I do believe it is the case with any Warner show already purchased by Turner that paperwork is all that is required for AS to air it while it remains under the Turner broadcast contract. Or at the very least Jason said ThunderCats cost them nothing to air. ThunderCats cable rights will eventually return to Warner to sell to whoever wants them.

Yeah I can't say I expect Warner to spice up the first season of ThunderCats. They might loosen up a bit more for a second season depending on what international distribution warrants.

Well looks like Bleach has made it's comeback thanks to new episodes being back and Naruto broke 1mil as usual. Shame TCats didn't break 1mil again but it still did pretty great and so did S7. Really hoping we learn what's replacing s7 soon since it'll be ending next week. Hopefully this Saturday we learn what the show is, and if it actually is completely new like the rumors suggest, then they should push promotion a little earlier this time.

Well how about that? A night where they mostly gradually decreased. 1.4 million for Bleach shows the value of prepping people for new episodes and making sure they know when they air. Bleach also bested both The Boondocks and Black Dynamite as well as the 9:30 Saturday Family Guy. If Naruto can do the same, 11PM will be very within Toonami's reach.

Naruto losing over 200k from Bleach is distressing though. That's what most shows do and Naruto should do better than most shows given it has occasionally beat Bleach. Too much drama in the Zabuza arc perhaps? It would probably be wise of them to push Naruto to 1AM so a new show can benefit from Bleach unless Naruto can close that gap in the coming weeks.

A nice week for Eureka 7, managing to beat GXP this time and a good bounce back for FMAB. I'm kind of surprised InuYasha didn't do better but oh well.

What's great , is of 152 broadcasts, Bleach was in the top 50 at #49! -- Naruto at #91. 2 anime/Toonami shows in the top 100. Great stuff

It looks like the block had some great ratings this week. Bleach and Naruto continue to break the one million mark. Thundercats wasn't able to do that, but both that and Samuari 7 still did really well. Sym-Bionic Titan did well and even Eureka Seven did better than it has for the past few weeks. I am curious as to what show they'll replace Samurai 7 with. If it is a brand new show, then it would be nice to have a more promotion, although they'll probably wait until after Samurai 7 finishes before revealing what new show they'll have, especially if they make any other changes to the schedule.

Awesome Bleach! I don't think the gap is too bad for Naruto. The Bleach return was hyped a lot. I imagine a good bunch was there for that and not really Toonami, and this was the return itself.

With that kind of drop following a Bleach prem, Naruto dissapointed. See DW's drop during Bleach filler last summer to understand why. I can think of many MA rated anime that would've held better. Similarly with TCats. Samurai 7 held nicely but it's to be expected with how satisfying that series concludes. The ep of TCats & S-BT were kind of lame so those drops are no surprise. The funk music of E7 was tailor made to catch the attention of the 2a returning home crowd so I'm not surprised with it's jump from last week. That GXP ep was very lame so that hold is surprising. The rest was pretty much normal behavior with both IY beating the 2nd ep of CB.

If there's no recent anime coming then I'm hoping for Utawarerumono to replace TCats, Basilisk for S7, & Witchblade for S-BT. FUNIMATION's Utawarerumono tests whether TCats TOONAMI success extends to furries in general. None of these series are recent so I'm thinking the 3 of them should cost no more than the lucky 7's did considering their ep lengths (lt 26 ep).

Not only is YJ #1 for Sat CN, but it's also #1 in 18-49 on the day so there has to be room for it on TOONAMI. Similarly, Gumball filler lost 300k from Hoodwinked. DC Nation can do better there which helps [as] with a better lead-in.

Actually, it looks like Sym-Bionic Titan is getting another run. Samurai 7's replacement is blank, obviously, as they don't want to ruin the surprise. You can argue that the schedule isn't finalized and Sym-Bionic Titan could still get replaced, but I for one think the schedule will likely play out like this. If they had planned to replace Sym-Bionic Titan, the timeslot for the following weeks would be blank like Samurai 7's is. You can also argue that Sym-Bionic Titan is simply still listed as a placeholder, but when they have done that in the past with other shows the episode numbers aren't included. Thundercats will probably get another run too, especially with the ratings it continues to get. One reason Toonami has for keeping both shows on the lineup would be to retain the variety of American action cartoons, so it is not just anime. Plus, as they are CN originals, Toonami can air them repeatably without paying for additional broadcasts.

NICE. Bleach surprises us with over 1.4 million, the highest it's ever got on Toonami. Of course, with all the promotion and the return to new episodes, that's to be expected.

Naruto is still doing really well. Even with that 200,000+ drop from Bleach, this is still it's second best night.

It's too bad that S7 isn't scoring at least 1,000,000; I feel it deserves more viewers. Still, though, 921,000 isn't something to laugh at.

I hope they rerun SBT and TC. I missed a few and I really want to see them again on Toonami.

Even when Young Justice finishes airing new episodes, who says CN won't still rerun it on DC Nation for at least a few months? They might rerun it on DC Nation if it doesn't end when one of the two new DC shows are ready to air. It would probably take them awhile to get it on the block, but I could see it getting there eventually if they want Young Justice on Toonami.

If they play YJ on Toonami this year it probably wont be until Summer or Fall, or at least some time after ThunderCats finishes it's current run.

Actually, it looks like Sym-Bionic Titan is getting another run.

I hope this isn't indicative of Naruto eating the budget for new (TV14/MA) shows. Still I can't argue with the results. The 11p Will St hr gained 8% yr-over, & the 12a TOONAMI hr gained 33%. Bleach gained nearly 32% & Naruto bested Brotherhood by 34%. I hope that means growth in TOONAMI's budget before the debut of FOX's adhd block.

Whether it's mostly due to Cleve, Bleach promotion, or the combination of Bleach & Naruto fan bases, these combined efforts clearly worked their magic & that bodes well for TOONAMI. It should be easier for DeMarco to get more promo time & gain more support for expansion to 11p. I'm adamantly against immediate 2nd runs for what I consider barely PG rated shows in comparison with everything that airs on [as] right now. I would rather DW gets a 2nd run before S-BT or TCats as it's seasonal avg was stronger than either of these in 18+. But it's possible they just paid for a 1 & done on this & they don't have it any more

As for YJ, it's finally gotten interesting again after being bogged down in Reach battles of villians most viewers won't even remember. If it continues to beat everything else on Sat's other than a few choice FLicks, it's going to be hard to cancel it because popular chars usually = good licensing rev. I don't think it needs to be canceled before TOONAMI airs it. CW has been shared between CN/[as] before & with SW now being Disney, I would think DC matters more as far as expanded exposure.

I'm pretty sure that it's already cancelled. I'd just prefer to see the series finishes it run on Cartoon Network before getting on Toonami, although I don't know if it's necessary for them to do that. They would need to get it setup, if they are interested in airing the series, and I don't know how long that takes.

Unless a show gets really stellar ratings, I honestly feel this is the better option. Casshern in particular suffered with mediocre ratings for most of its run, so I can't imagine what it would get for a second run.

As far as new show choices, I really do hope the next new show is not another budget buy FUNimation title that is from 2006 or older. We need something fresh like Deadman Wonderland was. Even Naruto wasn't exactly a fresh choice, as these are only reruns of the original series that aired years ago. Had it have been Naruto Shippuden premieres, ratings would likely be even better, but sadly DisneyXD is playing keep-away with that show. There has to be something newer out there that is in Toonami's price range, as there are plenty of titles that are not breakout hits from Japan.
