oh yes, the anime has now expanded to a Disney branded channel

In a move away from streaming, Disney announced the rebrand of Disney XD and reconversion to a basic cable channel or a diginet (Disney still has to depend on other factors) in order to lure kids from the internet. DXD in the USA will reportedly air content to promote an active lifestyle, similar to CN's former Movement, Inc. campaign in 2005.

Disney bought the Jimmy Two-Shoes intellectual property from Breakthrough and will revive the series as a more serious one where Jimmy as a merman is hunting for old elemental icons. The series will be known as Jimmy Two-Fins and only Jimmy and Heloise from that series will be present as merpeople.

A theatrical Sofia The First movie is in development, coming out in 2027. Not much is known other than that it will be about Sofia's first day at a new school, and dealing with the trials and tribulations of growing up.

At least it's going to be theatrical.

If it was on Disney+ it would be rushed or something.

The impossible happened. For the first time in recorded history, an animated character answered about his disdain for not winning an Oscar, instead winning to Encanto.

Luca, the character of the movie in the same name, told on Monday morning (due to timezones) that while he was skeptical about trying to win an award at the Academy Awards, he is still shocked that he lost. For him, the primary reason is streaming.

well of COURSE he lost.

that nomination was for the MOVIE luca, not some guy named luca!

what a narcissist

Disney Television Animation has made a deal with Stephen King to adapt his books as part of an anthology animated series.
