"Toonami" News & Discussion Thread

If they ever do go back to airing the original IY, that they continue where they left off instead of starting completely over. Been a few years since I (as well as a lot of people still casually watching) have seen up to the end, and I don't want to have to wait 163 weeks + weeks it's doesn't play to finally see the end again. (I'm not interested in the DVDs, this is in terms of them playing the series on TV)

Was Inuyasha able to air all of its episodes under Toonami? I'm just a bit curious about that and since I don't watch the series, I'm not sure how far they actually got.

The first 20 or so episodes of Inuyasha were pretty good. Everything else (aside from maybe an episode here or there) was bleh. I honestly kinda wish they'd taken it off the air the sooner.

But still, as one of earlier anime I watched, I can't deny that I have some fond memories of it. Oh yeah, and great music.

After this week, they would still have about 40 more episodes had the rights not expire. So, no.

BTW I do not believe that AS was airing IY constantly and I think ASA lost the rights to it for a while and then Toonami got new tapes cheap.

I think they had it until Toonami got on when they just decided to not play it for the first 6 months of their run.

Since no one else is doing it, I'll handle the Blue Exorcist talkbacks. :)

Eh, Samurai Jack REALLY shouldn't be listed as new Brian...

Considering these episodes actually HAVE aired on Toonami before, I agree.

I agree with Soul and Ishtar. I changed it to make it more accurate.

Christ. Hasn't Inuyasha been in the graveyard slot, like, forever? I mean, its run ended seven years ago. Do that many people really care?

Apparently so. Maybe some people who were watching the series for the first time through Toonami were more upset. I could easily see them trying to either get it back or more likely get Final Act on the lineup to make up for the sudden replacement on their lineup.

Augh! Seriously? It's bad enough to wait a whole month to go by before we can ask questions, but two?

And what's his rationale for doing this?

Always a ton of complaints, which is no biggie. More that there weren't a lot of questions beyond "what about X show?"

News flash, Jason: It doesn't matter how long you make the fanbase wait. They will ALWAYS take that opportunity to ask that question.

That is too bad since I look forward to the Q&A sessions. I don't really see how having the sessions bi-monthly would provide more questions besides "What about X show/" either.

If they really like it they should just get the season sets, they're no where near as expensive as they use to be (most of them less than $20)

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
