Did they? Because I watched every episode since Bebop came back and it wasn't in HD.

Yep, looks like the schedule changes are more dramatic than what was first reported. Now we're looking at midnight to 3:30 AM and a lineup that is full of premieres, with the exception of Deadman Wonderland at 3. Reruns are all but dead.

That was my reaction when I saw this in news a Toonami thread elsewhere a few minutes ago.

I never thought I would be able to see Toonami die a second death, but maybe I might get lucky enough and see this one die too. I can't contain my excitement at the possibility of this going away.

I would've liked to see Kill la Kill air before Kai, but that just means I'll watch it On Demand instead of live. I refuse to give Kai any kind of attention whether on tv or their website. Even the other show I dislike got punished.

A great news day for me. I can barely form coherent sentences right now.

I wouldn't say Miller has an anti-action posture, simply because action animation going on the back burner for mainline Cartoon Network was something that took place prior to her hiring in the middle of 2014. She's simply presiding over an established status quo. Also, can we really blame all the ratings stuff on the Dish network thing? I don't buy that the powers that be didn't take that into account.

Then there's the fact that a number of notable acquisitions would have occurred on Miller's watch. So far as new content goes, that's coming along the same as ever.

The write-offs of Sym-Bionic Titan, Young Justice, and Beware The Batman also happened on Miller's watch. Near the beginning of her tenure, actually.

I am sure the powers than be have to know the Dish thing is partially to blame for this. I'm not sure they care. When you look at the CN schedule and what the AS schedule is rapidly becoming it's clear what the agenda is, and what doesn't fit with the agenda has gotten moved out of the way.

Toonami is the most visible thing in the way, so we're noticing it big time, but it's been happening to everything on the CN and AS schedules that doesn't fit in with the burgeoning homogeneity that Miller seems to be imposing. The schedules are becoming reminiscent of a typical Nickelodeon schedule . . . on a exceptionally bad day.

Not sure myself on the HD part, but the dialogue is the original. Notably, 'shiitake' is uncensored. In the edited version it was usually replaced with 'hell', so there is that.

This is definitely not Toonami or Adult Swim's decision here. That definitely adds correlation if not an outright anecdotal connection to what I've been suggesting.

Up until now, Toonami/Adult Swim decided Toonami's schedule. They are no longer doing that.

Shades of 2008. I think the best thing we can do is enjoy the ride and hope Toonami purchased their 2015 acquisitions early because when what they have runs out I think the ride's over. The more Toonami has on tap for 2015 the longer the ride will be.

Considering that both Gurren Lagann and Deadman Wonderland are expected to end their runs simultaneously near the end of March, one has to hope they have something coming down the pipes to fill the void. At this point, I think Midnight-3am on Saturdays is where we are eventually heading, which is back to where Toonami was when it was revived back in 2012.

On top of that, he's not the top guy. A call not made by him doesn't = Adult Swim not calling the shot.

It's wearying to see blame cast on just about anything except ratings. Occam's Razor. The back half of Toonami was always the soft half.

Another thing that bothers me is some people out there getting vindictive *against* Adult Swim, forgetting that all along this has been Toonami **ON ADULT SWIM**. There's an old saying about not biting the hand that feeds you...

Aren't we being a tad melodramatic and overreactive here? I don't see DeMarco freaking out over this, and Toonami's his baby. I mean, who's to say the ratings won't jump back up and Toonami will gain that time back?

Really, I think we should just wait for the dust to settle and see where things go from there.

Is it just me or is AS over reliant on the Fox shows. What are they going to do if Fox ever decides not to renew and put said shows on FXX with the Simpsons.

I have a feeling a big part of AS's budget is keeping those shows on constant renewal and making sure their contracts never run out. Seriously up to at least 7/10 of every night of programming are FOX series reruns. And the parts that aren't usually aren't even at the prevelent viewing hours. Sadly I did comment on this before that AS taking the 5AM slot made no sense for comedy shows at all and what did they expect Toonami would get at that hour. I think what people are fearful, as am I, is that AS is just using this as an excuse to snuff out Toonami and action series in general form the line up And point at ratings and say certain shows just get more watches and thus cut the block down because of it. Since yeah I remember back when the original Toonami was gutted on Saturday night to two hours instead of four and the reasoning of that. Of course to be fair at least the schedule is still decent and honestly focused on just having premieres and variety at least of programs. It's not just an hour of Naruto and a couple other random series like Toonami was in it's last dying days. I would like to be positive in the block still going well and maybe one day claiming those spots back but... AS has been rather stubborn in once it has a FOX series at a certain time, not really changing it out unless it's for another FOX series. Though again that isn't just bad news for Toonami but for Cartoon Network in general: I guarantee you if AS ever gets the Simpsons, CN is going to at least loose it's 7PM hour. Maybe more honestly.

Doesn't FXX have the Simpsons exclusively for reruns. I'm just concerned that FOX won't renew with AS and sell the shows to FXX to compete with CN/AS.

As much as a lot of us would like that to happen, [as] probably has safeguards out the butt to prevent Fox from ever moving their shows to FXX.
