Aced the written test the first time I took it. But when it came to the actual
driving, I got extremely nervous.

Finally passed it on the third try, and even got a funny story out of the deal.
This test was held at a DMV that was waaaaay out in the country. How far out, you ask? Well, practically the only other traffic I encountered on the road was a conbine. As Dave Barry would say, I swear I am not making this up.
So anyway, I'm stuck a few feet behind this conbine, which is taking up more than half the road, and I'm trying to see around him, looking for an opportunity to pass. But before I could signal, he stopped - and started
backing up.
Fortunately, there was no one behind us (no one around for miles, I think), so I just put that ol' station wagon in reverse, backed away from the conbine, and finally was able to get around him. (And for once, I didn't panic!

)
And that's how ol' SSC got her driver's license.
