Am I the only one tired of how cynical 90% of the Internet seems to be?

Nope, I agree. They're just ads. 364 days a year, people say they hate ads. But one night much of America will sit through a sporting event they don't care about just to be subjected to the loudest, most obnoxious, most manipulative commercials the advertising industry can create.

Am I the only one who doesn't think the Y2K's (2000s) were horrible? Yeah, there were bad things like 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, the 2004 Tsunami, and the economy going bad; but there was lot of good in it too.


Like the creations of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, iPhones, the That Guy with the Glasses crew (plus the Angry Video Game Nerd), movies like the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Inception. The list goes on, yet looking back on a couple old threads, people were hashing on the last decade way too much. And not to mention the 90s had it's fair share of utter garbage (Columbine, Woodstock '99, Pauly Shore, and the over saturation of EXTREME anyone?)


I can't be the only one who feels this way, right?

The 90's were still better. I don't see how it's a debate. One Pauly Shore vs. Britney, Paris, Federline, Sk8er Boi, SexyBack, Adam Sandler, Jessica and Ashlee, the birth and invasion of reality shows, the majority of what exists of Nickelback...the scales are pretty tipped.

And in terms of economy, we had it MADE.

And Music wise the 90s had N*SYNC, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears first album and other pop stuff that the kids love but everyone else seems to hate. Every decade has its share of crappy music and good music, it's just that we tend to forget about all the crap and remember the good stuff as time goes by. I'm still convinced that in 10 years time we'll be reminising about The Wire, Arrseted Development, Community, The Dark Knight etc. and lamenting about whatever's current.

Eh, I liked the Backstreet Boys. They were a lot better than NSync and the other boy-bands that came out back then. They had a few good songs. Even my older brother liked "I Want It That Way".

People, knock it off. Boy bands are gimmicks and nothing more. They are appointed to lofty positions solely on their looks, not any talent they may or may not coincidentally possess. We should not look back on any of them with fondness, nor should we encourage any more of them over people who actually worked to gain a foothold in the cutthroat music industry. It's wrong and you know it.

You know, I can honestly say that I was happy to hear a NKOTB song when I was watching The Wizard a few years ago. One of their songs was playing in the background in one scene. It actually added to the nostalgia factor, although the movie itself did that on its own. I'll also admit that their existence generally didn't bother me, but I could never call myself a fan.

Well, it depends on the game and how interesting the story is.

Yeah, at one point I had a VHS tape full of nothing but game cutscenes.

Explanation: Back when I was a teenager, my PS1 was hooked up through my VCR, so I would tape record all the cinemas/cutscenes in the games which had them. Of course, this tape is long gone now, and is made largely irrelevant anyway thanks to the internet. Plus a lot of games have options to re-watch cinemas.
