Toonami Anticipation Thread

I think that the bumpers will be all-new but there won't be that many of them, but there'll be enough to get the job done. That's how I interpreted it.

Well yeah, that's what I was saying. It's just that it makes sense they'd want this to look great so no one's thinking "oh, this shot is recycled".

Pretty much my thoughts on this as well. The budget not being all that big makes sense and hopefully it will grow as Toonami progresses.

...Man, it's going to be really weird watching Toonami on Saturday nights again at Midnight.

Funimation just uploaded a video promoting Deadman Wonderland on Toonami. Nothing special, but here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eH2Y4hErBoA

It says toonami.com at the end so maybe we'll get a revamped all new Toonami website hopefully.

DeMarco confirmed on Monday that they're animating new bumpers. Due to the budget being low there's going to be a lot of reused animation for TOM as well though.

I'm thinking the reason why these pictures are looking great is because they want the animation that DOES get used to look amazing so we're not bored with it as it gets recycled.
So it's kind of like what DBZ Kai did when they reanimated some scenes to look better, but they more or less stayed the same. I just hope the difference is noticable, and by those screenshots they look pretty crisp.

Toonami.com is already redirecting to the Adult Swim Toonami page. Strangely enough, people were first considering a return when the website mysteriously went down instead of redirecting to the CN site several months ago.

Hopefully the Toonami website will get more features soon. It really use to do well with engaging the fans.

Something I decided to do for fun; asking an old Nick.com Shockwave game called "Ask Totally Kyle" about the fate of Toonami!

Me: Will Toonami succeed?

Kyle: One time, someone typed a question, and the answer was like, "yes."

Me: Will Toonami air One Piece this year?

Kyle: I definitely have no idea!

Me: Will Toonami air Panty and Stocking?

Kyle: The answer is, like, "yes"!

Me: Is Toonami a failed experiment?

Kyle: *see first answer*

Me: Will it at least last until 2030?

Kyle: Totally!

18 years of Toonami ahead of us!

Speaking of One Piece I thought it was cool that it's one of the most requested series people have been bugging Jason about.

I wouldn't say that, because all the bumps are new and everything. It's just that they made the models of TOM and the Absolution updated to not stray too far from the original's. The reason we're going ot be looking at a lot of recycled TOM bumps is because they're restarting from scratch as far as animation is concerned. It's not like Kai where you trace over an old frame to "update" it.

Well whatever they're doing I hope it's at least a noticeable difference and gives the block a refreshing feel even though I realize they're on a budget.

Um, does anyone know if the shows are going to be unedited?

Deadman Wonderland says TV-MA-V on the clip and the show page, but Casshern Sins says TV-MA-V for the clip and TV-PG-LV at the top.

My TV schedule shows them both as TV-14.
Weird, my TV schedule is listening them both as TV-MA with full descriptions. Yesterday it had Casshern as TV-MA-V and DW just had "original air date 5-26" as the description. So I assume AS has provided the full info and they are both TV-MA

Be awesome if the new shows got by nigh-uncut with MA-whatever ratings when needed.

Theres no reason why Deadman wonderland is TV-MA the violence is hevaily censored a good chunk of the scenes are completely black you can't see anything. i had to read the manga to even understand what was going on because of the censorship.

That's just Hulu being Hulu when it comes to the censorship, in the same way panty shots are blacked out of MA-rated Freezing. There is an uncensored version of Deadman Wonderland, probably will be the one DVD, and close to the one on Adult Swim.

DeMarco posted that on his Twitter, just teasers.

I just can't help myself sometimes.

I hope I'm wrong. If I were religious, I pray I'm wrong, but my cynical side just can't help itself.

I really hope that this isn't Adult Swim just putting a chrome finish on their ASA block for a quick cash-in. This Toonami Experiment has to be for real, because there will be a lot of people that will be upset...if Williams Street even cares.

And I hope they do.

So guys, after they air all of Bleach do they think they will air this?:

Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
