Disney+ News & Discussion Thread

A new Animorphs series is in development.

Wow, another attempt at the adaptation. Hope this one is successful. I've seen people online hoping it's animated but it's going to be live-action, I know it. The transformation sequences should be interesting!

The streaming service is now available as an app on the dashboard for Porsche's electric SUVs as in Cayenne Electric and Macan Electric.

Live action Casper series incoming, produced by Steven Spielberg (who, of course, produced the 1995 film). Only details is that it will have a darker edge, similar to how Wednesday was to The Addams Family.

Disney+ will be livestreaming this year's Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits festivals during the second half of the year.
And the director's cut of The X-Files: I Want to Believe is coming to the streaming service next month.

Glad to have Weekenders coming, one of my favorite Disney animated series.

I've forgotten to do the thing I did for a while Here's everything coming Disney Plus in June 2026 with Avatar fire and Ash coming.

From the front page of AnimeSuperhero.com:

"There’s Hope For Lost Media As The Weekenders, Brave Little Toaster Join Disney+ May 25"

"I have never understood why this is, but trying to find a 2000s cartoon on Disney+ is like trying to find teeth on a chicken. There is no House of Mouse, nor Dave the Barbarian, nor Fillmore, nor Brandy and Mr. Whiskers….if it didn’t star Stitch, it’s not there. But at last….AT LAST….we’re getting word that times could be changing.

Disney+ and Hulu have just launched a new summer campaign called Throwbacks that highlights past hits of the 90s and 2000s. In order to do this, those hits have to actually be there, which is why “new movies and shows from the vault” are about to be added. And they’re starting with two big ones!

Doug Langdale’s beloved early 2000s cartoon The Weekenders will be added to the service on Memorial Day. The show is about Tino, Lor, Carver and Tish, four seventh graders determined to make the most out of each weekend they have together. The press release only mentions “Seasons 1 and 2” but don’t panic — there were just two season orders that were spread out over four years. Despite airing until 2004, all episodes past #13 bear a copyright date of 2001."

This is super great, I loved that show!

Also coming on Disney+ outside of the US?

good now can they finally add House of Mouse already? I'm tired of the Disney cinemagic rips being the only widescreen version available

That's what I'm wondering as well.

Here, The Weekenders was last seen on Disney Channel Asia in 2008 in a 3am timeslot (never got to see it on DC Asia back in 2008 since I was normally asleep at 3am). Never aired on TV5 to my knowledge, even with a Filipino dub, like Teacher's Pet (another 2000 One Saturday Morning cartoon) did in 2015.

The entire weekenders is on there now , all 39 episodes. Always reminds me this show felt longer than it is because of the whole dragging the length of time before airing the last few episodes. I didn't even see the last few episodes until much later because it left UPN and they put it on Toon Disney, and Disney Channel never aired those episodes.

Nothing outside of US, UK and I think Canada, sadly.

I suppose the show is only available in English too, for the time being :(

The Weekenders is not even available here on Disney+ in the Philippines as well, and I don't think Disney+ Australia has it either.

I'm so glad to see The Weekenders added on DIsneyPlus. But I don't know if I want to get my hopes up if Disney adds House of Mouse on DIsneyPlus. Although, strange things can happen sometimes.

Is that Joan Cusack voicing Jessie in that Toy Story Papa John's commercial? If so, it sounds rough. Woundn't surprise me if it wasn't, though.
