I have a feeling that the JL is going to screw up their trial horribly. Even with Batman they still have more bodies than brain cells among them. I imagine that they'll try a bunch of generic "We're good guys!" stuff without and not bring up the mind control stuff.

The thing I'm looking forward to seeing is how the Reach responds to Mongul. An opportunity to showcase Black Beetle as a good guy, perhaps?

And not one image of Blue Beetle, can't say that disappoints me. It's a shame I can't see the initial airing due to other commitments.

Maybe The Team Is There To Lead A Break Out

Bite your tongue! I don't want the Rimbor 6 in Space Super Jail any longer. We're going to need everybody for the upcoming invasion. Besides the public will believe Superman and Wonder Woman about the aliens.... Batman well, he doesn't look very trustworthy does he. Of course The Reach may use their unfortunate incarceration to their favor and humiliate the League even more. Afterall, where have they been all these months?

But it is possible for this whole trial to be a miscarriage of justice (league). Especially considering all the heroes of Earth 16 are pawns, patsies, and losers. I'm hoping Icon will prove himself to be competent. He's had long enough to prepare. Too bad Rocket didn't get to go to Rimbor. Hopefully, Icon will be able to walk her down the aisle on her wedding day. And give her baby daddy Nightwing the stink eye.

Why do you think the JL are not very bright?

Maybe I'm being a bit unfair, but the Light has been running circles around them for 8+ years. They displayed no competence in season 1, not being able to find Tornado after weeks while the Team found him in half an hour. Even after learning about them, the League has made no progress against them, despite Lex and Queen Bee being public figures. Either they lack the competence to trap them or are more concerned with their public "do no harm" image than actually serving the greater good(I know, Justice Lords and all that, but I find it to be a pathetically weak and childish excuse).

And when season 2 comes around they finally learned what they did after 5 years(they never even considered space!?); they send a third of the League to go face charges from a government that's probably more corrupt than Bialya. Not to mention their utter failure in the PR battle vs. the Reach.

I know a big part of it from a writing perspective is to make the Team shine in comparison, but it's still rather annoying.

I wonder if we had gotten a 26 episode order for Invasion we would have had Darkseid instead of Mongul. That fiery planet thing next to Earth's moon we saw in trailers is appearing this episode and it looks a lot like Apokolips. However, http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/ca/Dc_Presents_-_28.jpg kinda looks like it too. Easier to fit in Mongul these last six eps than Darkseid. The plot pacing will be really fast as it is.

I thought so, too, before these clips came but compare this "War World" to Apokolips seen in "Disordered" They depicted Apokolips differently on YJ while most shows feature it like how War World looks like here but with the blast holes.

Has anyone thought that the Reach or/and the light migh already know about Artemis and Kaldur. I was watching "The Fix" and the whole Miss Maritan Green Beetle non mind reading had me thinking. The ereach sent green beetle in to gain their trust but in doing so knows that his story would probably be checjked out via a mind read by miss martian. So how did they know that she would feel awkward reading his mind, t's like...they know/

I would assume that Green Beetle probably has an ability to hide his secrets when she read his mind. Miss Martian is still a fairly young telepath, and her powers might not have been developed as much.

They might. I think the more important question is "would they care?" They might see letting the two of them operate as an excellent way of undermining their partner.

What happened to her after the [attack]?

She got all weak at the knees. She became very passive, and allowed Black Beetle to get the better of her.

The Reach don't have to know the specifics of the interaction. All they saw was that [attacking] Aqualad took out a LOT out of her, and gambled correctly that she won't have enough strength to ferret out the secrets of a fellow telepath = a Martian one even.

Alternatively, this is all an elaborate ruse that Green Beetle and Blue Beetle are pulling on Black Beetle. Doubtful, but then the creator of the show popularized Xanatos roulettes, so...

I think Greg's answered this a couple times. It boils down to Dick and Tim being wards of Bruce Wayne, while Barbara has no connection to Bat's civilian ID. There was also something about Batgirl(and now Dick) being 18 while both Robins were minors.

That's right, Northern Sun. Barbara Gordon is not high-profile compared to Dick Grayson and even Tim Drake, apparently, due to their connection to Bruce Wayne. Yeah, billionaire playboy more famous than police commissioner. Judging from the flashbacks in the Players arc, Dick Grayson was rather famous among his peers, too. Although we haven't been given confirmation Drake lives at Wayne Manor, fans can suss it out given the glasses.

It's also important to note that Batgirl, specifically Barbra Gordon have historically chosen the identity, and did so without Batman establishing the identity. She did not start out with Batman as her mentor, Batman eventually became her mentor. So, there's a little bit more freedom with her. She's also an adult, and like what Northern Sun said, she's not a ward of Bruce Wayne. Once you know the identity of Robin, it won't be hard to figure out the identity of Batman.
