What anime have you been watching?

I've been watching "Full Moon o Sagashite" (AnimEigo uses the the title "Looking for the Full Moon"). It's certainly a different kind of magical girl story. However, I don't agree with AnimEigo releasing it under their "Ruined Childhood" label. It does talk about some serious things, and some parts are a...little scary, but's not exactly a horror story or anything. It focuses on the positive parts of Mitsuki's story, and is very much a family-friendly show, which is not a bad thing at all.

I decided to get this because this release will be complete, which includes the dubbed version of all 52 episodes. I learned that Viz Media's release stopped at episode 28 (volume...4, I think), but that AnimEigo was able to recover all of the dubbed episodes. I don't know if I'll be able to watch volume 2 of AnimEigo's release right when it comes out, but I plan to.
It has an INFAMOUSLY sad bunch of last episodes, maybe that's what they meant.

On the other hand, while Mitsuki did find "that" out, she's still saved from her own despair, and overall, it still has a (relatively) happy ending, and it still focuses more on the positive parts and less on the negative.

On Saturday alone, I'm watching new seasons of My Hero Academia, SpyxFamily, To Your Eternity and Ranma 1/2. And then on Sunday will be the season 3 premiere of One Punch Man. This is the most number of anime shows I've watched at the same time, it's crazy lol.

Still patiently waiting for all the major shonen series to get dubbed. Was bummed to learn that even Gachiakuta lost its same day dub.

Watched what has been avaliable on Netflix and YouTube as far as the Detective Conan stuff goes.

Thanks to Toei Animation on YT, I got to see all 49 episodes of the Futari wa Pretty Cure dub.

Finished up watching My Dress Up Darling season 2. Certainly a lot more characters as well as featuring more of some who were in season 1 but not fleshed out like Marine's school crew. But more importantly seemed like season 2 shifted from season 1 being how Marine affected and changed Gojo to how Gojo affected and changed Marine. Lot of funny stuff like Nowa making Gojo spit take when she suddenly asks if he and Marine are dating or Marine thinking Gojo wanted to have sex with her because she saw him in an aisle lined with aphrodisiacs when what he really did was he bought energy drinks so he could stay up playing a video game for reference. Or Gojo dreading what bento Marine made for him lmao but it turned to be rice balls that were great, thinking Coffin was a wholesame game until learning it wasn't lmao, or the whole class immediately knowing sending Marine to shop alone was a terrible idea. :D :D

Another highlight, it was nice to see Gojo's class rally around him during the school competition and all that fear he had of being teased for being a dollmaker was unfounded and they were all genuinely interested in seeing him at work. Granted, that's an ideal situation and most people aren't in a class with all great classmates.

The season's theme of being true to yourself and doing what makes you happy was easy to empathize, as an off-and-on fan of manga, anime, America comic books myself, and the cast had a lot of issues IRL fans go through in life like with Juju contemplating how long she could keep doing cosplay and because she did her cosplay alone, didn't occur to her there were adults that kept up the hobby until Miyako and Suzuka pointed it out. Or Amane loving cosplaying as female characters but his girlfriend being so thoughtless and coldly telling him to throw it away. Akira, whose mother threw out her precious manga collection and was in the mindset becoming an adult means stopping the manga/anime hobby then in college, she was able to reignite her passion just be chance at a toy vending machine, two classmates Miyako and Suzuka pass by and turn out to be anime fans, too. It all comes down to finding your people.

In the end, Marine wasn't able to tell Gojo she was in love with him. But a selfie is a nice consolation... I guess. She finally lit up again like normal Marine. From what I was able to discern, there's around 30 chapters left (season 1 did 39 chapters, season 2 did 45) so there's just enough to make a third and final season. Since I was late in the game, it was a shock to read it took 3 years and change for season 2 to premiere. Hopefully, the wait isn't as long for a season 3.

Currently, I'm watching Witch Watch. It took awhile, but the series grew on me with its characters and the humor can be pretty solid too. Season two was announced, so I'll definitely check that out when it airs.

I'm also watching new seasons of My Hero Academia, Spy x Family and Ranma 1/2. There's also Digimon Beatbreak and The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity. While I do like the franchise, Digimon just hasn't clicked with me nearly as much as Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh! have. I suspect hearing for years that Digimon anime are better than Pokemon probably didn't help. Still, Beatbreak seems pretty good so far, so I'll probably keep up with it.

I’ve been listening to a lot of anime content on the Pluto TV app on my phone.

Caught up on Call of the Night season 1 and started season 2. Coming off My Dress Up Darling, was still in the mood for a romcom so went with the vampire one, heh heh. Nazuna is a cute outsider vampire. It was endearing by the end of season 1 when she admits she was acting cool and was actually getting bored until she met Ko and both of these weirdos finally admitted they both like the night but more importantly like spending the nights with each other looking for fun stuff to do. The other vampires just wanting to gossip about romance and live vicariously through Nazuna and Ko's budding relationship was amusing or them trying to get Ko to admit they look cute, too. Instead of becoming mega rich or siring tons of offspring, it was kinda funny to think Nazuna used her time to become a pro at video games, heh. The only cell phone she ever bought being the old brick from the 80s/90s was hilarious.

Season 2 seems a bit more arc driven, we'll see what happens. Not sure what to make of the detective Anko. Jerk move to call the cops on Ko. Curious why her blood tasted bad. She pumping garlic into herself? Bloodline of the Van Helsings? Wonder if they'll convince her to drop her grudge against all vampires. Must be some reveals coming up soon now that they're looking into their pasts to destroy and weaknesses. Kiku seems like an oddball but turns out she's sired the most vampires out of everyone and of course her latest mark is Ko's friend.

Edit: Those sure were some connections. Anko suggesting they try sex already was hilarious. I was wondering when someone was going to mention it, but Ko did - did Anko ever find anything about the vampire who turned her father. Was it Kiku? A new character? I thought it was gonna be that red head in costume she saved in the alley since they did another shot of her but nope, just a plant. It was pretty funny them debating if it was too late or not to compliment Anko's hair cut then Ko was proud he pulled it off. :D It did a little depressing there that her plan to commit suicide by vampire to out them and that gun shot was terrifying. Pretty interesting that Ko briefly turned if such a thing were even possible. I think the anime has only adapted half of the series so there's about 2 more season's worth, knock wood.

Here what all of what I'm currently watching.

One Piece (both dub and sub)
Spy X Family Season 3 (sub)
The Prince of Tennis (the recent new dub)
You and Idol Precure (sub)
May I Ask for One Final Thing? (dub)
Gatchaman (dub)
Detective Conan (both sub and the current Studio Nano dub)
Gintama: Class 3-Z Ginpachi sensai (sub)

Watching Skip and Loafer right now, and just finished the Majestic Prince movie yesterday. The former is decent, but I can't seem to really remember anyone's names, and I feel like I'll just forget this whole show once I'm done with it. The latter is extremely forgettable and I only really watched it as part of my homework for Super Robot Wars.

Full Moon Wo Sagashite was one of the earlier anime series I watched. Looking back on it, the series was depressing how it turned out. The anime deviated from the manga. The manga had a happier ending.

I would like to see a remake of this anime. Many anime series have been getting remakes. Full Moon is one I would like to see join in on it. I wish they did a remake to follow the manga.

Saturday has the most anime shows coming out. For the 2025 fall season. It is stacked.

I've been watching A Wild Las Boss Appeared. I'm trying to get caught up with Gnosia. These are just a couple anime I'm naming.

I've been watching Inuyasha. Despite it airing on Adult Swim for so long, I only saw bits of the original series, mostly with some of the ending theme songs. I watched Final Act and the first season of Yashamine, but both of those were awhile ago. I wanted to binge watch something kind of new and I wanted to get a bit more context as to why fans disliked Yashamine when I thought it was fine. Despite the series' popularity, I also remember it getting a lot of hate back in the day, so I wanted to see if I could understand more of the backlash. Part of that might be harder to feel even with the amount of fillers and non-ending the original series had because Final Act exists, but I definitely remember people complaining about the ending when the manga wrapped up too.

I'm around thirty or so episodes in and it seems pretty good. It has a good balance of action, comedy and romance. Maybe it helps that I know how it ends, but the romance between Inuyasha and Kagome seems cute. The comedy doesn't always land, especially with Mirkou, but it's pretty enjoyable so far.

Starting on Lovely Complex in between my usual rounds of mecha homework. Ironically, it's still kinda homework because I wanted to see the show that JelloApocalypse had yelled at and not feel ignorant, but the fact that the premise sounded just like Toradora meant it was right up my alley for taste.

Surprise surprise, the romcom stuff really works for me. The faces of the mains look so much like One Piece characters that it's always distracting, but then I probably should have expected that given it's a Toei show.

Also, like a lot of Takahashi shows, the music used for the opening and endings is excellent too.

January is gonna be stacked for me (and many fans). :D
1/5: MHA Vigilantes S2
1/8: Jujutsu Kaisen S3 Pt. 1
1/9: Fire Force S3 Pt. 2
1/10: Trigun: Stargaze
1/11: Hell's Paradise S2
1/16: Frieren S2
1/24: Medalist s2

Maybe will check out the Ghost in the Shell series, too. Blue Miburo S2 if it's also going to be on CR, I'm not sure if it's exclusive to OceanVeil or not.

These are anime shows I have watched in 2025. The winter, spring, summer, and fall seasons. I exclude shows that were from 2024 and carried over into 2025. I also exclude shows that run for minutes in the single digits since they are too short. But I do include shows that run for half the length of an episode. The shows with an asterisk next to them are series that I didn't see that much of or I didn't watch the whole thing. They are incomplete.

I finished the original Inuyasha series and I thought that it was pretty good. It had a good blend of action and romance with an interesting setting to go with it. Inuyasha and Kagome's chemistry and relationship worked a lot better than I thought it would for some reason. The pacing wasn't really that bad either. Granted, I was binge watching it as opposed to watching it for years as it was airing, so it would probably be difficult to really feel the pacing problems that way. Even the filler episodes were usually good and/or entertaining. Some of the show's best or most hilarious moments came from filler episodes. The series didn't seem to have as much filler as I thought it would given people complained about that a lot back in the day. There were still some weak or bad filler episodes, but typically, they were fine. The music was really good. Some of the opening and ending themes arent' available on streaming due to legal rights, which is a shame, but the songs they had were great.

Unsurprisingly, I didn't care for Miroku's gags and they make it really hard to make his relationship with Sango compelling despite getting engaged. He does feel like an actual character most of the time, but then he becomes the annoying pervert who keeps wanting to hit on women despite claiming that Sango is the only woman for him and basically asking her to marry him once the battle with Naraku is over. The drama between Inuyasha and Kagome due to Kikyo is at least more interesting and Kagome's jealousy is usually understandable, but sometimes even that feels a bit forced given everything they've already gone through. There are some interesting villains, but not a lot of Naraku's reincarinations stand out. Still, the show is pretty solid, so I don't quite understand the backlash it got back in the day. Even the ending wasn't that bad. It doesn't really end on a good stopping point, but it had some good action and nice moments with the cast, so it was fine. There wasn't a way to provide closure unless they wanted to do an anime original ending instead since the manage wouldn't be finished for another few years.

I just started to watch Final Act. It is weird to hear Kagome with a different voice, but her original voice actress retired, so a change was necessary. I've only seen the first two episodes, but it is interesting how they basically jump right back into the swing of things. That was the point of the season, but it almost feels jarring when nowadays they'd have the first episode to help get the audience back up to speed before diving into the storyline. I only vageuly remember a few things from watching Final Act on Toonami back in the day, so getting to see the rest of the series with much better context now will be fun.

I also finished watching The Flower that Blooms With Diginity. It was a cute slice of life romance series. It has a really nice romance between the two leads, a surprisingly likable group of supporting cast and even just the growing friendship among the cast was cute. I really hope that it gets a second season since there's a lot more they can adapt from the manga based on what I've heard, so hopefully that will be announced in the near future.
