  • Darksiders turned 16 a month and a day ago, and what I find interesting about the series is that its first game came out in the first month of the 2010s, and its last game (prior to the announcement of Darksiders IIII) Darksiders Genesis came out in the last month of the 2010s.
Happy 1 decade anniversary to both Norm of the North and the 10th & final season of The Fairly OddParents!

Both of these and their extensions (Norm's 3/4 sequels and FOP seasons 6-10/live-action trilogy/Fairly Odder) are great and overhated.
Happy Gummy Bear album day! Gummibar turns 20 next year, so hopefully his close associate Crazy Frog (who turns 23 next year) does a collab with him!
Unfortunately, the season 10 episodes of FOP that were pillarboxed last week reran today, but were letterboxed on the SD feed (and the episodes that were letterboxed on the SD feed last week remained letterboxed).

Seems like that just was a glitch...

On the brighter side, the audio track errors in the theme song that were on last week's airing of Booby Trapped remained in today's airing.
    THEY LISTENED!!!

After I complained that season 10 aired in its native widescreen yesterday, it seems that some scheduler at TeenNick noticed and is airing a season 10 episode cropped to 4:3 right now.

This might be the first time ever (on U.S. airwaves at least) that season 10 has aired pillarboxed to 4:3 instead of being letterboxed.
Bad news, season 10 of FOP aired in its native widescreen on TeenNick (unlike season 9, which has been airing pillarboxed to 4:3).

On the good news side, the theme song to the 2nd episode aired had one of its audio channels not work so it ended up sounding a bit pitchy, which was amusing.

Well, TeenNick has numerous problems when they air FOP like airing the instrumental version of the theme song from one episode via their SAP track and also nearly all of season 9 letterboxed in 4:3.

What was that episode that aired only the instrumental of the theme song?

Season 9 is actually pillarboxed (letterboxed is when a 16:9 image is displayed with black bars on the top and bottom of a 4:3 screen, while S9 has black bars on the left and right), and I'm glad they're doing that to it (which personally they should do to everything on the SD feed).
Happy 15th birthday to Planet Sheen and T.U.F.F. Puppy! The former is just as good as Jimmy Neutron and the latter is Butch's best show behind seasons 6-10 of FOP.

Sheen should've had 60 half-hours like TUFF and they should've crossed over as a Jimmy Timmy Power Hour spiritual successor (Sheen also should've had a Barnyard crossover beyond the Otis & Pig cameo in the pilot).

TUFF's first 20 episodes were in 4:3, but if it were up to me the entirety of it and Sheen would've been fullscreen only.

Planet Sheen's predecessor concept Red Acres would also be its own show (that also have a crossover with Sheen) as more kid shows need adult protagonists.
Since Nick's rebrand is 16 years old, I'm gonna say that its September 2009 rebrand and Cartoon Network's May 2010 rebrand should've swapped dates.

2009 saw big changes and practices in CN (like airing 11 minute segments seperately, and letterboxing shows instead of pillarboxing) and CN Real would've been a good place to launch a rebrand (so if anything CN's should've been May '09)

Nick's the opposite where it didn't really have much during summer 2010, which is when they can have that rebrand be their big thing, and thus shows like 7 Secrets, Victorious, Big Time Rush, Fanboy and Chum Chum, & BrainSurge (which even had the old Nick logo on the title screen of season 1) can air under the splat for a while.

(of course if it where up to me, neither of them would've rebranded)
Today's FOP episodes on TeenNick have aired in 4:3 instead of their native widescreen, which is both great since my wish for the widescreen episodes to air pillarboxed is working, but also it potentially could be the first time these episodes have aired in 4:3, since Nickstory doesn't any archives on the SD feed for FOP season 9 past episode 5B.
Not only did Fairly OddPet air in 4:3 on TeenNick today (like it has on Nicktoons in the past couple of years, and interestingly on Nick's Pluto TV channels), but so did the 2nd, 3rd and 4th episodes of season 9!

Here's hoping that the remaining 22 episodes of season 9, season 10 and Wishology air pillarboxed from widescreen to fullscreen!

That's the thing though, they already did air season 9 episodes in 4:3. So there's at least a chance that the rest of the season will air that way.

it always looks weird bc then you have scenes where characters' heads are cut off and stuff

This only happens sometimes, and is less noticable than when it happened in season 10 (and even then the same applies there!), which might be why the (at least earlier) season 9 episodes where pillarboxed on the SD feed when they first aired.
Happy 20th anniversary to Johnny Test, Coconut Fred and Loonatics Unleashed!

The latter two should've ran as long as Johnny did and also get 2 revival attempts.
Happy 13th anniversary to Clash of Clans! To celebrate, they released a new episode of Clash-A-Rama (which they've done more recently then I thought) as well as a Clash-A-Rama themed takeover in the game.

I still hope the upcoming Netflix series is just that on a bigger scale.
Happy tenth anniversary to the actual SpongeBob season 10 (I don't view it and 9A as the same season) and the actual first HD/widescreen episode (I also don't view 9A, Truth or Square, or It's a SpongeBob Christmas as 16:9 HD episodes).

I prefer seasons 4-9 over it (as well as over 1-3), but it's still a good era!

Well that's the first time I've seen someone say the middle seasons are the best. You've got some unique opinions for sure.

Indeed I do, if the display title and avatar both being about post-S5 FOP didn't give it away!

Some more unique opinions of mine:
-SpongeBob season 1 is the worst one (though unlike FOP season 1, it's still good)
-Loud House is the first bad Nicktoon since Ginger, & the only bad ones in the 2010s are Casagrandes, Wayne and Moguls; but its live-action adaptions are good.

    Spacething7474
-Pig Goat Banana Cricket is an 8/10 Nicktoon and one of the few Nicktoons with a theme song better than good (along with Planet Sheen & Jimmy Neutron to name a few), as well as one of the few theme songs I'd call great (the only issue is the kids that say the title).
I wish the second part of the new Phineas and Ferb episode just, made Linda disappear from the blast in part one, so that every episode ends one of the characters getting vaporized.

Eventually it keeps escalating until the season 6 finale is just one character alone by themselves.

    Make it Albert.
Crappy 10 years to Disney XD's worse logo and branding of its 2!

At least we got the premiere of Future-Worm! (back when it was shortform) from it (interestly 5 days earlier on May 27).

Two More Eggs was another shortform series, which debuted a month later on June 23, so if they postponed this rebrand by one month it would technically fall under the 2009 era's umbrella too...
Crappy 15 years and (roughly) 15 hours to Cartoon Network's worst logo!

Like Nick's logo from that previous September, it was a stark downgrade from the logos before it (much more so CN), but still had good branding around it for the first 4 to 5 years.

Is that Joan Cusack voicing Jessie in that Toy Story Papa John's commercial? If so, it sounds rough. Woundn't surprise me if it wasn't, though.
