow we'll be seeing a speech about haters.

Yeah, I saw that. The thing that disturbs me is that most what I originally thought was behind the bleeps ending up being even more vulgar. o.o

So I guess any special bumps that air will happen during Bleach then because I started watching during Samurai 7 but didn't see anything other normal bumps

WB has done so well with releasing the Paramount Popeye cartoons on home media that they should be chosen to distribute the long-delayed animated Popeye film that at various points was to be made by Sony and directed by Genndy Tartakovsky (who has a long association with WB sister property Cartoon Network).

Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
