Anyone here remember the old animorph's books? They ran from 97 to 01 and had 60 book's and over ten side book's.
Did anyone here like them?

I liked the book covers...very novel.

Read about 5 pages of one of the books but just didn't like the story. Although I thought the covers were great.

*points to his screen name* I am! :) Animorphs was THE best book series. I was a fan of 'em from the month they first came out. A very cool series that never lost its steam (except around the later 30s books, but it picked right back up with its final arc). I still have all of the books, with the exception of a few that I never got around to buying. It's too bad that the TV show didn't have the same atmosphere and fan base that the book series carried through its run.

I used to be a huge Animorphs fan...but kinda grew out of it.

I'm assuming the series is over by now, anyone know how it ended?

I loved this series!

...

...

Until the horrible final book. I felt tottaly gypped by the entire last book.

Rachel and Tom killed each other, Visser was captured and put on trial, and if I remember correctly, put in some kind of prison for the rest of his life. The Andalite he was using was freed somehow.

Jake's last name was revealed to be Berenson. While Marco cashed in on the Animorph's popularity, Tobias disappeared because Rachel was gone. Cassie met some new guy while Jake become somewhat depressed and embittered. He became some kind of teacher for the military.

Ax became a general for the Andalites, who made friends with Earth and the two began to share their cultures with one another. About four (?) years later, Ax is captured by some new alien race, who took control of his body, apparently disfiguring him in the process.

Jake, Marco, and Tobias reunited, leaving Cassie on Earth with her new boyfriend to go into space with some other Andalites and humans to rescue Axe. The book ends with Jake and the crew's ship encountering the new aliens' ship.

Jake commands the ship to ram the other ship and...

That where the book ends. Literally. I felt horribly ripped off after that.

I used to love reading those books. And then I saw the live action series which was okay(Even though I was hoping for an animated series).

I loved them. I thought they were surprisingly mature for young kids, and I liked how many Shades of Gray were revealed as the series unfolded - in the beginning, the kids were waiting and holding out for the Andalites to come and help them, but it turned out that they were pretty arrogant; not all Yeerks turned out to be bad, they just didn't want to spend the rest of their lives being blind, deaf and helpless, etc.

Didn't like the live-action series as much, but I guess it couldn't have been helped with their low production budget. I think it had Shawn Ashmore in it though. :D (Iceman)

I used to be a HUGE fan of the book, the TV series was just OK. Although I agree about the ending, I wasn't thrilled with it either (too sad, ends too suddenly).

I ignored the series when it was really big, but around the time the TV show started I picked up a few of the early books and thought they were pretty good. And I watched the show most of the time. Never really got into any of it, though.

I couldn't take the switching narration of the books, that's the main reason why I never got past halfway through the second book.

I was a huge Animorph fan while they were out. I still have the ones I bought. I just found that I couldn't read them over after the last book. I usually can read books after, but the way it ended I haven't been able to pick them up since.

That's exactly how I feel. I couldn't believe it ended like it did:sad:

Never saw the TV series, but the books were great while they lasted.

Major fan here. I did feel slightly gyped at the end of the series too. Plus, the final book was so depressing, but I still frequently re-read my old books. I think the #54 should have had a better end though, it kind of sucks when series end like that, although it's good the series went out on top, rather than waiting untill years after it had lost it's steam.

Gosh, it must have been 6th or 7th grade when I started loosing intrest in them, thats about 7 years ago. When did that final book come out?

LOVE 'EM!

As a matter of fact, I just recently changed my avatar from one of Ax. I have ALL the books. I feel the exact same way as you, Aximili. (the member, not the character.) Best series ever! Certainly beats that Harry whatshisname I keep hearing about.

I've read them all, of course. I've recently begun reading them again, mostly because I'm sick of reading bad books and just decided to go for something I knew was good. That, and I read the best ones in like a day each and forgot some of the stories. I have a memory span of a turnip.

And the attention span of one, too.

The last book, #54:The Beginning, came out in May 2001.

The TV series sucked though....but the guy who played Tobais was cu-ute, so that almost made up for it... *girlie smile* Oh wait, I have this -->

It almost sounds if they planned to have a spin-off series or something, ending in such a fashion. Maybe one day I'll just have to finish of the series since I was on 38 or something.

.

Was into it until it lost some steam midway and had to decide wether it was worth it or not (at the time I was in Spider-girl as well). Lost interest in the show pretty quick, although it had some strange airing times.

Was that really how the last book ended? I swear reading the end of the last book back when it came out and went something along the lines of...

...with the Animorphs teaming up with rebel Taxxon forces on Earth and coming from their species' planet to take on the Yeerks while hoping the Andalites get off thier fat, lazy butts to help them.

Its been awhile, so I could be wrong.

I think K.A. Applegate, the writer of the series, started some other series when that ended. I think it was called Evermore and featured kids who lived in the normal world when awake but when they fell asleep they existed in another, magical world and a whole lot of other stuff goes on. Was it any good?

That's the second to last book you're thinking of.

That would be EverWorld. I read a few of those, but I lost interest after about the 4th book. Not nearly as good as Animorphs, in my opinion. Not as fast-paced as Animorphs used to be. I prefered The Seventh Tower series after Animorphs.

I wonder if Applegate stoped writing Animorphs because she got bored with them or because they weren't selling as well as they used to?

The Voyo-exclusive Romanian dub of Garfield and Friends goes on with the second season now being relased. I was afraid they will forget about the show after only one season.

As someone who's Portuguese, it just bugs me again that we lost. I wanted Portugal to win this time because this is Ronaldo's last, but no, we think Ronaldo has devolved significantly, and we lost against Spain.

Conflicted about the upcoming film adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone, given the creator now distancing herself from it despite co-writing the screenplay and blocking one of the actresses on social media despite defending her casting in the film.
