MeTV Toons - Network TALKBACK & Discussion Thread

MGM/DePatie-Freleng? Shout Studios? Nelvana? Wildbrain? International shorts from International companies? .....Disney?
I can see Mario & Sonic shows along Pink Panther, 6Teen, Rocky & Bullwinkle makes return, Felix the Cat, and others airing on MeTV Toons next year.

As 6TEEN too.
If they air it, it's highly likely that they could air the previously unaired-in-US episodes (there's 19 of theme being skipped due to content although those episodes can be found in various streaming services such as Tubi)

i think 6Teen will be perfect fit for MeTV Toons next year.

Toon In With Me and MeTV's Saturday morning lineup used to have the DePatie-Freleng shorts, but the rights expired before MeTV Toons launched, which kinda surprised me. I don't know how likely it is that they'd be able to get the rights back. Granted, I don't know how hard it is to get them, but you'd think MeTV would still have them if it wasn't an issue.

The DePatie-Freleng shorts were in the MGM library and Amazon bought them when they bought MGM.

Weigel would have to go through Amazon to get them back, which looks unlikely.

Amazon MGM is still in the linear television distribution business, so it's nothing at all really.

The 1940's Noveltoon Sheep Shape has been restored.

This is for an upcoming Blu-Ray collection of Famous Studios cartoons, but it's almost certainly going to show up on MeTV Toons at some point.

The site I used has been showing an error message for two weeks now and apparently won't return.
Not surprised, it is basically cat and mouse chase game.

Weigel would have to expand to outside of the US and they would need new investment to expand the operation.

If you are in Mexico or Canada near the US, you would able to get it with antenna.

I wish that Paramount needs to fix their cable channels by add more older rerun shows, but sadly, Ellison didn't care.

Any other Filmation shows that could be here?

Universal (through Dreamworks) owns most of the Filmation shows that weren't work-for-hire for other studios.

I don't know if Mattel would have to get involved for them to air He-Man and She-Ra, and Fat Albert is very likely untouchable because of Cosby. But there's other shows that could be aired.

Warner Bros. owns the DC Comics shows and the Gilligan's Island-based shows, so those are probable candidates as well.

And even if Portugal obtained the licenses for at least the minor shows, it would be expensive considering dubbing or subtitling costs.

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
