Cartoon Network International News Thread 26.0

It was during 2012; later it returned in January 2014 (precisely after I lost access to the channel) with the Old School block, and then even without Old School it was part of the normal schedule until 2015.
Do you remember when the last day exactly it aired in 2012 and do you remember what day it was exactly removed in 2015 and did it ever air in 2013?

I somehow knew about MTV being initially from WB, though. But still, Nickelodeon "hopping" from one company to another not very long after?

From 1977 to 1986 are 9 years. But yes.

Anyway, let's get back on-topic. There is already the WBD acquisition thread for that.

It's been 3 months since the last part of season 2 of The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball didn't release on Cartoon Network and HBO Max in Europe.

It's been 3 months since Cartoon Network Latin America didn't release Season 2 of The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball, I checked the Latin American Spanish and Brazillian Portuguese YouTube channels of Gumball, there's no season 2 of TWWWOG.

The first part of season 2 of TWWWOG released in Southeast Asia, Japan, Middle East, Africa, and India.

In India, Middle East, and Africa, HBO Max didn't launch, but Cartoon Network released the first part of season 2.

It is unknown if South Korea released season 2 of TWWWOG, HBO Max did not launch in South Korea.

I think we need to wait release of the last part of season 2 until August or September.

The U.S. does not deserve to have episodes of Gumball released entire months before every other market can legitimately have them, and on a third-party platform nevertheless.

Here are the episodes that are expected to be banned in the Middle East and Turkey:

The Summoning (Season 2 Episode 1): Due to magic themes and Darwin teamed with witch club and him dressed like a witch.

The Cheapmas (Season 2 Episode 6): Parallel to Christmas.

The Survivalists (Season 2 Episode 11): Due to Gumball and Darwin being naked, and Richard being half-naked.

The Labels (Season 2 Episode 12): Due to Gumball being "baddie" (a bad girl).

The Pants (Season 2 Episode 18): Due to naked scene during the last scene.

The Necroprancer (Season 2 Episode 19): Due to romantic themes involving Darwin and Carrie.

Cartoon Network CEE (Hungary) - alongside with the other non-Turner related channels - continuity fragments between September 2005 and March 2006

Unexpectedly, the other short film was muted

The summoning will be banned from airing . Because not only darwin dressed like a witch of just the magic . But also it's because of Goths signs and emo's . Just like what they did to COTC S6 EP 7 when it was never aired here due to references to emos

And the labels will lickley be banned due to gumball cross dressing like a women!!

Plus . I think the cheapmas will lickley be aired in December. Just like what they did to ivandoe christmas special when they reciving an special arabic dub

Are you talking about the Kankers as Powerpuff Girls promo? Which is in Polish, and what's even more bizarre, lacks the original music track

and Courage the Cowardly Dog has the Polish title.

I also noticed a bizarre HB plaster at 1hr2min in

Old theme (from the late 60s), logo from the early-mid 80s.

I never got to see that, but one time there was the reverse on an epiaode of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You that had the late 60s logo (later variation, blue on orange) with the 80s theme. All other episodes had the All-Stars plaster

It did not air in 2013. I think it had a brief run in the second quarter of 2012?

At this point, I think we will get season 2.2 (the earliest) in September. As much as I don't like it myself.

This is because they used the credits from a different, earlier master of Scooby-Doo Where Are You on the ECP pushback, different from the 1995 copies of the episodes which were actually aired. And it's the 80s Worldvision VHS tape masters in this case, which plastered the original "Zooming" H-B logo with the "Swirling Star" (long before they put the "Action All-Stars" logo in the 90s remaster). The Londom team which were making the promos and continuity for most of the European feeds of CN and Boomerang at the time, CEE included, often used prints of old shows that were drastically different from what was actually aired, mainly because they edited in the copies aired in UK. They even used good and clean copies of Wacky Races in the bumpers, while the airings were the 80s fuzzy masters with ghost framing effect. Same for the Dastardly and Muttley spin-off.

It's also why many Looney Tunes promos here had footage from the post-1948 cartoons, which never made it on CEE and the EMEA feed (besides the Road Runner shorts at one point).

That "Wacky Races" cases is notable, since the clips were PAL sped-up, while the show was almost always broadcast on CN PL/CEE and Boomerang Pan-Euro with older NTSC speed prints. The Polish dub was made on these older prints (and because of that it sounded higher pitched on Boomerang Pan-Euro airings of ep. 9 because it was the only episode with newer PAL prints which aired on that feed).

An inverted example of the promo clip source dissonance, are clips from various "The Flintstones" episodes, where the promos and fillers often use older NTSC-speed prints, but almost all (if not all) episodes aired PAL sped-up on CN PL/CEE and Boomerang Pan-Euro.

Back in 2013, CN Arabic aired the season 2 episode of TAWOG, "Christmas", since 2017, CN Arabic stopped airing the "Christmas" episode due to Christmas is not celebrated in Muslim countries. The Cheapmas episode is the same as Christmas episode, so, they would skip "The Cheapmas" episode due to Christmas is not celebrated in Muslim countries.

At least Wacky Races aired sped-up in PAL on Cartoon Network Too and Boomerang in the UK.
