Upcoming Nick Programming

So now that there was a sneak peak (versus that awful online pilot) what do y'all think about BW? Personally, I've warmed up to it. Might be a little overwhelming and I hope it's not too hyper/impulsive and actually has plot lines, but I think its vibrant and jazzed enough to keep kids interested. It has the "bromance" premise, but seems pretty unique and not to "surreal" like CNs new shows. And I think the oddity of the art gives it something different as well, with flash animation incorporated.

I think it'll fit great between SJC and RI. And the FOP-SBSP-SJC-BW-RI block is pretty nice. Not too long (especially since FOP and SBSP won't be premiering regularly) and clearly a K2-11 demo that works well together.

While its clearly not the abomination I thought it was, it looks like BW is still far from great. I'm generally a fan of bromance-type show (Sanjay and Craig and Regular Show are some of my favorite shows), this doesn't seem quite as appealing. I have no real gripes with the show as of yet, as the acting is fine and the animation is passable, though I am a little disturbed by all the butt shots in the show after only two sneak peaks. Nothing really stands out IMO. I just hope it doesn't end up being a Fanboy and Chum Chum-esque Nicktoon, with the main characters being extremely annoying, that got old quick.

Yes, shows like FBaCC and Planet Sheen were some low moments for Nick animation. Still, I think this show could resonate with fans, especially between SJC and RI. Anyway, Nick basically has EWW, BW and Power Rangers Super Megaforce to premiere and I doubt anything new until summer.

Perhaps a sign of things to come regarding theatrical movies airing on the channel, Nick will be airing The Spiderwick Chronicles on Sunday, Jan. 12, at 9 p.m. After SDR/IM premieres. Now I could be wrong, but this is a Nick premiere of the movie right? And if so, this is a great move for Nick to tap into its partnership with Paramount and get more of these movies on the network. Would be nice if it wasn't a Sunday at 9 p.m., but if it's a sign to come, great start because this is a great movie.

Nope, that's a Nick at Nite premiere. I don't expect it to perform well since it doesn't have a great lead in.

I don't get why it's so hard to acquire movies from its sister company Paramount. I'm also surprised they haven't gotten the rights to air Rango, and movie which they co produced.

Rango was sold to FX.

I was watching Sanjay and Craig on On Demand and I saw a promo saying Breadwinners is coming Feb 22 at 7 PM

Are you sure that time is correct? 7pm? That's very odd. Is Nick planning on extending its Saturday night block and inserting animated shows?

I think what Nick is going to do is air the SB special Monday, February 17, @ 7, followed by a preview of Breadwinners @ 7:30.

Well that's interesting. Perhaps BW premiere will follow a SJC premiere on the 22nd?

Or it sneak peaks that Monday after SBSP and airs a second new episode on Feb. 22? The 11 a.m. solidifies TMNT moving to Sundays.

Well I guess its a lock that TMNT is moving to Sunday. Hopefully Nick pushes that move well, because Sunday is not an established premiere day and is very unpredictable ratings-wise. As for BW,hopefully it finds an audience between SJC and RI. By then, SJC, and hopefully FOP will be premiering again.

Decided to catch EWW. Oh man, the acting and editing was horrible. The budget on the show makes ATV look top tier. All in all. It was painfully bad.

Wow, you were brave enough to watch it? You deserve an award, lmao!

In all seriousness though, can't believe Nick is wasting their time with this series. If HOA couldn't work on the channel, what made them think EWW way would?

Hate to say this, but I hope this series bombs so Nick could ship it off to TeenNick, sadly, though I have a feeling they'll stick with the series despite the ratings.

HoA did great its first season and ok in its second. Plus, it was a decent kids drama and obviously had a lot put into it. Not ashamed Nick had that show on air.

However, EWW is just a mess and lives up to its acronym. Nick will probably stick with it because they've been much better with following thru with their shows, but good lord this show isn't even TeenNick worthy. Viacom has 40 episodes ordered for this show. Man... I hope it doesn't get that next 40.

The worst part is the promo time EWW got that could've gone to Nicks live action this Saturday.

EWW is a Nicks American adaptation to Nick Latin's show Grachi, which is about a high school witch.

In this case Nick should've just kept House of Anubis and renewed it for a 4th season instead of airing Every Witch Way. That crap of a show makes HoA look good. If only Nick could learn from their mistakes.

Yeah, and the fact that the show had a low budget (lower than Anubis) obviously means that Nick had no faith in the series.

I really hope Nick does manage to produce (in house) their own drama series. Basically Zoey 101, but more of a dramatic tone. They don't have to 100% focus on comedy. I just hope HOA's final season's ratings and EWW's reception by the fans doesn't discourage the network to break out into the drama genre.

I caught it too. Now, when I came into this show, I wasn't exactly expecting Downton Abbey or Breaking Bad or BBC Sherlock levels of acting or storytelling, but it may have helped that I kinda had a full day of work and I got up so early and watched part of it then and the other half on my break and worked a huge shift, so it's possible I wasn't really paying too much attention to it or thinking too hard about it. I don't think it's as terrible as you guys are saying, but it's not very impressive yet. But I felt the same way about House of Anubis when it started too, so I'll give it a few more goes before I decide on it.

I'm fine with the acting, though if they focus more on the witch powers and less on the cheesy dialogue, as HoA did later on, I think I'll stick with it. Although, I don't want them to get rid of all the cheesy dialogue - I like a little bit of it ;)

The quality and low budget for EWW sort of reminds me of H2O which aired on Nick from 2008-2009 even though H2O was an acquired series.

Well, another thing EWW had going for it for me that may have helped me was the fact that I was watching it on my mobile phone, not on a big screen TV or a tablet. I usually save my tablet space for bigger shows that require more attention to be paid, such as the oft-mentioned Downton Abbey. I usually put kidcoms and other smaller shows on my mobile. Because of that, it was a little difficult to judge the acting talent or budget of the show.

They said it was a "one-month event" though. I'll give it a few more goes, and if it doesn't seem like something I can get through 40 episodes of soon, I'll likely drop it, but I still think it has potential.
