I actually thought that they were referring to the 2D shorts when they announced they had The Clone Wars until I remembered the CGI series.
Gosh, this just makes me wonder if we'll see american cartoons like Megas XLR make it to the later half of the block. I haven't seen the later episodes of it for whatever reason, probably poor scheduling by CN, but I was always excited to see Megas when it was on.
Well, more than likely we won't get Megas (due to legal red tape concerning the show's airing rights being tossed away as a tax write-off).
The other big issue that's barring Toonami from getting certain shows like Samurai Jack is that CN apparently has some internal rule that if a show is exclusive to Boomerang, it's stays exclusive to Boomerang.
This is just not true. Beyond the fact that "concerned parents" aren't really looking at Adult Swim's ever changing schedule to see if shows are intersecting, it is purely about content. Nothing more. Clone Wars has been on AS before, and no one got upset. Samurai Jack is really cool, but it also is really slow paced and sparse a lot of the time and does not fit in with the current schedule, and given how packed things are at the moment anyway there is no need to try to fit it.Plus, parents would be mad if they find CN/Boom is airing "an adult swim show". That's apparently what concerned parents would assume if a show is airing on both CN/Boom AND Adult Swim's Toonami. Not simply a "kids show airing on an adult network". It makes sense why Samurai Jack can never be aired on Toonami.
No, it's true. Back during the Toonami panel at Momocon, Jason DeMarco explained all of this concerning why shows currently airing on CN or Boomerang can't air on Adult Swim. Clone Wars at the time was an exception, for whatever reason. This is just not true. That is kind of ridiculous, wow. I still don't really think they would go for Samurai Jack right this moment though. No, it's true. That bridge was burned long ago. Not much hope for it now.Either that or it will be the bridge to getting Sentai shows onto Toonami.
What do you mean, burnt bridge? There wasn't some sort of incident causing Toonami to be anti-Sentai, was there? That bridge was burned long ago. Not much hope for it now.
Space Dandy (directed by Shinichiro Watanabe) was pitched to Adult Swim
