Boomerang International News and Discussion Thread 5.0

One time in the summer of 2010 (August maybe) the main track was glitched and was in Hungarian.
It also happened for me but I remember it used to happen in the early days of CEE feed. I think one time it happened to have Polish audio instead of Romanian. Back then, I didn't recognize the languages back then as how I recognize them now.

People don't care about languages as kids. Even I switch audio tracks more often now so I can understand the differences.

And one time Polish too. I even DVRed it but when I came back home (still in August 2010) the "evidence" was deleted.

I enjoyed Boomerang in English, although, back when I was sometimes switching to Hungarian whenever I was bored, I remember it sounded very weird...

Wait, you lived in the CEE area? How would you DVR? Unless you mean recording the stream.

He meant that once the audio glitched and was Polish instead of English.

No, Portugal

I had a DVR since 2008

And one time the main English track was in Polish. I only had one track on CN and Boomerang and that was English

Some providers used to offer receivers that had DVR built in as well. UPC was one of them, here in RO. In fact, these receivers were named "mediaboxes".

Oh right. You received the same pan-feed as CEE. I misunderstood and thought that you were talking about Boomerang CEE but didn't launch until 2011.

Portugal continued to receive Boomerang Pan-Euro until the last day of 2013.

"Yogi's Treasure Hunt" also aired until January or February 2017, when the "Boom Boom Boom" block ended. It started to be rerun during thursdays on that block, since August 2016.
It last aired in December 2016 here, actually. Also, it returned in October of that year, not August.

That's because Boomerang didn't have a Romanian track until June 2010.
In October. Or at least that's when I first got the Romanian track

Me too. That's how I learned English because the local language wasn't here but that was fine. I understood enough English at some point that I understood what the characters talked about.

That's when it got added on Digi DTH.

Yes, my bad. It did start indeed in October, but a few months back while browsing tv.acasa.ro I found out that it last aired in February 2017. Or January. Not sure, but I know that it was able to get through 2017.

I know very well that Yogi's Treasure Hunt stopped airing after 2017 started, still

Usually tv.acasa.ro didn't "lie" with its schedules. But ok, I do believe you :))

If a TV schedule says it aired, then I'm sure it did. There's no reason for the site to lie.

That's what I say too.

You probably don't know but in very rare cases there were some errors with the schedules on the site, like they didn't update them at the right time, or they probably mismatched a show with another, but again, that was very rare.

Speaking of tv.acasa.ro, this is the site at the moment...

And I can't find any other website that archives old TV schedules from Boomerang CEE (plus @josie gave up on his Boomerang Europe blog at the end of 2016 so I can't find anything there)

Yup, it's not that page we know anymore.

Still, somewhere in March 2022, they removed all pre-2016 schedules from all channels, and since then, the site started having random errors or even loaded very slowly sometimes.

Luckily you can see the schedules in a spreadsheet made by Moleoman:

I remember when this website had the past (very much so) schedules, too.

I guess it's there to show you can't easily trust "public" websites, which are susceptible to changes, buyouts etc.
