"Welcome to the Wayne" Discussion

That's what I was wondering... I could be wrong but after watching the first episode it *seems* to be serialized and also gonna use the full 22-minutes. So that's where I'm a little concerned given how TMNT was treated...
TMNT was moved to Sunday mornings for new episodes, they never had weekday bombs at all

I've seen the sneak peek and, yeah... Nick better aim to make a hit out of this, right the hell now. I want to see this surpass what Harvey Beaks was cut short of doing and to be up there with The Loud House leading this channel to victory, one new episode telling this hopefully awesome story to be at a time.

Saw the first episode after posting it here. I loved it and I can't wait for the premiere next month.

Perhaps Nick is trying to move away from the 11-minute episode format...

Count me in with all the others praising it. Again, from the basic premise, I just kinda expected wacky hi-jinx in a crazy apartment, but I was surprised by how mysterious and action-packed the series was. I didn't really appreciate how the episode itself didn't really feel like a pilot, though. I at least wanted some form of introduction, and I don't understand why the creatives didn't just redo the online shorts, or even just re-upload the original shorts and edit them together.

Saw the pilot finally

This is SUCH a Gravity Falls clone!
We even have a boy Mabel and girl Dipper (grappling hook anf baseball cap included)

They are even called TIMBERS

not that I'm complaining

Nick just released a video of the theme song EXTENDED:

Wow, Nickelodeon's had a bit of a turnaround in the past few years. Harvey Beaks, Spongebob is good again, Loud House, and now this.

Even though this is a knock-off of Gravity Falls at least Nick/Viacom is starting to take chances on new concepts again!

However the art-style for the characters on this show is weird

If there's one good thing I can still say about Spongebob and FOP it's that they have excellent art direction!

The art of Welcome of the Wayne is similar to a lot of the present-day cartoons. It's obscure, awkward, and weird.

I've watched the first episode online, and it was ok. To be honest I don't have the heart feeling of liking the show so much.. Sadly I outgrown cartoons (exception of Loud House and TMNT). All I'm interested is the structure and scheduling and promotion of Nickelodeon..

The titles for the episodes airing next month are being listed on The Futon Critic.
July 24 - Rise and Shine, Sleepyhead
July 25 - Like a Happy, Happy Bird
July 26 - Mail Those Cards, Boys!
July 27 - Today Was Wassome
July 28 - Some Kind of Tap-Dancing, Beekeeping Whaler

Too bad Harvey Beaks is getting canceled and burned-off on Nocktoons
and I em afraid this show will face the same fate, seeing how there is barely any buzz around it

Sure it's a Gravity Falls clone but so was Over The Garden Wall.

How is Over the Garden Wall a Gravity Falls clone?

Gravity Falls didn't invent the mystery genre  Ever read a book? xD

Scooby Doo should be the first cartoon to think of the mystery genre tbh.

Anyway, saw the first episode on Nick.com online and I really liked what I seen. I hope Nick finally learn their lesson from the Harvey Beaks incident and treat it with respect (as long as ratings doesn't go below a million).

Fun facts:
It's produced in NYC...some of the people who worked on the show had previously worked on most of Nick preschool shows (which are mostly made over there rather than in LA).
Features three Voice actors from Pokemon (one from 4kids original voice of Ash, Billy Bob Thompson, and Marc Thompson) and three voice actors from Aqua Teen. That's an interesting cast right there.

If people want to see Nick succeed again then they NEED to support this along with the other new shows (yes even Bunsen is a Beast and Pinky Malinky!)

As much as I despise Viacom it's not their fault that Harvey Beaks, Sanjay and Craig, & Breadwinners underperformed

These shows failed because not enough people were watching them
