I was thinking that maybe Toonami could air (C): The Money of Soul and Possibility Control anime that FUNi is releasing soon. I saw the first two episodes on FUNi's Youtube account, and it could work. Its a mix of battle/tourney and economics (Really), and its only 11 episodes, so it probably wouldn't cost too much.

FUNimation Channel aired Casshern Sins while it has been on Toonami so that may not mean Deadman Wonderland will no longer be able to air on Adult Swim but the show's immediate removal and lack of return in light of the 6 hour block seems like an indication that Deadman was a temporary license mostly to pimp it for potential DVD sales. IMO that's a fine model to have because anime rarely does well on a second run on Adult Swim. If they can get more shows that way then we can keep a more constant stream of brand new content going.

Looks like A Certain Magical Index won't be on Toonami after all, because it's going to be airing on the FUNimation Channel, according to this video. Also joining the FUNimation Channel is Deadman Wonderland... I wonder if Adult Swim lost the rights to air it?

Deadman Wonderland was likely contracted for a one time airing to help promote the DVD release. Otherwise they'd have reaired it since it did fairly well. I figured Index probably wasn't going to be Sins replacement since if it was Funimation would have pushed the DVD release even further back than December as to not compete with the tv airing.

Still not 100% about my Future Diary theory since we can't even say for sure that it'll be a brand new show airing after Sins(even though they really need it to be) but it's looking more likely...

ThunderCats has a very promising start and overall a strong first season first 13 episodes besides a few less thrilling episodes but the second batch of 13 making up the first season felt like it wasted a lot of time padding things out and had a few episodes that were just moderately entertaining that feel to me like the equivalent of a filler episode of long running shounen manga adaptation.

While I think that the first half of the season was better than the second half overall, the pacing was still problematic for me in both halves, especially with the whole Book of Omens. Though, I agree that there were some episodes in the second half that felt more like padding than anything else.

Sym-Bionic Titan has a few episodes that don't feel like anything happens but they're pretty interesting most of the time. The episode when Octus is left by himself and the rest of the world is trapped paused in time is actually very entertaining in its' own way. Without a doubt it used it's 20 episodes well. Not every episode is amazing but at the end of those 20 episodes I feel like that show told a compelling story and didn't beat around the bush anywhere near as much as ThunderCats.

I'm not a huge fan of the series, but I do think that Sym-Bionic Titan uses the time it had more effectively than Thundercats did and it actually did pick up quite nicely near the end of the series. I think that most of the Earth-focused storylines, aside from the one about Octus, just weren't that interesting to me, despite how they are kind of necessary to the series' setup.

However since Toonami can't air Korra, Avengers, Motorcity and the new TMNT and probably only Korra has the mature storytelling to suit the block now they're airing the best recent American action cartoons they could be IMO besides Young Justice which I'm all for airing on Toonami but can't say I expect them to add it until it's completed its' run on CN daytime. I feel airing both Sym-Bionic Titan and ThunderCats has gotten them closer to being the home of the best action cartoons than they were earlier this year and that can be nothing but a good thing regarding the quality of the programming on Toonami.

The idea of Korra airing on Toonami sounds awesome, despite how impossible that would be. Young Justice could fit fairly well on the block, but I don't see that happening until it finishes its run on Cartoon Network either.

I've heard some pretty good comments about that show. The basic premise itself sounds kind of interesting and I'd be up to checking it out if it aired on the block.

I know what you mean. Despite knowing what happens and thinking about how much potential was lost over the course of the series, I still love the premiere. It just sets up the series' different conflicts and subplots so well and it's still quite engaging. It's such a shame that I don't think that they were able to live up to that potential. There were other episodes past the premiere that were good, but it didn't really change my overall opinion on the series by the end. As for Titan, it did have a pretty good start, although I mixed up another episode later on in the series as the premiere, but it also reminded me that the Earth elements to the series, at least in the later stages, become dull after awhile, especially compared to the conflict back in their world. The artwork and fight scenes are still pretty great though.

My biggest issue with ThunderCats (Although I have plenty) was that they completely dropped the social issues. I love that stuff and I was hoping to see more of it...

They could do Star Wars: The Clone Wars too, which you know, [adult swim] has shown before. Although, I'd rather see that pick up the one-hour spot when Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood ends.

Eh, i really don't want Clone Wars on Toonami. Maybe the 2D Genndy one but honestly we don't really need that either.

Fits the block, it's popular, they have lots of episodes, it's already proven to do well on [as], and it's a good show. I'm fine with it showing up, especially in that hour.

I don't like the new one that much. Most episodes are boring IMO. But I like the old one. Although it's over and I see no reason to rerun it other than to promote the new one.

That definitely bothered me too, but I'm not sure if it was my biggest issue with the series. I think it's a tie between the magic vs. technology theme basically being dropped and the way the rivalry between Lion-O and Tygra was handled. Though, at least the latter wasn't forgotten/ignored, but those were two of my favorite aspects of the premiere that I thought weren't handled as well as they could have been in the series and the way they were handled was pretty disappointing.

As for Clone Wars, I could see it fitting into the block, especially when it has aired on Adult Swim before, but I don't know if I'd want to see it on the block. Star Wars doesn't really appeal to me, so I wouldn't be into seeing the series, but I wouldn't be against it if it did happen.

There have been PLENTY of moments that have foreshadowed his fall. There have been whole episodes of essentially "Dark Side" Anakin...

Ugh I hope not, that show was terrible. Its a battle anime where you need a degree in fiance to understand whats happened and why.

I recall it doing rather poorly the last time it was regularly on the Adult Swim schedule but I chock that up to it being episodes that had already aired on CN at least 2 times and TNT once before airing on Adult Swim. Fresher episodes would likely do better. On the flip side I wouldn't use the special showing in February as a good way to gauge how the show would do on a regular basis either but it did do well on that Star Wars themed night.

Personally I'd rather they not air it unless they don't have anything else they can air and from a personal perspective I'd much rather see Megas XLR than any show that's already on CN or Boomerang. And pairing SBT with Megas XLR would be quite a treat IMO.

Being the Production I.G junkies that they are, I was surprised that Eden of the East never made it to Adult Swim. Maybe they will get Blood-C for their next show instead?

I'd hope not. Blood-C was pretty awful and certainly nowhere near as good as Blood+. If they had to go with an I.G. show even Guilty Crown would be better(though that's still a trainwreck).

The backdoor schedule updated, and Off The Air is airing in the extra hour... I was expecting anime to air during that time, but oh well.
