Just.....wow. I'm amazed that SEGA decided to go with CN instead of Vortexx or Nick. I can't even remember the last time CN got a licensed show based on a franchise this big.
As for the actual show itself, i'm excited for it. The recent Sonic games (Colors & Generations) have had some really good comedy in them, & I hope that this show's writing can keep up with the quality of those games. The designs on the shadows are.....interesting. Knuckles looks he's been hitting the gym.

If Cartoon Network were to air Sonic Boom on Saturdays, I can think of either the 11:00 a.m. hour or the noon hour. Don't be surprised if CN has another spectacular announcement about any upcoming animated programs for TV, because the announcement about Sonic Boom arriving for fall 2014 won't be the last.

Choosing Cartoon Network over Nickelodeon is a bit of a surprise though.

Considering Nickelodeon's treatment of Power Rangers and Digimon, I'm not that surprised. Sega might not have wanted Sonic to get the same mistreatment, and had more faith in Cartoon Network.

Only so much faith from me on this one - even if the CGI is good enough... I don't expect this to be laugh out loud funny either. Then again, Sonic X was failure, and I don't have ANY fond memories of anything Sonic-related on TV before it, so this almost sounds like a massive step up...

Considering Nickelodeon's treatment of Power Rangers and Digimon, I'm not that surprised. Sega might not have wanted Sonic to get the same mistreatment, and had more faith in Cartoon Network.

Nick has a reputation of being poison to any new show it may get so I say SEGA made the right choice in choosing their venue to broadcast the show.

Though a franchise this popular will turn a profit either way, hopefully Cartoon Network makes the right choice as well and gives this a weekday timeslot instead of airing it on Saturday mornings. This deserves to be a part of the daily lineup and should be getting the same treatment as Teen Titans GO!; it'll fit right in.

This sounds like it'll be pretty good, we could use a new modern sonic for tv. If that is knuckles i'm hoping they don't change him so much he's unrecognizable.

Possibly, if Cartoon Network commissions at least 40 episodes for the first season of Sonic Boom, it'll likely air during the week, but there's nothing wrong with Saturday mornings, either- if CN commissions at least 22 eps. for the first season, it can work on Saturdays, maybe in the noon hour.

I really hope this winds up being treated more like Teen Titans Go then say Pokemon because even if this is more of a co french production this is still being made to air first on Cartoon Network so it should be treated like that kind of acqusition. Because with stuff like Pokemon or well any "toyetic anime" they stick that in the mornings (usually just weekend mornings but some shows weekday mornings) with bare mininum promotion and just don't bother making you care about getting up to see the series. They really do need to treat this series better since yeah I could really see it being far more of a fit with CN's programming block now actually.

Actually though I did think of a negative of it on Cartoon Network: The series is going to have a pretty lame intro. As Cartoon Network shows no longer really even have intros. Well yeah 20 second long ones but besides Adventure Time and Teen Titans Go aren't really that memorable or intersting. which would be a shame since all the other Sonic shows had at the very least decent intros.

Not sure how I feel about this.

On one hand, I'm glad there's another Sonic show coming out, but on the other I'm not sure how I feel about the designs they've chosen. For now they're only shadows but I'm really not feeling Knuckles at all. I'll try to reserve judgment till they reveal the actual designs.

I can't help but feel this should be on Vortexx, but its easy to understand why SEGA went with CN.

Considering that a legendary company in the video game industry commissioned them to air a show about their mascot and one of the biggest faces/ franchises in video game history, CN should be giving Sonic Boom royal treatment, which I'm sure they will.

IDK... I think it's more of the creators' decisions on whether or not their shows have intros but it's something that's glaringly missing and something more shows should have but considering what CN is working with here, I can't see this not having an intro.

Knuckles is the only "redesign" I'm okay with. He's taller and buffer, and yeah he has fingers now but at least he still has his trademark knuckles. I'm sure he'll be fine. Tails looks the exact same, so yeah... Amy, I'm not sure if she looks different or not, but it's not like I really care all that much. Sonic on the other hand... What's going in with his spikes?

I could see it airing earlier in the morning, but I could see it airing on Saturday mornings at least.

That's a good point. Nickelodeon doesn't have the best reputation regarding third party properties and with how they've handled both Power Rangers and Digimon, SEGA might have wanted to avoid some of those schedule issues. Cartoon Network probably won't pull the same kind of moves that Nickelodeon would in regards to sudden schedule changes at least.

WOOOHOOO, I'm a big Sonic fan and another new Sonic the Hedgehog series called Sonic Boom that's coming in Fall 2014, sweet, nice that its CGI/has comedy.Cool that Cartoon Network gets another videogame series after the Pokémon series and the voice actors from the current Sonic the Hedgehog games will be voicing the characters along with Mike Pollock returning as Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, sweet.I'll definetly enjoy it after enjoying the previous Sonic the Hedgehog series/movie, The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog/SaturdayAM Sonic the Hedgehog/Sonic Underground/Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie/Sonic X, playing the Sonic the Hedgehog games, and looking/reading the Sonic the Hedgehog comics whose cool adventures were great.Both Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles' "redesigns" are interesting/different/bizarre/sweet, Sonic wearing a jacket with a new manly humanish face, neat, and Knuckles looking Ben 10 alien-like, tall, has fingers, and BUFF/HUGE, surprising/cool.Seeing Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik's new redesign soon along with Mecha Sonic/Silver Sonic's redesigns will be sweet as well.I'm sad The Freedom Fighters: Princess Sally/Antoine/Rotor the Walrus/Bunnie Rabbot won't be showing up, oh well.

I hope to see The Chaotix: Vector the Crocodile, Charmy the Bee, Mighty the Armadillo, and Espio the Chameleon/Big the Cat/E-123 Omega/Cream & Cheese/Ray the Flying Squirrel/Blaze the Cat/Silver the Hedgehog/Marine the Raccoon along with my favorite epic villains like Nack the Weasel, Nic the Weasel, Shadow the Hedgehog, Rouge the Bat, Jet the Hawk/Storm the Albatross/Wave the Swallow, Ixis Naugus, Mammoth Mogul, Scourge the Hedgehog, Fiona Fox, Renfield T. This news took me completely by surprise. Not only are we getting a new animated Sonic series for the first time in a decade, but it's also airing on CN? That's a double whammy right there! I'm intrigued to see how the presumably updated character designs will look.

I'm betting that the characters should be voiced by some of the actors we know and like.

Sega themselves confirmed that the show will use the current set of voice actors used in the games, so that's out of the option. Besides, why would you want that anyways? Sonic is a carefree speedster, not a goofy sponge.

Such a delight! I have only caught glimpses of previous Sonic cartoons. (I have the first episode of Sonic X on Gameboy Advance Video!)

[strike]It'll be nice to check out a brand new Sonic series... and on Cartoon Network no less! Makes me wonder how Sega will approach the rating system for this one. TV-Y7 like Pokemon? Or TV-PG like How to Train Your Dragon? I would love to see this series go the PG route since it'll be on Cartoon Network[/strike]. Scratch that. It's aimed at kids 6-11... now this really does seem more like a Nickelodeon style pick-up than I originally thought!

It makes sense for Sega to go with CN, if only because Dreamworks and Saban shows were subjected to Nick's poor scheduling decisions. Nick has bigger ratings, but at least CN is typically consistent. I can't wait to see more of BUFFles and the gang come 2014!
