C&C - Toonami Talkback [4/1]

I missed the entire thing.

Anyone got a noose I can borrow?

I stayed up all Night and watched TOM in all his Glory, I LOVED IT! This was the best April Fools Day EVER! AS did a nice job by giving the Toonami fans a shout out. I myself would'nt mind at all if TOM legitimantly did come back to host AS Saturday nights. Who knows maybe if this special did good enough they might consider it for real. Heres hoping.

Ha! I felt like I was in middle school again! What a great way for AS to do its part celebrating 20 years of the network.

Turned it on halfway through Gundam Wing, and ended up watching through Blue Sub 6. This reminds me: should give my Outlaw Star and Big O DVDs a spin, probably haven't watched them since I picked them up 6 or 7 years ago. I liked the new advertisements of Tom schilling the DVDs. When people protest too loudly about missing the old Toonami shows I always think, "they know they can own these shows, right?"

If AS was serious about keeping a block like this a regular thing for a while, it may not be hard for them to do it as far as rights are concerned. There were only three companies they had to negotiate with last night for the rights to air these particular shows:

Funimation (DBZ, Tenchi Muyo!, Trigun), Bandai Ent. (Gundam Wing, Outlaw Star, The Big O, Blue Submarine No. 6), and Rightstuf (Astroboy, Gigantor).

Yeah, exactly and these shows are pretty cheap to own now too. They used to cost a lot more back when Toonami first aired them.

Would they encore this lineup again tonight? I'm sure a lot of people like me were caught off guard and missed it. Toonami is a trending topic on Twitter right now, I have full confidence Toonami would score REALLY high ratings for Adult Swim if they chose to air it every Saturday night.

Just woke up. So, I wonder how many people they had to get drunk to be allowed to do this? :p

the nostalgic charm would ware off in a couple weeks and the fact that they are airing more edited anime then they did before will set in.

I'm still not entirely sure that wasn't a dream.

This local commercial aired during Toonami last night\this early morning on my cable providerd; not during Gundam Wing itself but still interesting.

Cartoon Planet returns on Friday night, and now Toonami returns on Saturday night. I love being a 90's kid.

Oh, and:

Thanks everyone who watched #toonami last night. Want it back? Let @adultswim and @cartoonnetwork know how you feel! They're listening.

You heard the man! Go go go!

Best line of the night:
"He's got 99 problems and these *****es are his main one."

If the ratings were through the roof and they did decide to bring Toonami back, even without Blum recording anything for this Saturday they could still do it. TOM 3 was NOT hard to manufacture bumpers for. New bumpers & commercials came out virtually every week or so from 2003 until early 2007 when they decided to concentrate on developing TOM 4.

So yeah, if Toonami returns, they could easily have Blum rush-record some things and repurpose some bumpers.

But yeah, what PC! says. You want Toonami back, tell 'em about it.

Still, I like that they left Bleach on the air. That was really nice of them to do that, and it also makes sense because Bleach would be fronting any revived Toonami on AS. If Toonami does make a return, I hope they keep providing new material and not coast off old stuff. New stuff was what Toonami was all about with classics providing a variety of flavors and spice. :)

EDIT: I also gave Cartoon Network a very long feedback letter thanking them for this night. I hope that it doesn't fall on deaf ears.

Everyone let's spam the **** out of cartoon network and adult swim! >:D

Just finished watching the recording. That prank was all kinds of awesome. It was nice to see some new Toonami footage and all, but I wish Rurouni Kenshin, G Gundam and Gundam Seed appeared at the end instead of Astro Boy and Gigantor. Still, this is the most fun I ever had on April Fools Day.

Could someone tell me the episode titles for YYH, Trigun, Astro Boy and Gigantor? Couldn't stay up late to see it.

Still, this was the best April Fools night EVER. So many memories flooded me last night.

Because I'm lazy on April Fools day to check and this is my only serious post for the day: What is the complete schedule last night for Toonami? I fell asleep in the middle of Tenchi:sweat:.

The thing I loved about this whole thing was that..it really, really reminded me how golden those were anime were. I admit, I thought of my feelings towards the past were exaggerated. This beginning of April Fools told me.."NO, IT WAS AWESOME'.

I'm going to go ahead and try to watch all of Outlaw Star again, I seriously need to watch it.

I sooooo wish I didn't have an early shift today which forced me to sleep before Adult Swim started. But waking up to Yuyu Hakusho and seeing the old bumpers and everything was a nice nostalgia trip. I'm just sad I couldn't enjoy it a little more.

Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
