Unconventional or unpopular opinions you have (re: animation)

I agree, especially since the pendulum swang back this decade and now it's the live-action shows that are getting shafted (this also happened with Nick in the early 2000s, which kinda stunk since that era was was weaker than the late 90s and late 2000s in terms of Nicktoons). No, it always...

Unconventional or unpopular opinions you have (re: animation)

It can still do that without necessarily tackling serious issues. As someone who really likes Hey Arnold (seasons 3-5, the first 2 are just okay), I always found that comedy was its main strength over that (which is why fan favorites like Pigeon Man, Helga on the Couch, and Arnold's Christmas I...

Anyone remember the days when Disney animated shows used to have stinger credits?

I've always liked the stinger credits (though it tended to be annoying when they'd focus on one segment, thus leaving the other segment of the half-hour in the dust), but it never hit me until now that the Disney XD originals never had them. If I recall, The 7D was actually an attempt to make a...

Trainz comes to consoles with Trainz Simulator: World Tour on Xbox Series X

Seems that the game is getting a PC port, as I noticed that it got a Steam page a few days ago. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series X version eventually released last year on October 23.

Multiverse/Sci-Fi 'The Big Bang Theory' spin-off 'Stuart Fails to Save the Universe' ordered at HBO Max

This trailer's got a better music choice than the previous one, though I feel like it could've poked fun at the premise a little more (I do kinda like the plot of alternate universe Stuart interacting with main universe Stuart to warn him about the future).

Sequel to 2000's How the Grinch Stole Christmas in the works

Pretty funny that 2 Grinch sequel projects were announced on the same day (it's a good marketing tactic if intentional, and a well timed coincedence if it wasn't).

Thoughts on each Disney Channel president?

Not too familiar with the first three, but the tenures of Rich Ross, Carolina Lightcap, and Gary Marsh were the best eras for the network (Anne Sweeny's was decent, and Ayo Davis' has been okay).

The 13 “Deaths” of Cartoon Network (Editorial)

Something I'd personally consider a death is May 17, 2013, as the standard definition feed for CN (and several other Turner networks) was eliminated for a downscaling of the high definition feed, which sucked since they stretched 4:3 programs to widescreen on the HD feed (and took until over a...

    The Strange Case of TLH

Hey, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness and Tak and the Power of Juju are at least a 7/10! The actual mid-tier cartoons Nick has are usually from this decade (like Glitch Techs and Max & the Midknights). I think Loud House definitely had some of these at launch, but would slowly fall out of...

Disney XD News & Discussion Thread

Finally they're returning one of their better DTVA shows from this decade (though outside of the mediocre Moon Girl, none of them are bad) after over a year, on top of giving the just decent Lilo & Stitch show (just decent is also what I'd call the original film) a break. I never bought that...

    Cars 20th Anniversary

I agree that Finding Nemo and The Incredibles were overhyped, even if I do like them. Cars was Pixar's best film since Monsters, Inc. in a chronological order, but Cars 2 I find a bit funnier, and Cars 3 is good, but not as much as the other 2 (same goes for the 2 Planes spin-offs).

    "Trine 6" Discussion

Pretty cool to see that Trine's still getting sequels every few years since its release almost 17 years ago. The time between this and Trine 5 is the 2nd shortest gap between Trines at 3 years (behind Trine 1 and 2 at nearly 2 and a half years), as the other gaps (Trine 2 and 3, Trine 3 and 4...

"Ice Age: Boiling Point" News and Discussion

I have mixed thoughts on Scrat returning (I think it would've been funny if Ivy Supersonic got the full rights to Scrat [who she initially created as Sqrat] and I'm not very fond of Baby Scrat), but overall this sneak peek's looking quite good. Glad to know that Crash and Eddie returned despite...

Something interesting I noticed about Good Luck Charlie (which marathoned today) is that while it's been absent from Disney Channel for a few years this decade (2021, 2023-2024, and also 2025 barring Good Luck Jessie: NYC Christmas), its Christmas DCOM (Good Luck Charlie: It's Christmas!) has...

Of 2000-2004, what was the best year for Nick?

Easily 2004 (2002-2003 were decent and 2000-2001 were meh). It was the first year of the 21st century (since 2000 is considered by some to still be 20th century) to have more than 1 live-action show with 100 or more airings (and thus the animation dominance went down a bit), SpongeBob season 3...

Disney Channel's "Wannabe Nickelodeon" Phase (2003-2005)

Ironically Lizzie McGuire's the only show listed here I don't care for (I don't think it's bad, but it never interested me). I don't think their 2010s fare feels alienating (though I'm kinda biased towards it), but I can understand the argument as to why it felt different from their earlier output.

Game series that start off a "E" but then go to "T" or even "M" on the next game

2009's Black Mirror II: Reigning Evil was rated T/PEGI 12, while 2011's Black Mirror III: Final Fear was rated M/PEGI 16. Ironically a reversal of this situation happened at the start (depending on the region), as 2003's The Black Mirror was rated M by ESRB but was rated 12 by PEGI.

Legendary Dudas also only had 6 half-hours, so the show never had any reruns on Nick (same with Middle School Moguls's 5 episodes but I'm not sad that one wasn't reran). Anyone find it interesting how much Cartoon Network season orders changed over the years?

Some of these funkier season orders can be explained by ordered seasons being split up in packaged airings or vice versa (ex: Uncle Grandpa season 3 is actually season 2B, and seasons 4 and 5 are actually seasons 3A and 3B).
