"WWE Royal Rumble" 2008 Prediction Thread

It's time to Rumble! It's time for the Royal Rumble! All predictions must be made by Sunday at 8 p.m. ET and cannot be edited after that time.

The Rumble has five scheduled matches, so everyone's total will be out of five. If you refuse to pick on principle, Kippy has no clue who you want, or you just plain miss it, you will get it wrong. Understand? I said, do you understand?

(Pick one Superstar and one Superstar only for the Rumble match. We did this last year and picking more than one has always confused people and with the the three brands resulting in an uneven split it just makes sense. So pick one winner and that's all.)

1. TAKER wins his 2nd straight Royal Rumble. And goes on to face Edge at Wrestlemania.

2. As much as Jeff Hardy deserves to win, I'll go with RANDY ORTON to retain his title.

3. EDGE retains his title.

4. JBL wins via DQ.

5. FLAIR lives to fight another day.

Flair over MVP. The way I see it, the only logical solution to the storyline is Flair vs. Vince at Mania, loser must retire. 'Nuff said.

Mysterio over Edge via DQ. I don't get the logic of CM Punk losing the ECW title other than setting him up as the next challenger, and IMPO, Edge had no business getting involved. You know what they say about a man's grasp exceeding his reach. It applies to Edge.

Jericho over JBL. Y2J has had PPV losing streaks before, but this is not the time to have another one.

Orton over Hardy. Sorry, Jeff, it's just not your time yet.

Undertaker wins the Rumble again. It's been 10 years since Austin was the last man to repeat.

It's been a while since I've done one of these:

Flair wins. Vince either puts him up against himself or, dare I say, Undertaker at Wrestlemania.

Orton wins. Will likely take on Triple H at Wrestlemania.

Y2J wins via DQ.

Edge wins.

I'm going dark horse on this one. I'm going out on a long limb and say CM Punk wins the Rumble and goes on against Edge at Wrestlemania. Don't know why I feel this way, but they're setting up a storyline between the two, and I doubt it'll end after tonight's events.

-WWE Title - Randy Orton v. Jeff Hardy: The smart money's on Jeff since he's uber-over, but I'm going with the safe bet in Orton.
-World Title - Edge v. Rey Mysterio: Edge retains.
-Chris Jericho v. JBL: It's stupid to bring JBL out of retirement for loose his first PPV match, but, hey, they did it with Jericho. Jericho wins.
-Ric Flair v. MVP: Flair wins. The only 100% guarantee outcome.

It'll be Trips and Taker in the final two. It's been a while since we've seen the Game even get a title shot, so I'll take Triple H here.

WWE Championship

Hardy deserves the title after the stunts he's pulled recently, but I'm using what onlineonslaught.com's Rick Scaia calls "WWE Think" for my picks. And WWE Think says Orton retains and sets up Orton/Triple H at the big show.


World Heavyweight Championship

Edge retains and sets up Edge/Taker at 'Mania.

Y2J gets the DQ win over JBL.

Flair continues his WWE career in a no-brainer.

Ahh, it's Royal Rumble time yet again!

Let's see...I am going for Taker to win his second Rumble in a row this year.
Flair will most definitely quash MVP.
Y2J will win, no doubt by DQ.
Edge retains over Rey, no doubt will some assistance from the Edgeheads/Vickie/Chavo/whoever else. I mean, God, the guy has his own frikkin NWO going on.
And as much as I wish Hardy would win, Orton is going to walk out with his title.
