I could see them announcing the replacement at momocon, which is pretty soon.

Momocon isn't until Memorial Day weekend this year.

Yeah, so if they have a show bumping Dandy on April 5th, they'll have to announce it soon. Anime Boston would only be two weeks away from then and I would hope they would announce something much sooner than that.

On one hand the keep saying to be on the look-out for surprises but on the other hand the clock is ticking.

Here's one fantasy scenario: Space Dandy is picked up for a second set of 13 episodes that ends up airing in the Fall 2014 season after a break, Cowboy Bebop HD occupies 11:30 until then. A premiere would arguably be better, perhaps, but there's also something to be said for getting that old favorite back and debuting it at its best in a good timeslot. After the first run Bebop could go back to a later time again, and then new programming returns to 11:30.

Now I'm curious if there's a possibility to airing 1 hour of Bleach premieres until Dandy is ready with episodes 14-26.

I don't like these newer episodes of Bleach myself, and I'd much rather have an hour of One Piece, but doubling up on a show at least keeps the 11:30 spot warm.

Anime Boston's timing is almost perfect for a Toonami announcement (two weeks before the supposed end of Space Dandy). It'd make sense because, considering how big AoT is, Toonami would definitely want a TV run before it hits DVD.

DeMarco has said advertising anything more than two weeks in advance is a waste of time, after all.

FUNimation might also really want to make the announcement themselves at Anime Boston alongside their dub screening there, even if that means only finding out two weeks before it premieres. To be fair, Toonami needs to give Blue Exorcist and Black Lagoon enough promotional attention first, as an Attack on Titan announcement would overshadow them. If we don't get it in April, my next guess is July. I'll be dumbfounded if Toonami ends up not airing at all by the end of the year, personally.

INUYASHA IS LEAVING, SYMBIONIC IT RETURNING, DST LINE UP!

Sorry for the short notice, but we’re losing the rights to Inuyasha after this weekend, so starting Saturday 3/8 we’re replacing it with Symbionic Titan at 5:30a. Also Daylight Saving Time is 3/8, so we’re losing one hour JUST FOR THAT NIGHT. Soul Eater will not be affected, so Black Lagoon is still set to premiere on 3/22. GITS and FMAB will return as regularly scheduled on 3/15.

Well that's certainly interesting. I have a feeling that if Attack on Titan really does come in April then Sym Bionic Titan won't be on there for very long and Space Dandy reruns could end up taking that timeslot instead. Everything is a bit more freed up that way

Maybe losing IY rights means they have a new Viz show?

Tiger and Bunny would probably do well at 11:30 if Dandy is ending and Titan isn't ready, though then it would be a while for a spot to open up for Titan barring another expansion.

Hmm...Well, my theory about Sym-Bionic Titan replacing IGPX to make a Tartakovsky hour has been thrown out the window. I mean, it's returning, but I didn't think Inuyasha's rights would expire until at least the end of this current run. Still pulling for Inuyasha: The Final Act to replace Bleach in October/November.

Also, it does my heart good to see no less than three western-animated cartoons on Toonami now.

Eh, I was enjoying InuYasha while it lasted, but I have yet to give SBT a go for my own, so I'll be watching.

I too am satisfied though with it off considering the Band of Seven arc got played through.

I wasn't expecting them to lose the rights to Inuyasha. I never cared much for the series, but that does make me wonder what kind of show they could be get from Viz if Sym-Bionic Titan is only there for little awhile.

This change means an hour of Tartakovsky cartoons on Toonami so I'm more than okay with this, especially considering that InuYasha has been running on Saturday nights for eons. It was good enough, but they had to move on sometime.

It continues to astound that no TV deal has been managed for Tiger & Bunny. Maybe it's all about $$$, I don't know.

How would you guys feel if Bakuman, Reborn!, Toriko, or Initial D joined the lineup?

Bakuman (as in the series about two guys who make a comic for Shounen Jump) does not suit Toonami due to lacking action. The other two would be fine but I don't think Initial D is even on their radar and Toriko probably only is on their radar due to requests for it to air.

Man, how long was Inuyasha there? I remember it airing on AS when I was at a hotel in 2002.

Haven't checked this thread for several days... So Inuyasha's rights have finally lapsed? Dang, the was one HECK of a run.
