"Toonami" News & Discussion Thread

Oh man, a 15th anniversary sequel to The Intruder? This is going to be good.

Maybe if the outpouring of hype is big enough (like, hashtag trending worldwide big), we could see a full 11 minute short out of this.

Whoa, a real new TIE after all this time? This new Toonami is really taking off. 2015 is a long ways off, but it's still very exciting to know that they're going to start doing big things like this again.

Ooh... A new TIE sounds amazing... Now I need to figure out how to get my friends to spread around the #Intruder2 hashtag...

According to the backdoor schedule, Blue Exorcist is going to be airing at 1:30am and Soul Eater will be moving down to 2:00am on February 22nd. If this is the official schedule, then it's probable that Black Lagoon will be airing at 2:00am when it joins the lineup.

Doesn't make too much sense to put Blue Exorcist to 1:30 just to push it back a bit later, so that could be going on. Too bad for what little of Soul Eater is left, BE couldn't have had 2 from the start and then go to 1:30. I'd rather a show be bumped back half an hour, especially if its only starting, than to move another up half an hour near its end.

Well, that's a surprise. But given how intense Black Lagoon supposedly is, I guess I can see why they'd put it in a later slot.

Also, consider this: Blue Exorcist is a Shonen Jump series. Might as well put it together with the other three Shonen Jump series.

I look at that image and I can't help but notice TOM I had a bit of a beer gut on him.

Actually, it's from Jump Square. Same magazine as To Love-Ru Darkness, although I can't imagine that Toonami will be showcasing that one.

That makes sense. They'd want to try putting a new show on the earliest timeslot possible and with what I've heard about Black Lagoon's content, putting it at a later slot makes sense too.

OR Adult Swim is so fond of their partnership with Aniplex that they wanted to bump up Blue Exorcist a half-hour earlier? I mean, Funimation has Space Dandy starting the line-up and One Piece after Naruto Shippuden, so I imagine they're balancing out the treatment between shows from different licensors.

Jump Square is a Shonen Jump magazine. Jump Sqaue also serializes D.Gray-Man, Rosario Vampire, and Prince of Tennis, all of which are considered Shonen Jump.

I'm going to say this: we should keep the backdoor confined to PM from this point forward. I've been talking it over with some of of my Toonami chat buddies and as far as we know it's the last backdoor DeMarco has not killed. DeMarco does lurk ToonZone and if he spots the backdoor he will have it killed, just like he had everything else killed, especially if someone Tweets about it.

Just a recommendation by me personally, and not by my chat buddies. Move along, move along.

And yeah, Jump Square is considered a Shonen Jump magazine, it's a spinoff that publishes monthly. Blue Exorcist, Rosario + Vampire, Claymore, etc., that publish in Jump Square are branded as "Shonen Jump" Stateside as well. Jump Square is meant to appeal to a slightly different, less mainstream demographic than the main Shonen Jump magazine, but it's still Jump.

Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
