Upcoming Nick Programming

Judging by little to go on, I think Nick should pass on There Goes the Planet. What differentiates this from Marvin Marvin? I think the audience would be hard-pressed to answer that.

I don't think either got picked up... or perhaps they'll end up on TeenNick. In any case, I hope we hear some news soon regarding the new sitcoms. It would be nice to know. Interesting not even a bit of news on new Nicktoons. Nick might be content with the animation content for the time being.

Yeah, I think we have enough live action shows for now. I also think that Nick should have a balance lineup of SaC, THH, TT, SBSP, FOP, SJC, TMNT, LoK, MvA, BW and RI by the end of this year. Having more live action (or cartoons) shows will make Nick's list of shows crowded again.

Yup, add in PR, Digimon and Winx and that's 14 shows. Possibly 15 if Get Blake airs this year.

What Nick REALLY needs to do, IMO, is finish out PoM, RaM, TP, KFP... we all know none are gonna be renewed. But it would be nice to just get all the episodes aired so Nick can "move on" (not like they haven't already). I have a feeling TP's fate will be based on it's week premieres next week. If ratings can at least be 2 million (1:30 p.m. is a TUFF slot though...) then I could see Nick finishing it out similar to KFP.

I know SDR, WaV and ATV are up in the air whether they get renewed or not. But IMO, Nick should no longer focus on original programming for N@N. Clearly, shows like Full House, Friends and George Lopez are owning demos for N@N. No need to waste resources and QUALITY ACTORS (take Ryan Newman of SDR and Buddy Handleson on WaV), when they could be anchoring their own children targeted shows on Nick.

Agreed. N@N was already doing super fine without the likes of See Dad Run and Wendell & Vinnie. The former shouldn't gotten renewed last year, but now that Nick became more smarter this year, they know what will or what will not be renewed. And I'm proud of that.

On the other hand, Nick needs to also finish Rocket Monkeys' remaining 8 episodes this year, so it can be over with. Teletoon did recently ordered a 2nd season, so I say ship it off to Nicktoons. But it's sad to see Nick let go of the show already. I was really starting to enjoy it.

Possibly 15 if Get Blake airs this year.
Get Blake! will likely debut in Winter 2014, as some sites have stated it.

Doesn't Nick also have one episode of Fanboy & Chum Chum that they haven't aired yet? Like seriously just dump it on Nicktoons already.

Poor W&V, it really got the shaft in that it's clearly designed as a Nick@Nite show but was bumped up to a regular Nickelodeon series and the tone just doesn't fit with the other Nick shows. I want another season but I'm doubtful

But yeah the lineup coming soon looks good. (does that count as back on topic? lol)

I think Nickelodeon should pick up one more live action program, just in case one suddenly flops, or has no signs of an improvement. If that's not the case, then still pick it up and you'll have 4 fresh sitcoms.

Interesting, looks like Nick is still looking for more sitcoms. I like the premise, definitely is something unique and relatable for children.

So we have this show, a Dan Schneider comedy and a Nick Cannon sketch (which includes Rachel Crowe) in the works. There are two other shows that have been relatively quiet after their pilots were announced:

1. GROUNDED: Which is about two tween Greek goddesses that have to work at their uncle's restaurant on Earth. (Might be acquired than an original though).

2. THERE GOES THE PLANET: Which is about an alien boy who must prove to his King to not destroy/take over earth. (Apparently began filming in March - maybe).

I personally don't like Grounded or There Goes the Planet, Nick has had enough kids with zainy twists shows (Marvin Marvin, THH, TTM). But I think the former three have potential. Of course Schneider is gold, and Cannon has a fresh voice in the industry.

Wait a minute,

Dan Schneider has another show besides Sam and Cat? Is this a diffrent show or is it that Gibby spinoff?

Yeah, he announced on social media he's working on a new show that doesn't have any previous actors he's worked with. He's also retweeted tweets from fans that mentioned they are excited for his new show. Nothing official though.

Thanks for the info.

Nick And Disney TV: Nickelodeon Working On New Series "Twang" !

New show called "Twang"... hmmm.... lots of new live action huh?

Is this a pilot, or has it already been picked up for a series?

Don't ever use that site as a reference. He RARELY lists his sources, his articles barely make sense, and insults anyone that doesn't like "Liv & Maddie." I honestly don't know how he has nearly 30k twitter followers, while a more RELIABLE, PROFESSIONAL account, Nickandmore, has 11k.

It's a pilot: Andy Gordon Sells Projects To Fox, Nickelodeon - Deadline.com

I think it's smart for Nick to rely on talent that they've used in the past to create new hits. While True Jackson was never a huge hit for the network it did have a successful run.

And I guess by this Fall 2013 or sometime in 2014 the yet to air in the USA T.U.F.F. Puppy episodes will air first run on Nicktoons and not the main Nickelodeon channel!

Something I saw a few weeks ago but forgot to mention:

Looks like Nick has green-lit another live-action Fairly Odd Movie. This time around it's called A Fairly Odd Summer so I'd assume it'll premiere next Summer. I believe production begins soon.

Wow, that's actually pretty huge. Looks like FOP will be around thru 2014 as well. Not surprised since the last two movies did quite well. Where'd you find this BTW?

I went to school for Film and TV so I try to keep up with upcoming projects and I saw that the production office for A Fairly Odd Summer was listed on Production Weekly, meaning they're starting production soon.

Now I don't know if this means that the series will continue on for another season or not but it definitely shows that Nick is still interested in the Fairly Odd franchise as a whole.
