As the title says, what are some cartoons that you USED to like and enjoy but thanks to overexposure and how much you saw them, you don't anymore?

My picks would be Scooby Doo (They release like what...one or two movies each year (though they haven't for the last 2 years), Cartoon Network and Boomerang air the shows a LOT and it keeps getting marketed to an INSANE degree (Boomerang shows that Scooby Doo and Guess Who promo like during EVERY commercial break before a Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies promo (those shorts hasn't suffered the same amount of overexposure as Scooby Doo has and thus I still enjoy them to this day...duh!) and a Boomerang "now back to" bumper), The Amazing World of Gumball (Cartoon Network UK currently airs the show and ONLY that show during prime-time hours and also a lot during the afternoon) and The Looney Tunes Show from 2011 (they played those Merrie Melodies and CGI Road Runner shorts to DEATH in-between Boomerang shows).

I nearly broke my neck tripping to run in here to say Scooby Doo...

TAWOG doesn't bother me as much because its writing / plots / pacing, at least with the original series, is reminiscent of early Simpsons + South Park episodes.

Some other honorable mentions:

*Spongebob
*Tom & Jerry

I have a real hard time watching Spongebob now, especially past Season 1.

Not just because of how much its run, but people on social media using it as memes and most of the discourse surrounding it (meme faces, etc.) have really soured me on it.

If I never have to see Squidward's "No, Patrick" face again, it will be too soon.

SpongeBob was this for me too. Even though it was never my absolute favorite show or anything I enjoyed it and watched it pretty regularly during the first couple of years. Later around 2003 or so, based on a combination of overexposure, just watching less Nick in general, and the fact that I associated it with some girls who were bullies to me (they were obsessed fan girls) I fell out of it. I guess I never completely hated it but I know by the time the movie came out I couldn’t care less. I’m actually planning on watching some of the “newer” seasons (yeah many of these episodes are like 10+ years old now) to see if they are as bad as people say. I already know of some of the infamous episodes.

Honestly, same here. The way the first few seasons have been over-quoted and memed to death reminds me of Monty Python. I've also had zero desire to revisit The Powerpuff Girls ever since that period in 2001/2002 when CN aggressively over-promoted it at every opportunity to drive up hype for the movie (which ended up flopping anyway). Scooby-Doo I never liked to begin with.

Hmm I wouldn't say I don't like them now but I am tired of seeing clips of Grim Adventures on my IG feed. I need to find accounts posting other shows to mix things up a little.

I had to say the only three shows I like to watch but don't watch anymore are:

Bunsen is a beast
The Ghost and molly mcgee
Total dramarama (Despite the special being released after the show's cancellation)

SpongeBob SquarePants. Nickelodeon and Nicktoons always air it all the time!

The Amazing World of Gumball: while I still enjoy the series (well, my mum hates it), it has gotten far too much airtime on Cartoon Network (at least in Europe). While the Western European feed’s overnight schedule does at least have Regular Show, Adventure Time and Steven Universe, here, the UK and Eastern European feeds air it all night.

I went through this with SpongeBob for a while between 2019-2022, but then I went back to being a casual fan that enjoys watching all the eras, but doesn't put down other shows on Nickelodeon (most die hard fans do that a lot and act like the other Nick shows don't matter, and they are part of the problem).

Same thing applies to Gumball during its final season. I didn't liked it as much as the early seasons and CN running the show into the ground didn't help. Then, I rewatched it several years ago and it's better than I expected, but I still noticed a shift in tone.

I am BIG fan of Hey Arnold but I don't rewatch it much nowadays because I've watched it so much over the years.

I still watch "Arnold's Christmas" every year but I really have to be in the mood to watch other episodes.

I would say the same for preschool cartoons when I watched the heavy hitters out of boredom in the mid-2000s, but then I gave up.

I get this a lot with the first seasons of shows, whether it be from following it since the premiere (Kiff, Bluey, pretty much everything PBS Kids between 2017-2023) or catching way too many reruns (Rocko's Modern Life, Stickin' Around, maybe SpongeBob too). I don't really dislike these, but I've seen them so much, that no matter how long I go without watching them, they always feel a little... stale, if you know what I mean. I call it "first season syndrome". Contrasting that, however, if I ever check out anything past the FSS-affected patch, it feels fresh and new. A while back, I revisited Stickin' Around and deliberately focused on season 3, which I hadn't seen much of before, and it was pretty good! If I could watch anything for the first time again, it would be these shows. I've also talked about my experience with Animaniacs elsewhere, so I'm not gonna go over it too much, but basically "friend loved it, I didn't care for it, still had to endure it for three years, eeughhh =(".

Gumball is a good show but the fact that it's still ongoing tells me that it's overrated at this point. Don't try to make it your SpongeBob when you could start giving new cartoons a chance. I hate that networks now use their tactics to find their show to last forever. Even Disney seems to go in that direction with Big City Greens. You don't need SpongeBobs that last long. You need new shows that can carry the network for 10 years maximum and move on each time with new generations.

Not on the same level I suspect, but I got, and still am, really, really sick of the Phineas & Ferb “two nickles” meme/copypasta, and it may have subconsciously put me off watching the revival.

Happy 20th anniversary to Gummibär/Gummy Bear!

Here's to hoping he releases an anniversary album in stores on November 13th (with lots of music, videos, and extras).
Just brought a Switch 2 this past weekend. I hope Nintendo doesn't follow Sony's suit of getting rid of physical games.
Find it hard to beleive how this upcoming set has more than one normally-considered "politically incorrect" cartoon in new restoration form..
