Fairy Tail isn't airing on Toonami. Zoombie just linked a "what if" video.

Yeah I said so before Fairy Tail is not on Toonami, it is not even the real Fairy Tail dub, it is a abridged series promo (which is actully not that bad, it is no Team Four Stars, but still is good than most abridged, and their Pokemon abridged series is good too)

Also, according to a FUNimation representative, Attack on Titan is scheduled for a Spring 2014 home video release. Apparently, the show can't air on Toonami before it's released.

It would do fine. Besides, ratings obviously aren't the primary concern of DeMarco, otherwise One Piece would have probably moved down by now.

Even though One Piece continually performs well and has broken the million mark several times?

And if SAO can perform decently on Toonami, I think almost anything can.

Eh, things like that really don't bother me. That's probably the reason why SAO hasn't alienated me yet. The only show I truly hate is E7: AO.

Can't say I knew that something like that annoyed a lot of people. The only places I really comment online are the Toonami forums around the web, and occasionally the premiere discussions for Toonami shows. I never really got into forums any more than that.

But now I know. And knowing is half the battle.

Keep in mind, the FUNi Rep I spoke with could have been misinformed. Either that, or the Japanese studios have a weird requirement in their contract. Why would you want the DVDs out before a TV airing? A TV airing would gain more exposure and promote more DVD sales later.

I'm pretty sure that Sword Art Online did start its run on Toonami before it was released on DVD. I think that the DVD came out four or five weeks after it started, but I might be mistaken. I'm not sure why they wouldn't want Attack on Titans on TV before the DVDs are out. Like Ishtar mentioned, a TV airing would provide the show with more exposure, which would potentially help with DVD sales. It seems like an odd requirement.

You aren't. The SAO blu-rays started showing up week 4.

Of course said blu-rays have always been a few weeks ahead of Toonami in terms of where they are in the episode count (as of Tuesday when the first volume of Fairy Dance ships, they will be eight episodes ahead).

I sure hope that's wrong about the home video needing to be out before it can air on Toonami. That kind of thing makes some sense for a well established show that's getting a continuation such as Naruto Shippuden or InuYasha: The Final Act which sold plenty fine without Adult Swim's airing either yet (though Shippuden ran on DXD for a time). I guess they feel they'll lose potential buyers if it's available on TV in HD at no additional cost than what someone pays for cable but they're already giving the Japanese episodes away with no cost other than watching commercials in the case of Hulu viewers and week 2 Crunchyroll viewers.

There's also the simple matter that shows can usually air on TV before they are allowed to be put on Blu-Ray because of reverse importation concerns.

If that's not just a distributor mandate specifically for Attack on Titan and more of a general FUNimation policy now then that changes expectation criteria a bit.

Unrelated to that: Sara could have been a good SARA.
