Likewise, I've seen mostly the early episodes, but you're absolutely right they're fantastic. Harwicke and Burke are both good Watsons. I'll have to check out that Cushing series. I think Morell was a great Watson too, and the Hammer movie is one of Lee's few leading man roles. Plus Terence Fisher's direction is superb, and with so many of Hammer's horror films having weaker scripts, have Conan Doyle's original source material was a treat. Just great stuff, if you're a a Holmes fan and a Hammer fan, give it a look. It does deviate from the source material in quite a few places, but overall, it's a fun little flick. Hammer wanted to make a franchise out of that like they did Dracula and Frankenstein, but it never took off at the box office.
