In a recent report from Variety, the multi-billionaire Walt Disney Company announced plans to change their long-lasting classic mascot, Mickey Mouse, to a new one, in an attempt to live up to future modern generations that appeal to characters of today's century that resonate with them better. Now I don't know how will this affect the Disney and Mickey Mouse fans, or if there is someone really out there that feels Mickey should retire.

But man, Disney ditching Mickey? Who knew we would see this day coming....

Update: Yes it is! I’m so glad I wasn’t fooled! I mean, Disney fans accused Mikey Cyrus for replacing Mickey Mouse as the new mascot is one thing, but this is ridiculous.

Nearly 18 months after Disney bought Saban Entertainment, the company behind Power Rangers, and its parent company Fox Family Worldwide (now ABC Family Worldwide) for over $2.9 billion, the Mouse House has made a decision to sell the rechristened ABC Family Worldwide, which owns the Fox Kids brand in international markets, to their 2nd most famous rival on Saturday morning television 4Kids Entertainment, who have just introduced its revolutionary Fox Box block last fall on the Fox Broadcasting Company, due to the content of the ex-Fox Kids library "not fitting the Disney brand".
Headquartered in New York since 1992, 4Kids Entertainment is well-known for adapting and distributing of the mega-successful Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series, both of which air 6 days of the week on Kids' WB, to international audiences outside their native Japan.
The Pokémon producer has announced that ABC Family Worldwide change its name to 4Kids International and it has gained US broadcast rights to popular Fox Kids Europe shows (and upcoming shows) such as Vitello Productions' adaptation of Shin-Chan, CinéGroupe's What's With Andy and Jason and the Heroes of Mount Olympus.
