No. Plenty of people here hate sports. I on the other hand love the Olympics. Countries all over the world, coming together for one of the greatest pieces of competition & entertainment life can provide.

The summer Olympics I don't care for. The winter games are where it's at. Skiing, bobsledding, the luge, and especially hockey are much more my thing.

I personally don't think Bieber is a bad person. He just dosent make music that appeals to me (like most music nowadays).

Same here, but "Baby" isn't all that bad in my opinion. I'm just not into his genre overall. It's not like he raped my goldfish or anything.

Am I the only one who can't bring themselves to care about the Olympics? I mean, not one little bit. The only thing about it that has amused me so far are the stupid aspects, like the inflatable Voldemort, Lisa Simpson sex act logo, and the soul-stealing mascots. And that only for moments.

At least The Beatles are talented, and have a legacy. I never thought I'd be a fan of theirs until six years ago, and four years before that was when I discovered the joys and wonders of classic rock.

I worshipped the Beatles a few years ago, until I realized that they are way overrated and pale in comparison to other artists of their time, such as The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan.

Am I the only one demanding to know why Internet petitions won't stop? If anything, they've become more numerous! A bunch of names on an Internet site have no power whatsoever. People really need to realize this, none of them have accomplished anything.

Funny, because I'd argue that Bob Dylan is the one who's overrated. The guy is incomprehensible, so much so that his voice has seen parodies numerous times. I don't see the big deal for him. I get the love for The Beatles though, they're considered one of the best bands of all time if not the best for a reason. They have an impressive catalog of great songs that are emotionally powerful.

Same here. Without getting into specifics I can't stand either Summer or Winter. I'll catch something here and there but I'd rather do something more productive or something that will actually entertain or distract me. And yea I don't like Bob Dylan either. I just don't get the appeal.

IMO, the Beatles were mediocre musicians with little to no stage presence, and I don't think any individual member's solo work is worthy of much praise. But together? They wrote some of the greatest pop music all time, and their influence is really easy to find in practically every rock or pop artist you can find.

You can also say the say about Bob Dylan. The man was and still is a genius lyricist. His voice isn't the best, but again, his music is more than strong enough to make up for any of his shortcomings.

As for the Olympics? Eh, sports aren't my thing either, but I'd much rather watch them than the Superbowl.

Agreed. I can listen to most any Beatles song and simply enjoy it. The Rolling Stones, really only some of their biggest hits, and Bob Dylan? None. I never got the appeal of him. I remember one time in a high school class we were all discussing songs. Dylan's name came up, and somebody said, "Isn't that the guy who can't sing and just sounds like he's mumbling with marbles in his mouth?"

Maybe you could try starting a petition to get them banned.

Seriously though, I think it depends on what you consider an online petition. Stuff like form letters done on sites like petitiononline.com I agree is pointless. But actual campaigns with organized movements and leaders that make themselves heard rather than just sending 200 signatures through e-mail can (and have) actually work.

Just look at Operation Rainfall. What started as a few guys on Twitter eventually moved into every social network, gathered tens of thousands of followers, got support from various countries, and they have so far partially achieved their goals (2 out of 3).

It's certainly proof that a bunch of people can make a difference if they put in the necessary effort.

Well..only certain people can really "get" Dylan. You're either born with it or your not. Ive never had trouble understanding Dylan's singing voice, except for a few live performances in the 90s.

Just because someone doesn't have a perfect voice doesn't mean they are not talented. When did music become about the sound of the singer's voice only? Maybe you should only listen to Justin Beiber then..

Also, the Beatles are more of a "people say their good, so I agree" group, rather than a group people actually listen to and decide for themselves.

Yeah "Maxwell's Silver Hammer", that is musical excellence right there.

When all is said and done, I guess I do understand Justin Bieber's appeal. When he started to catch on, he looked and seemed like a nice, safe male pop star for young girls to idolize and can dance. Over the past two years, he's grown up with his audience and had his music age with him, which explains why his fans are still around and he's attracting older women to his fandom as well. And heck, he really doesn't look or sound like he did when his first album came out. I mean, you can listen to "Baby" and then "Boyfriend", and I'm sure you'll be able to notice a distinctive change in his overall person.

Which doesn't mean to say that I'm a fan of Bieber or his music at all. In fact, you could make an entire thread out of things that he has said or done that has rubbed me the wrong way. Although I will say that wasn't an invitation to make one, since that's bond to cause some controversy.

But I will also say that anyone who has lyrics such as "Swag, swag on you!" in their songs probably shouldn't be taken seriously either way.

Well..I know very few teenage girls who listen to classic rock in any form. The closest the ones I know get, is current Indie, and some 90s alternative/Indie, which is just as good as any given typical classic rock band.
