As anyone familiar with Street Fighter knows, "Balrog" is actually "M. Bison", as in "Mike Bison".*

I had discovered that the pose he does in his original "profile picture" was copied from a picture of Mike Tyson doing a similar pose. This explains why Capcom was afraid of a lawsuit, but it still doesn't explain why Capcom felt they had to switch the names around instead of just having the boxer character renamed in non-Japanese releases.

*As a reminder, "Vega" is the dictator character while "Balrog" is the Spanish Ninja with the mask and claw.

If they had switched 30 years later, then the USA would probably still be using the Julian calendar today and Americans would probably celebrate Christmas on January 7th 2026 (non-American time) and schools would start on September 14th 2026 (non-American time). Not just that but Redfoo's father is none other than Berry Gordy himself, who is the founder of Motown, the record label best known for the likes of the Supremes, the Temptations, Marvin Gaye and of course, the Jackson 5 (later the Jacksons when they moved to Epic Records in 1976).

There's also a "Duckula" (unrelated to the Danger Mouse character) created by Scott Shaw! and featured in the anthology comic book series "Quack". Shaw! almost sued Filmation for using his comics as reference when making Quackula.

Honestly i never liked Duckula, He is a whinny error-gaunt runt that made his shows just plain bad illustrated radio, I thought Danger Mouse is alright slowly because it is fast paced and the writing works and it has wit, But Duckula is just plain boring as chalk on a chalkboard
