Toonami Ratings

Interesting that the encore block dissappears. Hope this means the encore viewers will watch the first run and push the first two hours to a million viewers.

That can't be a good sign for the block.

Uh....what isn't? Symbionic Titan and Thundercats are comming to the block and the hour blocks of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Ghost in the Shell, and Cowboy Bebop aren't bad at all. And with the A Cetain Magical Index, Inuyasha Final Act, and other Funimation show rumors, the block's future actually looks brighter now.

I don't quite see how this is a bad sign for the block either. Extending it to a six hour block can help get more people to watch the first half, instead of waiting for the 3AM repeats, which could increase ratings and while I'm not that excited for Sym-Bionic Titan or Thundercats coming to the block, it does add in some diversity to the lineup instead of just being all anime. Considering that the block has only been around for about four months and it is getting an extension already, although mainly full of repeats, the future of the block looks pretty good to me.

Sounds like somebody didn't even bother to actually read the headlines.

Moving FG up might indicate minor expansion in 2013.

Extending it to a 6 hr block can help get more people to watch the first 1/2.
It's already 6 hr so what you really meant to say is 6 encore free hrs. Expansion to 7 hrs is definitely possible in 2013 because of the arrival of FOX AD HD at 11p. An ex [as] chieftain of programming is heading that effort & it's likely to kill any comedy [as] puts there. Tosh.O premieres beat AD badly at 10p on Tues night & I'm guessing FOX doesn't want [as] airing AD shows vs AD HD so I don't see any original that will hold up against those premiere's on FOX.

I don't think the absence of a Bleach encore is going to pad 12a much. The 3a viewer is probably a bar-hopper of sorts, so not having Bleach on when they return might lead a Nielsen home to record 12a. If it's dvr though there's a better than 50% chance the ads will be skipped. It will be interesting to see those #'s because it might give a good indication of how many Nielsen college students have lost their dvr's in the wake of this depressed economy.

And with the A Cetain Magical Index, Inuyasha Final Act, and other Funimation show rumors
Inuyasha:Final Act is VIZ though considering Neon Alley is getting some FUNimation shows I wouldn't put it past VIZ to license it to FUN for cable & then let FUN use it as part of a bigger agreement with [as]. I know nothing about Magical Index but the buzz seems to be building on it so it's worth checking out at Hulu/Croll. I think another possible title is Blue Exorcist as it's likely to appeal to Bleach fans.

I wouldn't consider Toonami before this news a six hour block. It really ran from midnight until 3AM since they always ended it with the "Later" bump to single the end of the block and the later hours were just encores of what had previous aired. So, it was really two airings of a three hour block before. I don't know how possible it is to get the block started at 11PM instead of midnight, but I wouldn't be against it.

It looks like Samurai 7 finally caught up to Deadman Wonderland's ratings! Nice to see Bleach get over a million viewers again too. It's interesting that Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood does better than Eureka Seven. Maybe it would've done better had it been in the 1:30AM slot. I wonder how well these shows will do on the first week of October now that there won't be a repeat block anymore.

looking good I hope thundercats will catch on I love that sshow I'm sure SBT Will do okay it already has a pretty large fanbase

I'm glad to see that Samurai 7 got some pretty nice ratings here and I think the ratings overall were pretty good. I wonder how the ratings will turn out in October now that there won't be a repeat slot for the block as well.

Bleach back over a million and Samurai 7 wasn't far behind in the high 900,000s. Those are also better than average for Casshern. E7 had a rough night but at least it's over 500,000. Still losing to FMAB again is not a good sign but it's all but assured it wont be doing that much if at all in October but I would not be surprised to see ThunderCats and even Sym-Bionic Titan beat Eureka 7 and likely help E7 out as well.

It's no wonder Bleach got a million though because Family Guy almost got 2 million and even though BD lost a lot of that and Boon lost even a bit more, Bleach was able to keep most of the Boondocks viewers. Double Family Guy bodes well for Saturday's prime time ratings and those should lift the early Toonami block despite BD's performance and if BD continues to drag things down then all the more reason to let Toonami have 11PM in 2013.

Bleach is still way down compared to Q3 of last yr but then so is Boon. Unfortunately they are being stubborn with Black Dynamite. S1 is done, but they are re-running it on Sat. http://video.adultswim.com/schedule/onair.html. The ET grids here are showing VB, KotH, & AD*2, before BD but that's probably what they intended before adding Clev to Sat's. The link shows VB, FG*2, Clev as the regular lead for BD now. As for Bleach, maybe last yr's #'s are not possible any more, but this summer's high was 1274. I think Bleach has to at least return to that level to say the fans are back.

With Hotel Transylvania doing really well at the box office so far, perhaps that will work in Symbionic Titan's favor simply for having Genndy attached to both. Though it would even work better more so if Adult Swim is smart enough to acknowledge that in upcoming promos.

Genndy Tartakovsky's the director of HT. What a small world! I wonder if that was the driving reason for DeMarco to choose ST. It's too bad he doesn't have the power to pull BD out of there. I don't get why re-running BD on Sat is more important than airing encore's of RC & SJ prem's.

Aren't all of those #s in the P2 category? I thought [as] only cared for the 18-34 demos

(and yes, I know about sons of the bronx where these are found, unless there's another out there~)

It's because they seem intent on airing the Cleveland Show, Black Dynamite and Boondocks together as a block of black-centered comedies. The problem of course is Black Dynamite just isn't getting the ratings, and therefore making the rest of the night suffer.

Speaking of Robot Chicken, I recently had an odd thought concerning it. We technically may see it on Toonami, but only for one occasion. When Star Wars Episode II and Episode III are re-released in theaters next year. When Episode I was re-released this year, Adult Swim Action was pre-empted in favor of Star Wars related programming, including the Robot Chicken specials. I could easily see them making Toonami air such programming during the appropriate time. Though I wouldn't mind seeing Genndy's Clone Wars mini series air on Toonami again.

Based on the weekly Turner reports which go back several yrs, [as] age demo priority is : 18-24 > 18-34 > 18-49 > 25-54 > 12-24 > HH. Males > Fems as well. TOONAMI sponsors though seem to be targeting 12-24 the most. About 1/3rd of the ads show up on CN, Vortex, Nick, etc. & they are targeting mostly 12-17. While they are P2 #'s, that scale is likely to hold for 12+ & 18+. If Bleach is beating E7 by say 30% in HH viewers, it's likely beating it by 30% in 12+ & 18+ as well.

Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
