    Despite already releasing on HBO Max in the United States and Latin America, Adult Swim's The Elephant still hasn't been released on HBO Max in European markets yet (excluding "Adult Swim–light" markets like Iceland, Malta, Cyprus, Baltics, Turkey, Ukraine, Central Asia and Caucasus that hardly get any non–Rick and Morty Adult Swim stuff).

    Why is that the case?

    I don't know if Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Italy, the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland will be "Adult Swim–heavy" or "Adult Swim–light".

    Today, I mistook the green algae–infested surface of a pond for solid ground.

    It was covered entirely in green algae in such a way that it actually looked like green-painted solid ground to my eyes (and I have pretty good vision, by the way). I tried stepping in, but it actually turned out to be shallow pond water instead. I fell in, and my clothes were soaking wet! At least the water was shallower than I am tall! I had to immediately return home ASAP and take a bath!

    Also, my phone (Nokia XR21) was in my pocket when I submerged in water; while it seems to have otherwise survived the ordeal for the most part (and the touchscreen still works), the phone's screen now has visible wet marks directly underneath the screen glass. No dead pixels, however.

    Strangely, the Swedish audio track for the Tiny Toons Looniversity episode "Nightmare on Toon Street" on HBO Max switches to the Dutch dub in the second half, despite the intro and the first half being in Swedish. Not sure if this is also the case on Cartoon Network Western Europe or not.

    Update: As of December 2025, this issue has officially been fixed! The second half of "Nightmare on Toon Street" now correctly plays in Swedish as intended on the Swedish audio track.

    Is it just me, or have the Cartoon Network games hosted on the dmti.cloud URL stopped working completely? They all worked on there for a while, even after the last remaining Cartoon Network URLs were officially closed down.

    I don't think CN USA will air it - and even if they do, they'll treat it like trash. Also, the show is most likely produced in Europe, and will probably be exclusive to CN RSEE, CN CEE, CN Germany, CN Netherlands and CN Poland as well.

    It did air on CN USA and on Cartoon Network feeds elsewhere, though I cannot vouch for its treatment. It was produced by Warner Bros. Animation in the United States. Also, it wasn't just purely limited to the "German-run" CN feeds alone; it also aired on pretty much every other major CN feed.

    It's just that its existence was leaked in a Russian Cartoon Network highlights reel in early 2017.

    For how they treated it, it started well but things went downhill around the time season 2 was airing with less reruns and got canned after season 3, likely with Warner Bros selling the Lego franchise.

    The movie Dumbbells is a fairly unremarkable 2014 movie in and of itself, but its French-dubbed version initially available on Netflix garnered infamy for being produced in South Africa of all places and by a bunch of unskilled rookie voice actors. It got to the point where Netflix ordered a full redub of the movie by a cast of French voice actors.

    I just tried it, and it gave me the exact same message. Seems like they’re down. Not sure if it’s a server issue on their part or if they’ve permanently shut down.

    Bizarrely, multiple European dubs of A Minecraft Movie are completely unavailable on (HBO) Max for the time being. These include Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Dutch, European Portuguese, Romanian, Bulgarian, Serbian, Croatian and Slovene. Only subtitles are available in these languages right now.

    Edit: All of the above dubs have since been added.

    Today, they added the Danish, Swedish and Finnish dubs of A Minecraft Movie. The Norwegian one isn't visible on my end though.

    They've added the Netherlandic Dutch, European Portuguese, Romanian, Bulgarian, Serbian, Croatian and Slovene dubs today. (The odds of the Belgian Dutch dub ever getting released on Max seem pretty low, however.)

    All that's left now is the Norwegian dub.

    I now have a Nintendo Switch 2 console and a digital copy of Mario Kart World (from the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle)! On June 6th, I was able to somehow take my preorder earlier than its expected delivery date of June 13th, thanks to the console already being officially out by then!

    Yes, Turkey does indeed have Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien and Ben 10: Omniverse, all of which are missing from Max elsewhere in Europe.

    Has anybody managed to successfully preserve the Danish-, Swedish- and Norwegian-dubbed versions of the memetic Big Chungus scene from the Looney Tunes theatrical short "Wabbit Twouble"? Preferably the Cartoon Network Nordic/Boomerang Nordic versions if possible (although I wouldn't mind the versions from disc 1 of Looney Tunes Golden Collection: Volume 1).

    The television broadcast history of Totally Spies! in most European countries (excluding France) looks roughly like this:
    Seasons 1–5: Fox Kids→Jetix (also Disney Channel, either as a Jetix replacement or alongside Jetix)
    Season 6: Nickelodeon
    Season 7: Cartoon Network (or Max in some countries) [excluding Germany/Austria/German-speaking Switzerland/Liechtenstein]

    Where I live, the new year has officially started! Year of Grand Theft Auto VI and unnamed Nintendo Switch successor console Nintendo Switch 2, here we go!

    Edit (November 2025): They delayed GTA VI to May 2026. And then to November 2026.

    I find it ridiculous that Batman: The Animated Series is on Amazon Prime Video internationally (including in Denmark), but not on Max in most European countries (including Denmark of course).
